Chapter 13: Enchanted!

" I am Oscar. We met at the cafe yesterday. I am here to apologise for what happened. Please accept this as an apology."

Victoria remembered him now that he mentioned that incident. It had really spoiled her mood and she was still irritated thinking about that. Naturally, her first impression of Oscar went downhill. Not like she had a good impression of him. She just saw him as a  stranger. However, now that she knew he was the man from yesterday, her face went cold. 

" ..... " Oscar was getting really awkward as Victoria just looked at him without taking the bag. She had kind of a cold and despised expression on her face. Maybe it would have been better if he didn't confess about the incident. He should have rather meet her as a stranger. Seeing the awful atmosphere between them, Hailey stepped forward and said to Victoria in a whisper. 

" Sister Victoria, what's wrong? If you don't want to accept the gift, just reject it."

Victoria finally reacted but she still didn't take the bag from his hands and said coldly.

" Mr Oscar, I really don't understand why your here for such a small matter..." Then Victoria played with her nails before looking up and staring at him. She had a different and cold glint in her eyes as her lips curled in a smirk.

" Moreover, I am really curious how you reached here. I mean, we didn't have a talk and introduction. I didn't even look at your face properly. Just how did you find me here? I kept my face hidden from the media. I also have my personal information hidden. You can't give such a lame excuse that you were searching for the so-called lawyer Victoria, right? After all, everyone knows that I don't accept any cases for men."

Oscar was speechless. He really did intend to use that excuse but well, it seems that he got himself in trouble. 

Victoria was talking just like some villainous from the manga or novels. She had that evil grin on her face as she spoke. She unfolded her legs gracefully and bend slightly with her hands on the knees. She looked up at him and her smile faded as she asked in a chilly voice.

" Who are you?"

" ... "

Oscar didn't know what to say. He was sure that revealing his identity won't do him any good but not revealing it may be worse. Moreover, Victoria looked like the type who hated the person chasing them or rather had a bad impression of them. She seems like she would never accept someone chasing her unless she liked that person. If the person she likes chases her, it will be alright but if a stranger chase after her, it seems like that stranger would stoop down to a whole new level in her eyes. This type of people are rare in the world but there are such people. Someone who doesn't trust anyone easily or someone who thinks of men as only playboys would probably be like that. Usually, a mature girl or woman would never want to enter into a temporary relationship or a relationship that they don't have their faith in. A woman with morals would always look for a partner who would spend the rest of their life with her. Therefore, they tend to hate playboys. 

Victoria may not have been in this category before but now, she was surely like that. The cruelty of the world has robbed her fantasies of her dream spouse.

Oscar was really in a bad situation. He really regretted coming here so hastily just because he didn't have the patience. However, he didn't know that there wasn't any way to leave a good impression on her because of their faithful yet unfortunate encounter.

He was enchanted by her. After a long time, Oscar finally got up. Victoria was still looking at him coldly. He smiled helplessly and put the gift down on the table. Then he stared at Victoria in the eyes and said.

" Well, I couldn't expect any less from you. Victoria Helson. I know everything about you. Why do I know that? I leave that up to you. Before going, I will just inform you about something. From today onwards, I will start appearing near you but you would never be able to see me unless I want to. That's only because I know you don't like to be chased."

Victoria again told him in a cold voice. 

" I don't know what your thinking but I warn you! If you want to get closer to me because you have some ulterior motives like getting some information or making me let my guard down, then forget about it! I, Victoria Helson, Swore on my dignity as a lawyer that I will never fall for such a cheap trick!"

The office was really silent for a few seconds before Oscar smirked.

" That is if it's a trick. Sorry but this is one thing I could never give up on!"

After that, Oscar walked out as Victoria glared at him furiously. However, he stopped at the door and looked back.

" By the way, I am really sorry for what happened yesterday. That woman was after me but I got you involved in that. However, I am really glad about what happened... "

Victoria was shocked hearing him shamelessly say that he was glad about what happened even after ruining her mood. Then he continued and smiled innocently.

" ... Because I got to meet you." Then he comes back and put something in her hand. After that, he pulled her hair fringes behind her ear and said.

" Goodbye. See you soon." Then he disappeared outside. Victoria was really stunned.  She, who never held hands with a boy before when she was with her family and now where she hated men to her bones was suddenly hit upon by a stranger. She was so surprised by it that she froze in her spot. She hated herself for that. 

Finally, she looked down at her hands to see what he gave her. It turned out to be his car. It was a black card with words written in golden. On the front side of the card, it was written elegantly 'Lazslo Corporation with its logo in the background. On the backside, his name was written in golden.
