After landing, she saw the name Oita at the airport. She picked up the magazines related to Oita prefecture and came to know about some famous spots in Oita. However, she was of course not interested or enthusiastic about it.

Victoria looked around and planned to book a hotel and spend her time in the room. She felt guilty inside for making Oscar disappear. She didn't even meet his parents because she felt ashamed even though she wanted to ask them where he could be.

With such a depressed mood, she wasn't planning to enjoy anything. At that time, her bodyguard came in a car. She didn't know that their company had such a huge business in Japan. Well, they had branches all over Asia but she wasn't that interested in knowing about everything.

The car drove for over an hour. She sat silently waiting to arrive at the hotel. She saw many passes by and asked the guard where he was taking her. He told her that her room in already booked in a hotel and that's where he was taking her.

Victoria told him to take her to any near hotel but he said that her family did not allow her to stay anywhere else for a list of reasons like it's not safe or the environment is not good.

She knew there must be something else. She only realised when she saw a nameplate of Beppu written as they drove. So they were going to Beppu. She didn't have much knowledge about Japan though she wanted to visit. However, she just read in magazines about this place.

It's known for hot springs. It's quite famous. Even the food is steamed in natural hot springs. But Victoria again ignored it.

Finally, they stopped after some time. It was a hot spring hotel. Victoria knew her family would do something like this. She ignored the hot spring and just went into her room. After freshening up, she laid down on the bed staring at nothing. She was obviously thinking about Oscar.

Before she knew it, it was already dinner time. She wasn't hungry yet. However, since she didn't eat anything for the whole day, she started feeling hungry around 9:PM.

Victoria didn't like having someone she wasn't close to following her around. So she clearly told the bodyguard to go anywhere he'd like and not follow her. He wasn't listening but she called her brother and told him.

Mike only agreed after hearing about her martial arts awards. Victoria was great at martial arts. She wasn't able to beat a serial killer just like that after all. Finally getting the guard off her back, Victoria aimlessly walked to the less crowded place. She sat down in a mild-looking cafe. She couldn't speak Japanese and that's when she realised the problem. She tried talking in English but the owner didn't understand. Neither could she read the menu and she obviously didn't want to eat anything randomly.

In their country, they had particular types of food which don't include pork meat or such a variety of foods like in Japan. She was afraid she might eat something she could never imagine herself eating. In the end, Victoria walked out and walked aimlessly.

She saw huge steams flowing over a place and walked there. It was the hot springs area so there were a lot of hot springs and hotels which caused the people walking by to be hidden by the steam.

At first, Victoria thought about turning back and going somewhere else. But when she noticed that no one walks here a lot nor can see each other, she decided to walk on the path with the stream flowing over.

It was nighttime. There were lanterns in street with Japanese decorations. It gives a traditional yet beautiful feeling. The lanterns shone through the steam. Victoria could vaguely see the figures of people walking by.

The voices of people talking and laughing came from the hot springs. Victoria didn't care as she was in her own thoughts.

In the hot flow of steam which was almost making her feel like she was in a steam bath, she failed to see a figure almost crashing into hers. The light of the lantern blinked lightly.

The steam began to fade a little. Victoria was walking lost in her thoughts when she suddenly noticed someone walking toward her. They were both inches away and it looked like the other person couldn't see her either because of the steam.

She stopped hastily but thought that he may still crash onto her. Thankfully, that person wasn't so absentminded and stopped 4 steps away before he could crash into her.

Victoria was relieved. This place looked rather dangerous for someone like her who barely knew anything. She didn't even know any Japanese.

The steam began to fade. Victoria was lost in her thoughts as she looked up. Slowly, the fading steam exposed the face of the person in from of her and she stopped...
