A Dream Life With You

Chapter 27: Designated Place.

" As you have seen the agenda, this meeting is about our new members. For the next coming days, I won't be coming to the office. Therefore, I want to deploy the work to you guys. Jan, whenever you go out to investigate, take Meg with you but if it is gonna be dangerous, you can leave her behind. While you are together out there, you can also teach her about whatever you know. Besides that, Meg, I will give you the dates of some cases. Go and watch it in the court. I think watching the cases in court can help you. Other than that, I will also give you some pointers before leaving. Most importantly, there are some cases that I don't have time to deal with. However, I want you to go in my stead. I will lead you all the way through Jan. Will you be able to do it?"

Meg was a bit scared because she was afraid of losing. Yet, she didn't want to be a loser. She wanted to be brave.

" Yes!"

" Good. Eren, I will also gave some cases to you. If you want to learn more, you can also go with Jan and Meg. Hailey will teach you whatever she knew. Hailey specializes in office work more than standing in court. She will be of great help to you. I believe you will do great together. Are you ready for that?"

" Of course!" Eren was motivated and said enthusiastically. 

" Alexa, for now, you will be focusing on office work. You will also go to the cases that Meg and Eren took. For until I come back, you should focus more on psychology as I see great potential in you regarding that matter. Hope you won't disappoint me."

" Lastly, I want to ask you three something important. I would have asked you about that in the interview but since it won't make you lose your job, I thought I would ask you later. Do you know martial arts?"

They were surprised. 

" Ah... I-I learned some self-defence while studying." Meg said.

" I learned Boxing. However, I am not that good as I didn't have much time." Said Eren.

" I didn't learn any martial arts." Replied Alexa.

" Alright. The three of you had to go to the training tomorrow. Meg, I believe you will be able to learn some skills that are useful for both defence and attack. Eren, I think you should learn freestyle. It will be good to protect others. You can also spar with Jan once in a while. She may not look like it but she is really good at it. Alexa, I want you to learn self-defence, Judo and karate. It would be hard at the start but it will be a lot easier later. Don't worry about the expenses. It will be on me."

After finishing her work at the office, Victoria went back to her house. She was feeling so tired she didn't have the energy to wash her face. She laid down on the sofa in the living room and fell asleep. She hadn't slept properly for a day. However, as she slept, she had a nightmare and woke up with a start. In the end, she washed up, changed her clothes, took her car and went out on information hunting. While on it, she also picked up Alexa as it wasn't too dangerous yet. Around 5:PM, she dropped Alexa at her home and went her way.

Victoria was one step ahead of the police in this case. She found the traces leading to the serial killer. It looked like he was keeping silent now since the city was on alert but there was no guarantee he wouldn't do something.

After 5 days, Victoria had gathered a lot of information. Of course, it came with a price. She risked her life but luckily, she was able to get out of the situation safe. She searched about each and every victim that died. She asked those who were together with the victim about his information. As for those who were alone, she tried to find it through surveillance. It was hard but she got some clues.

She had a clue about his car. She had a little description of his looks and some other things but most importantly, she had a clue about where he may appear next. What she did was very dangerous and what she was doing was still very dangerous. 

Before going to the designated place, she went back to the office and checked up on the progress of things. She taught Meg and Eren about the cases and how to deal with them if some unexpected situations arise. Jan helped them with the evidence and Hailey helped them with the office work. They all did their best while she was away. As for Alexa, she was also working hard with a nonchalant expression. Once in a while, Victoria picked her up and took her with her if she wasn't in any danger. Now, she was progressing fast. She was doing a good job. 

She deployed some new tasks before going back. She also told Hailey to call her if some emergency arises and if she wasn't able to contact her, then she and Jan may take the lead and see things through.

After that, she went back to her house. After taking a calm bath, she changed into black sportswear. Then she took a black bag and put some things inside it. For once, she was glad her haircut was short so that it won't be a hindrance in her fight.
