Tommy was exhausted as Paul carried him inside the doctor's office. They had left Gene a message to keep the girls a bit longer. Setting Tommy in a chair, Paul filled out the paperwork and sat back down. "Paulie, what if I'm pregnant again? It's too early."  I whispered. "I  can't have a fourth child so soon."

"Well, if we are, then we will figure it out." "Of course you could have just the flu."

Tommy thought he detected venom in that statement but he didn't care at that point.  He only wanted to sleep.

Paul handed the clipboard back and pulled Tommy into his lap. "I wouldn't mind a fifth one. I have you, you're my first baby, and then the triplets. No, I'm not implying you're a baby. I'm calling you my baby because you are. I love you, even though you puked all in my hair. Yuck!"

Tommy gave him a weak grin and closed his eyes. "Love you too."

The doctor called them back and had Tommy lay on the table. "Well, according to your husband, you threw up all over the bedroom earlier. How long have you been feeling sick?"

"Since October 17th. I first got sick two days after our triplets were a month old."

Paul turned pale because he had no idea it had been that long. He caught the words on a brochure about pregnancy. IF YOU ARE INTIMANT BEFORE SIX WEEKS AFTER GIVING BIRTH, YOU HAVE A VERY HIGH CHANCE OF BECOMING PREGNANT AGAIN. He and Tommy had been  a week after the triplets were born.

"I'll get bloodwork started." said the nurse. She gave Paul a look as she left.

Paul handed the brochure to Tommy and pointed to the large print.

"P-P-Paul? W-W-We did." "Am I?"

"Probably."

"Oh my."

Tommy had a feeling he already was. He had gone and gotten a test but hadn't used it yet.

After he blood was drawn and the checkup over, they left to go back home.

"Go back to bed while I make breakfast." said Paul.

"No, I'm fine. I want to help."

"YOU THREW UP EVERYWHERE! GO BACK TO BED!" yelled Paul as he shut the door. "NOW!"

"I HATE YOU! I'M LEAVING!"

Tommy ran upstairs and slammed the bedroom door. "I DON'T WANT THIS ONE!"

That stopped Paul in his tracks. He mentally kicked himself. "Way to go dumbass! You know he's moody and you have to act like a jerk."

Upstairs, Tommy shut himself in the bathroom and took the test.

When Paul came upstairs to apologize, he found the door ajar and his husband sitting on the floor in a daze.
