Chapter 58: Re-Examination.

When Victoria sat on the Lawyers seat, everyone was in an uproar. They thought an unknown newbie was handed the case because they were going to lose either way but they didn't understand why Hailey would sit in the legal assistant's position. She was way above that position.

However, the judge arrived. Because of that, everyone had to quiet down. Everyone got up and only sat down after the judge did. The judge was a woman. She looked over the documents in front of her before looking up and saying.

" Good afternoon to all. Let's start the session."

However, when the judge saw an unfamiliar face in the lawyer's seat, she was surprised. She frowned and looked at Hailey who was sitting in the legal assistant's position before asking.

" Miss Hailey, what's going on? Did you change the lawyers?" 

" Yes. Your honour."

" Why did you do that? Please give us an explanation. Since you didn't notify previously, then I may not allow it if you don't have a valid reason."

" Yes, Your Honour. I changed the lawyers because it will change the course of the case."

" What do you mean?"

" Please let the lawyer in charge speak for herself."

" Okay. Proceed."

Victoria calmly put down the files and stood up. Many people found her familiar but that didn't help them recognise her. 

" Your Honour, let me introduce myself. I believe that will be enough to make me eligible to be the lawyer in charge of this case."

" Okay." The judge looked at Victoria curiously. She wondered how she was so bold and confident when no one even knew her. 

Victoria faintly glanced over the courtroom before she spoke. 

" I am Victoria Helson of the Victory law firm. I am confident to win this case. Therefore, I can your cooperation, your honour."

Silence... 

People were so dumbfounded that no one talked for a while. Then suddenly an uproar arose. 

" What?! What did she just say?!"

" Is it the same Victoria Helson that I am thinking?!" 

" Oh My God! This is a big scoop." 

" Are you serious?! Wasn't she in a vegetative state?! Did she actually wake up?!" 

" I can't believe it! Is she really the Victoria Helson?!"

" Yes. There is only one Victoria Helson in the Victory law firm."

" Gosh! This is really breaking news."

Even the judge was left dumbfounded. When the uproar arose, she returned to her senses and told the crowd to quiet down as she bangs the gavel. " Silence... Silence... " 

Then she asked Victoria with a surprised expression.

" Are you the same Victoria Helson who is the founder of the Victory Law firm?" 

" Yes. I am. This is my identity card." Victoria passed the identity card to the judge. The judge looked at it and finally believed that it was really her. Still, the news rendered everyone restless. And of course, the ones in the worst condition were the culprit and his lawyer. 

The culprit had sweat running down his back while the overconfident and arrogant lawyer turned into a coward. Though that lawyer was famous in the industry, compared to Victoria he was nothing. Victoria was one of the best lawyers in the country while he may be well known in the city. There was a big difference.
