Victoria wasn't sleeping peacefully at all. After all that turbulence, she had messy nightmares and couldn't remember any of them. She woke up with a start and was dazed for a long time. She blinked and blinked trying to differentiate nightmare from reality.
Finally, her mind cleared a bit. Then she opened the bedside lamp and sighed tiredly. She suddenly felt hungry after waking up. Her emotions were also all over the place and she wasn't even sure about her feelings.
Then she finally noticed that there was no one else on the bed. She looked at the time; it was only 4:35 am in the morning. Oscar woke up very early but not this early. The earliest he wakes up is 5:30 am. She touched the quilt and found it so cold and lonely.
A trace of worry appeared in her mind. She forgets her hunger and incomprehensible feelings. She ignored it all and got up from bed. As she was still not clear-headed, she blinked for a while and stabilised herself. After taking a deep breath, she opened the lights and got used to them.
Then she went outside into the living room but Oscar wasn't there. Her eyes worriedly searched for his traces but she could find nothing. Then she looked in the kitchen and he wasn't there. Then she thought he might be on the balcony and went there.
The cold wind sent a chill down her body and she shuddered but he still wasn't there. She went back into her room and looked inside the bathroom but still couldn't find him. Her worry began to intensify.
Her emotions were getting up and down and she was still sensible enough to realise that it was because of her pregnancy and that she needs to cool down a little and think calmly.
Therefore, she went back to the kitchen and took out the cold water. She put it out in a glass. As she was drinking, she suddenly stopped at the half glass. Cold water in this weather was probably bad for her baby.
It was enough to cool her down. Then she remembered that they have more than one floor in their house. The upper floor was for the study room, etc. The ground floor consisted of sports and gym, etc. She thought for a moment and her instinct told her to go to the ground floor.
Then she went down and finally entered the ground floor. The rooms were divided through the glass. The lights on the floor were on and Victoria knew she was right. She worriedly walked forward while looking around the rooms for Oscar. After walking a few steps, she heard faint voices from the front.
Even though the rooms were divided by glass, they had a good soundproofing system so the voice wasn't loud. But when she reached the door and saw Oscar, her eyes went red.
She saw his back. He was wearing a black vest which was all wet with his sweat. His hair was all sticking to him. His exposed skin was a bit red. He was panting a lot. And below his white nightdress pants, his barefoot on the cold floor were red and blue. Not just from the cold but from kicking too much.
She saw him standing frozenly and then he raised his hands. He stared at his hands. Though Victoria couldn't see him, she felt his emotions. She also felt guilty for ignoring his emotions. She should have known how he would feel. He didn't sleep at all and was probably at him for more than 2 hours.
He looked so miserable that Victoria couldn't bear it. She couldn't bear to see the person she loved the most in this situation. She pursed her lips and tears started falling out of her red eyes.
When she realised that he was going to continue, she quickly opened the door and stepped inside. Before he could punch again, she hugged him from behind and said in a trembling and tormented voice as she cried.
" Please stop it, Oscar... "
Then she felt his body getting stiff. She hugged him tighter and tighter. His vest become wrinkled and she was trembling all over. While crying badly, she whispered to him in a desperate voice.
" It's enough... It's enough so please... Please don't hurt yourself anymore... Stop for me, hmm? "
She asked so tenderly as if the slightest up and down in her voice would break apart everything. Her voice was so soft and gentle with undisguised trembles and unbearable worry.
Oscar was still frozen in his spot. He couldn't digest anything for a while. He didn't expect to get caught. He didn't want Victoria to see this miserable side of him. He didn't expect her to wake up so early as they went to bed late. Especially since she was so tired last night.
Moreover, hearing her cry and feeling her trembling body against his back, he couldn't react for a while. He felt guilty and despicable for hurting her when she already had so much to bear. He felt bad for adding to her burdens. He couldn't already help her yet he was the first one to distress her.
Oscar felt so terrible at that moment and despised himself more than anything else. He felt like he was probably the most despicable person in the world. The most useless person who again and again failed to protect his beloved people. He wasn't able to protect her... Not even once. Whether it was the incident with Teddy or after her waking up from a coma or the recent accident.
All he ever did was just hurt her more and more again. Maybe it would be better had he not been by her side. Maybe she would have lived a better life. Now he really didn't know if his existence was of any use to Victoria.
Victoria was so worried about him that she forcibly calmed down and wanted to face Oscar and console him. Wanted to sort out things for him with love. She didn't want to and couldn't bear to hurt him in the slightest. She cried silently in her heart but put on a strong face and turned him around.
However, she was stunned when he didn't turn around. She applied more force but Oscar avoided her and turned his back to her. Victoria's strong face collapsed and she froze in her spot with tears streaming down her face.
How could her Oscar become get so broken that he couldn't even face her? Just what did she do to her love? Just how much is she destroying her love? Just how selfish of a human she is? Does she even deserve this beautiful person?
