Chapter 137: Worst-Case Scenario.

As soon as they entered the hospital, the director of the hospital greeted them politely. He came along with his assistant as such great figures were coming to meet them.

However, Oscar told him to not be extravagant so he just came along with his assistant. Oscar didn't want anything to go wrong. He called the director beforehand and had him ready the best gynaecologist in the hospital.

They didn't react much as they were engrossed in this news as followed the director to the elevator. The director could also feel their nervousness and didn't talk much. He immediately took them to the doctor.

Standing in front of the doctor's cabin, he politely told them.

" Please go ahead. The doctor is waiting for you."

They held each other tighter and entered the door. The doctor was a woman above 35 and was rumoured to be very good at her work. She was also very experienced in the field. She knew that the figures visiting her today was one of the greatest in all of the country and even the world so she was respectful and prepared.

She greeted them politely and asked them to sit down. Then she informed them that they would have to go through some tests to make sure everything is alright. It took them an hour to complete the test. Oscar was so nervous that he was sweating a little.

Then it took another half an hour for the test results to come out. They sat in front of the doctor anxiously. The female doctor known as doctor Melisa adjusted her specs and looked at them seriously. Then she asked.

" May I ask if Mrs Sebastian suffered from any serious injuries before?"

Hearing that, both Oscar and Victoria were stunned. Then they began to have cold sweats as fear engulfed their hearts. Victoria was unable to speak but Oscar still replied in a trembling voice.

" Y-Yeah. She did."

" Can I get the details of her records please?"

" W-Why doctor? Is-is there some problem?"

" I would like to know about her general situation before I gave you any answer."

Victoria and Oscar couldn't speak after hearing that. Their eyes went red and they tried their best to hold their fears in and not think of the worst scenario. Doctor Melisa also kept silent to give them some time before they could speak. In the end, Oscar tried his best to be calm and said.

" A few years ago, my wife suffered from severe life-threatening injuries. Which cause her to be in a coma for 2 years... It affected her health badly but there wasn't much harm to her uterus. We worked really hard to bring her back to health. She is alright now but still, her body is quite weak. Other than that, she recently had a car accident nearly three months ago. She suffered from a light concussion... But the doctors didn't say much about her being harmed in this matter!"

" Yes, but it doesn't mean that she is completely healthy. Everyone knows what your wife went through and coupled with the recent accident, I presume she ain't in the best condition. She is healthy but what it makes to have a child is more than a normal healthy."

Hearing this, Oscar's hand started trembling. And no one can imagine the situation Victoria would be in. The guilt she had buried with all the efforts she had come out all at once. A woman can never love someone as much as she loves her child. That is really true.

The mother's love is the grandest and no one can top it. Victoria might have been able to forgive herself for hurting her family and Oscar. But if, even if the slightest harm comes to her child because of that, she will never ever be able to forgive herself. Anything but the child. The innocent life which was yet to come shouldn't be harmed. And she being the reason would be the greatest failure of her life.

" Miss Victoria might seem healthy on the surface but you know that science works in a mysterious way. She ain't healthy enough to bore a child yet and I am afraid that complications might arise going further. But you still have a chance.

You have two options, first abortion. But it has a very bad side effect. She would probably never be able to bore a child if that happens but that's also very risky. With the state of her body, I have to say that abortion would affect her health as badly as that accident. And I dare say a person going through such an accident twice might not be able to live like a healthy person again. She will have to be extremely careful.

As for the other option that I can see you guys will choose, is to let her have the child. As the child grows big, her health will deteriorate. She won't be as hungry as other pregnant woman does because her stomach ain't even capable of eating the healthy amount of food she requires let alone her child.

But still, if we work really hard for her health, we might be able to have a successful delivery. However, your child will most likely have an immature birth. But that's still alright as we will be able to handle it. The doctors will save them.

As you know, the mother and the child are both near the door of death at the time of labour even for healthy people. So for Mrs Sebastian, we'll have to be extremely careful. But I ought to warn you sir, the slightest mistake or an accident would cause you a life. Either you will lose your wife or your child. And in the worst-case scenario, you may end up losing both.

So... This decision, you have to think about it very carefully. This is risky but as long as she has no further accidents and her health is looked after carefully, she is sure to survive along with your child. You should visit once a week and make sure your progress is good. With all the precautions we can take, I am sure we will be able to succeed."
