A Dream Life With You

Chapter 143: Terribly Hungry.

Hearing her words, Oscar was heartbroken. Tears fell out of his eyes. Sadness was seeping into his bones. But her words also gave him hope. They gave him strength. They encouraged him to fight for his love. 

He who was so distressed that he wanted to give up on everything and escape this world began to look forward to the future. He felt like with her, he can go through the ends of the world. 

This journey is destined to be very hard and tiring but he wanted to go on it. He wanted to tire himself to death but achieve that result. 

Going forward, it would be like walking through a thorny path to reach heaven. Like his previous self, many would choose to abandon heaven rather than walk on this thorny and unpredictable path but he was not alone. 

Victoria was there with him through thick and thin. She stood beside him and kept loving him. She was there for him. She was waiting for him. She wanted him by her side on this painful journey. She needed his support. 

They needed each other's love desperately to survive this ordeal. So he won't give up yet. He won't leave her alone to deal with such an unfortunate situation. He will be by her side. They will surely reach that heaven one day.

After all, God helps those who helped themselves. He is merciful and kind to his subjects. He would surely not abandon them on such a painful journey. They will survive. They will!

Oscar turned around and hugged Victoria tightly. His body trembled but his heart finally had space to breathe. The huge unbreakable wall between them vanished in an instant like it never existed. Their hearts connected instantly and relief spread to them. 

Finally, they genuinely smiled. Oscar pulled apart. His eyes were still red but there was a beautiful loving smile on his face which Victoria was familiar with him. It was so bright and warm that the depressing atmosphere instantly disappeared along with their pessimistic feelings. 

" Congratulations! Sorry for being late but Congratulations Victoria. You are going to become a mother."

Finally... Tears of happiness fell out of Victoria's eyes. While crying, she smiled happily. She put her hands on his neck and replied to his warm congratulations.

" You too Oscar. Congratulations to my dear husband~ "

After saying that, she pulled him down by his neck and kissed him with all her love. She wanted to convey what he meant to her. Oscar reciprocated her love gently. 

They panted slightly after pulling apart. Oscar smiled and pecked her on the forehead one last time and then he asked gently.

" Why did you wake up so early? You slept so late."

Victoria didn't reply instantly but went into his warm arms. She rested her head on his chest and felt a little tired. Then she said.

" Well, I wasn't sleeping peacefully. I was having nightmares all night and I don't even remember what I dreamed. It was probably because so much happened and my mind kept thinking even after I fell asleep. Then I woke up."

" Sorry I left you alone. I should have looked after you."

" Don't say sorry to me again if you don't want to make me furious. I hate it when you say that. This ain't even something to be sorry about. You are not obliged to stick to me 24 hours."

Oscar wisely shut up hearing that lest he ended up upsetting his wise. He didn't care much about pregnancy before but after experiencing her fluctuating emotions, he felt like human psychology is such a mysterious and interesting thing. 

" Okay. I won't say it again. Are you hungry? You didn't eat a lot last night."

Hearing him, Victoria looked up from his arms and stared at him foolishly. Oscar was amused and asked her.

" What is it?"

" When I first woke up, I felt really hungry. But while searching for you I forget. Now that you asked me, I suddenly feel terribly hungry."

Hearing her, Oscar was worried. But he was also happy that she was feeling hungry and initiating to eat herself. Otherwise, she is not very enthusiastic towards eating. Without delaying any further, he said.

" Okay then let's go up. I'll quickly make something for you."

" Hmm but I want to eat fried egg rice. And with some fried eggplants with salt and chilly powder too."

Oscar was stunned for a moment and then smiled and rubbed her hair. 

" Okay, let's go."

 They went upstairs. Oscar wanted to prepare food for her first but he sweated so much and felt so dirty that he hurriedly washed up in 10-15 minutes in the guestroom's bathroom. He asked Victoria to take a bath relaxingly and when she comes out, he will have her fried egg rice and fried eggplants with salt and chilly powder ready.

Oscar started cooking for her. He made rice in the rice cooker. While the rice was cooking, he broke six eggs into a bowl and beat them. Then he added salt, black chilli peppers and some cumin powder in it. After beating the eggs into a smooth base, he left it aside and cut the onion on the chopping board in thin pieces. 

After that, he took out a pan and put some olive oil on it. Then he added some ginger and garlic paste to it. Frying it for a minute, he put the onions in the pan and let it fry on the low frame. 

Meanwhile, he took out two hand-sized eggplants and a spring onion also known as Scallion. He first cut the spring onion as it took less time and placed it in a separate down.

The rice was cooked until then and the onions were also properly fried. They were reddish. Oscar then added spring onions to it and then after a few seconds, he added the rice. After mixing rice with onions, he added some more salt into the rice and took the pan out of the stove and put it aside. 

Then he took out another pan and fried eggs in it. After scrambling the eggs thoroughly, he added them to the rice and put it back on the stove. Then he mixed it properly and closed the stove. 

After that, he still had to make fried eggplant so he quickly cut them into pieces. Then he put the circles of eggplant that he cut into the pan and added a little oil to it. Eggplant took a little longer time to cook so he waited in front of the stove staring at the pan. 

While he concentrated on making breakfast, he didn't realise when Victoria come here. A pair of slender hands suddenly circled his waist and a refreshing smell of shampoo entered his nose. 

He was stunned for a moment then a warm smile spread on his lips and he turned around to face her. He also wanted to check her hair. In case she didn't dry it completely. It could be harmful to her and he didn't want to take the slightest risk right now.

Seeing his actions, Victoria understood what he was thinking and said.

" I know you will worry so I dried them up thoroughly. Don't worry. I will take good care of myself. I don't want to make you worry."
