Victoria smiled when she saw her mother as soon as she woke up but when her eyes fell on a familiar yet unfamiliar face, she squinted her eyes and asked suspiciously.

" Are you... Oscar?"

Sia was going to say something to Victoria when she heard Victoria asking Oscar. She went silent as she glanced at Oscar.

Oscar had a conflicted expression on his face. As he started at Victoria's eyes which he almost forget the colour of, he responded slowly.

Seeing Oscar nodding, Victoria fell into deep thought. No one knew what she was thinking as the atmosphere was suddenly silent.

" Uhm, Let's go back home since Victoria woke up. Oscar, get the car ready. I will bring Victoria."

Oscar kept looking at Victoria as he nodded lightly. Hearing Sia, Victoria finally got back to her senses and sat up with the help of her mother. As she wanted to stand up, her legs still felt weak and they started shaking. She held tightly onto Sia. Seeing this, Sia wanted to pick her up but she knew she wasn't strong enough. As she was thinking about what to do, Oscar came forward and hesitantly looked at them as he asked.

" May I... Take you to the car?"

Victoria was still not sure about Oscar. She didn't know much about him though he looked like a good person. She didn't want his help but she was helpless. She didn't know if there is a wheelchair in the hospital. Moreover, her mother wasn't strong enough to help her.

Seeing Victoria hesitating, Oscar's eyes dimmed. Sia saw the situation and spoke up.

" Victoria, let him help us. I don't want you to get hurt or strain yourself."

" Okay then." Victoria still felt that it wasn't a great idea but she trusted her mother and felt that they had no other option. It would be a hassle to bring a wheelchair and make her mother push it. Moreover, there were 2-3 steps at the entrance.

Oscar was nervous and timid. He clenched his hands and approached her carefully.

" Then, excuse me." He finally gathered up the courage and picked her up. Victoria felt very uncomfortable as she almost wanted to step down. But she already agreed and couldn't say no anymore. It would be disrespectful to him. As a person with manners, she knew what she should do and should not do.

However, Victoria didn't know why despite feeling uncomfortable she felt that his embrace was very warm and familiar.

Oscar was very gently all the way through. He carefully set her up in the car. After closing the door, he even opened the other side door. Only after Sia had sat down, did he close the door and went to the front seat.

Oscar started the car. On the way, the atmosphere in the car was silent and relaxed. Everyone was in their own thoughts. When they reached the cottage, Oscar helped them out. Victoria was feeling slightly better. She grabbed the support of Sia as she walked.

While walking down the path to the entrance, Victoria asked.

" This is a really beautiful cottage. Mamma, when did daddy buy it? I never knew such a beautiful place existed."

Sia was silent for a moment. She hesitatingly glanced at Oscar who also didn't know what to say. Seeing Sia looking at Oscar, Victoria had a guess but she wasn't sure. Sia sighed and told the truth.

" It's Oscar's."

" Oh... " Victoria didn't know what to comment on that.

They went inside the cottage. Oscar let them sit on the sofa comfortably. Then he went to bring them some warm water and tea.

" Victoria, our family doctor would be coming soon. Take a good rest until then. He has been watching you ever since you've been in a vegetative state."

" Hmm. Mamma. I have something to ask."

" Yes go ahead. Ask me anything."

" Well... Can you brief me on what happened while I was in a vegetative state? And for how long was I exactly in a vegetative state? Tell me everything from the start."

" I will tell you everything but can we do that after the doctor checks up on you? I am just worried about you. Nothing bad happened so don't worry. Just relax, okay?!"

" ...Okay." Victoria glanced at her mother's worried eyes. How could she believe that? Nothing bad happened? She was sure she had caused a lot of bad things to happen to her family. Her eyes dimmed but she knew it was no use getting depressed about this.

Victoria had a general idea about how long she had been unconscious but she wasn't clear about anything. For any person, waking up after 2 or more years felt like they had travelled into the future. That was obviously not something one can digest so suddenly. Everything felt novel to her.

Oscar came back with tea and water. He served them tea. Sia saw he was standing there like an outsider and felt bad. Until Victoria was unconscious, he was like a family member but now that she woke up, he was being extremely cautious about everything. He was suddenly acting like a distant relative. Not at all crossing the boundaries or being relaxed. She felt bad for him.

" Oscar, sit down. It's been some time since we sat down and talked."

" Y-Yes." Oscar glanced at Victoria but when their eyes met, he quickly averted his every and sat down.

Since she woke up, Victoria observed how strange Oscar was acting. Something about the way he is was bothering her. He looked a lot different from before in her eyes. She saw him as any young master of a wealthy family. She didn't have much opinion about him. Especially not anything good.

But now, even though he was simply sitting there, it bothered her. The way he looked at her, the way he talked, the way he acted around her, everything makes her troubled. She was feeling something that was irritating her.

Just as she was going to say something to Oscar that might've made him disappear from her sight, they heard rushed footsteps.

" Bang! " The door was opened.

Two figures stood at the door frozen. Unable to believe their eyes. The situation was quite similar to before. The only difference was that time, they rushed there because of world-shaking news but this time they rushed here because of miraculous news.

When she heard the voice, Victoria looked at the door and as soon as she saw the figures standing there, she stiffened. She stood up in shock even though she had to grab onto the armrest of the sofa. Her eyes reddened and her heartbeat fastened as she stared at them with inexplicable feelings.

" D-Dad! Mi-Mike! How... "
