Chapter 6: Cold And Reserved

The theme of her office was wooden. It was plain but pleasing to the eyes. The desk in her office was made of glass while some other furniture was made of wood. The curtains were made of bamboo. They covered the window and the glass door of her office. Each and everything in her office was beautiful and luxurious. 

The other room in the compartment was given to her 2 employees. Haily was the one who helped her in office work while Jan was the one who was in charge of the investigation. They were both women. 

Jan was 37 years old and previously, she was in the military. However, she retired and Victoria hired her for this job. She was also good at martial arts and things like that. Haily came from a normal family. However, she only had a father whom she lost at 18. As she was searching for jobs and living quite poorly, Victoria found her and taught her the work. She was like Victoria's assistant and she was quite a fast learner. 

Victoria even allowed her to stay in the office as her place might not be that safe as she was living alone. The three of them had a very harmonious relationship. Victoria never scolded them even if they make mistakes. However, they rarely do that so she never really needed to scold them.

Haily was very determined and hard-working. Moreover, she was able to learn something as soon as she tried her best. So Victoria had no trouble teaching her and she always checks over her work in case she made a mistake. Haily had a warn and cheerful temper. She was quite a good company to keep around. She makes the atmosphere of the office relaxed and peaceful.

As for Jan, she was quite manly. She only comes to the office to report or rest as she didn't participate much in the office work. She was a very outstanding female soldier in the military. However, because they weren't fair with her and her colleagues, she left it.

One time, a female colleague of hers died in a fight against some terrorists and her death wasn't certified as it should have been. Therefore, Jan left the military 3 years ago in disappointment. Victoria met her through the apartment she was living in. 2 and a half years ago, Victoria shifted to a better place. As she was looking to sell her apartment, she met Jan who was also looking for an apartment. Jan brought the place and in that procedure, they came to know each other. After some time, Victoria came to know about her story and requited her. 

Jan willingly agreed as she was also looking for a job. Though her job was still risky, Victoria paid her well so she was more than happy to work for Victoria. She had been working with Victoria for over 2 years. She wasn't talkative but she was the type of person who enjoyed life. 

Haily was working for Victoria for over 3 years and at that time and now she was going to be 22 years old soon. At that time, Victoria wasn't that well known for her cases of victory but from there on, Victoria started getting more and more better in her job and won cases over cases. The most amazing thing about her was that she never lost a case. At the start, she didn't take many cases but as soon as she understands the way of the world, she took the cases and gained victory. 

Now, she was a well-known lawyer in the capital. As she didn't like to appear in public, she never agreed to do interviews. She had an official website where she gave any notice that she needed to.

Haily and Jan were both easy going and fun people. They both enjoyed life and talk about this and that. They also respected Victoria a lot but couldn't form a close relationship with her despite working with her for 2-3 years.  They knew very well how kind and soft-hearted Victoria was but she had such a cold and reserved nature that they couldn't get close to her. When she was fighting in the court, she even looked scary when she got angry but those who knew her felt warm instead as she got so angry for others.
