Chapter 78: I Trust You!

Victoria held Oscar's face in her hands and gazed at him. Oscar looked back at her with that pained eyes. Victoria gently rubbed his face with her thumb as she spoke in a barely audible voice.

" Oscar, why don't you trust me?"

Oscar was stunned.

" I trust you!"

" No, you don't. You keep thinking that I will run away. That I will abandon you. That I'll change my decision to marry you! Why?! Don't you believe me?"

" No! I-I trust you. More than anything in this world! But... But I know someone else can take you away! I also know that I may not be good enough for you! Someone can just steal you away and I'll be helpless! I don't want to lose you when I barely got you!"

"It's the same, Oscar! You don't believe in my love. You don't believe me! How should I prove that I love you more than I have loved anyone? Oscar, I was never willing to fall in love but despite that, I still fall for you so helplessly. Why can't you trust my love for you?! And let me tell you! There won't be anyone who can steal me! For me, you are the only one. And doing something like that means cheating and that's the thing I despise the worst!"

" But... But I am scared... " Oscar slipped down the railing as he run his hand through his hair. His eyes were red and sorrowful.

Victoria's eyes also got teary seeing him like that. She went in front of Oscar and kneeled down. She put her hand on his face and made him look up at her as she asked in a gentle voice.

" Oscar, tell me. What can I do to make you feel better?! What can I do to take you out of this torment?! Please tell me... " A teardrop silently fell out of her eyes.

Oscar gazed at her. When he saw a tear fall off her eyes, his heart clenched. He didn't know what was wrong with him. He was so confused and battered that he felt like banging his head somewhere.

" I don't know... I want to give you the best wedding... I wanted to give you the best... But I am not the best... "

Victoria gently kissed him on the forehead. Then she said to him.

" Oscar, I don't know if you are the best or not but there is one thing I am absolutely sure about. That is I love you more than anyone else. And you know better than me how it feels to live apart from our loved ones. Do you still don't believe me? Do you think I am better off with someone else? Who is that someone else?! There is no one other than you Oscar... "

Oscar bowed his head. He didn't look up but after a while, he said in a whisper.

" Yeah... I need to calm down... "

Victoria hugged him. His head rested on her chest as she was on her knees. Oscar hugged her tighter like she was giving him courage. Hearing her heartbeat really calmed him down. 

After a very long time, he pulled apart.

" I am sorry... I'm being very paranoid... I am making it hard for you... I am really sorry... " 

" No! Oscar, look at me! I know and understand very well why you are feeling like this, But you are going to be okay after some time. I am sure. Meanwhile, even if you feel like this again, even if you want to run away somewhere with me, tell me. I'll run away with you together or we'll just hide somewhere until you feel safe again! But I promise you... I won't let you go... Okay?" Victoria asked carefully.

" Yes... "

 Victoria smiled and sat down beside him in his arms. As she rested on his chest, she asked.

" So? What do you want to do? Should we get court married or hold a wedding?"

Oscar hugged her tighter and said.

" No! I'll give you the most amazing wedding in the world. I was just out of my mind before. I will give you the very best!"

" Okay. I'll be waiting. I'll also give you an amazing wedding, Oscar!"

In their culture, they had two functions for weddings. One is held by the groom's family which will be the main ceremony while the other was held by the bride's family.

The first function will be held by the bride's family. They will have the reception while the groom's side will have the wedding on the next day.

" So when will it be? Can we do that in three days?" Victoria asked.

" Of course not. I'll try my best to make it within two weeks."

" You do know that we can't meet in these two weeks right?!"

" What?! Why?!" 

" You really didn't know! It's a traditional culture to make the wedding more fun. There are lots of things. Before you can enter my room, the bridesmaid and groomsmen will have a fight in which the groomsmen and groom have to fulfil the demands of the bridesmaid. Or else you can't enter the room. They either give some ridiculous tasks or ask for envelopes. I heard it's really fun though I never attended one."

" But I don't want to be apart from you... "

" At least they will let us talk on the phone. They even take away our phones sometimes. But I think they'll let us be as we can't take that much."

Oscar sighed. He was not ready to leave her yet.

" Don't worry! I will stay with you tonight. I will convince them somehow!"
