Chapter 77: Grand Wedding.

" Mom, can I remain as your son?" Oscar asked in a low voice. A bit discouraged. Caroline finally breaks down.

She broke free from her husband's arms and hugged Oscar tightly.

" Stupid! Of course! You may disown us but parents can never disown their children! If you make such a stupid mistake again, I swear I will beat you to death!"

" Yes, Mom. You can do that if I ever do this again but I won't. I promise!"

After some time, Caroline and Andrew finally calmed down. Oscar went to greet Victoria's parents.

" Uncle, Aunt. How are you? Sorry for disappearing for so long. Mike, I made it hard for you right? I heard everyone's been searching for me until now. I am sorry for making this mess."

Mike shook his head and hugged Oscar.

" It's okay as long as your back, Brother."

" You really deserved a beating this time Oscar! Still, I am glad you are back." Sia also said emotionally.

" Well, Aunt, Ain't you all there to beat me then?" Oscar joked to lighten up the mood.

" It's good that you came back." Wick also said like a wise old man.

" Thanks, Uncle. It's all thanks to everyone."

" Uncle, Aunty. Please sit down. Mom and Dad, you guys also take a seat. Mike, do I need to tell you too? Sit down already. We have a lot to talk and we can't keep standing right?"

" Yes. Let's sit down." Sia said as she sneaked a glance between Oscar and Victoria. She was sure something is going on between them.

Everyone sat down. Lastly, Oscar and Victoria sat down side by side. They glanced at each other before looking away.

" So what happened? Sis, weren't you in Japan on the trip? How came your back just after a few days? Could it be that Brother called you in advance and told you that he is coming?!" Mike was being the silly brother like he always was.

" No. Idiot!"

" Then? And don't call me an idiot!"

" Idiot!"

" Okay stop both of you. You are not kids anymore! So, what happened?" Sia scolded her immature children and got to the main point. Victoria finally stopped joking and held Oscar's hand inside the table before she started.

" As you know, I was in Japan in the Oita prefecture. I rested in the hotel in Beppu town. Near midnight, I felt hungry and went out. While I was roaming around, I came face to face with him and that's how we met."

" And before I continue, Oscar, you need to tell them about what you've been up to all this time yourself." Victoria turned to look at Oscar and told him. She wanted him to tell them about what he has been doing for the past year himself.

At first, Oscar hesitated but he knew he needed to tell them. 

" I went to Japan when I disappeared. I lived there for the past year. I learned pottery and worked in a friend's shop. I lived a pretty civil life there. And then a year later, I accidentally met Victoria." 

Of course, everyone knows it wasn't as simple as that. It was no secret he didn't bring anything with him. He left almost penniless. That worried them more. So he must have struggled to make a living there. And no matter if it's a capable or kind person when they lived a life like Oscar, it would be very hard for them to live in such poor conditions. They will have many struggles just getting used to things.

However, no one wanted to spoil the mood by asking that. Moreover, this was all in the past. They didn't need to dig up something that won't affect their lives anymore.

" And then?" Mike asked.

Victoria was going to speak but Oscar grabbed her hand. Before she could react, he brought her right hand up and his too. Cleary showing their rings.

" We want to get married!" He said in an extremely serious and determined tone.

Everyone was shocked. Well, even though the distance may have made them long for each other, to directly want to marry wasn't something anyone was expecting. They were still not sure if Victoria even liked him let alone marry him.

As everyone was frozen in shock, Oscar put their hands down and spoke.

" We got together when we met. Then I proposed to Victoria after a day. I couldn't let her go once she agreed to be mine. So I am in quite a hurry to marry. I want to marry her in three days!"

" Easy! Easy! Brother! You guys can't just drop a bomb on us one after another. And a wedding in three days?! Do you seriously think it's possible with both of your statuses?!"

Victoria and Oscar's parents also returned to their senses. Both of them were happy for their children and still in the after-effects of shock.

" Oscar, you are inheriting the Lazlo Corporation. And Victoria is the eldest daughter of Samuelson. Moreover, she is well-known around the world. Both of you held important identities. You have to wait at least a month so that we can prepare. You want to marry and we happily agree but don't mess things up just because you are in hurry." Andrew lectured him.

All the other elders agreed with him and nodded their heads. 

" No! I don't want any grand wedding or anything! I just want to get married. We will get married in court. We don't need the grand wedding your gonna plan. I just want to marry her."

" Oscar, even if you want that, there are still around 200 people we can't just not invite. It would be disrespectful. Victoria also has her family and friends she can't just ignore for such an event as big as her wedding! Why are you in such a hurry? You are being inconsiderate! You didn't even ask Victoria. Don't you care to think about what she wants for her wedding?! " Andrew scolded Oscar. He didn't want Oscar to mess up his own wedding.

" I... " Oscar couldn't say anything. He realised his mind wasn't working.

Victoria grabbed his hand and rubbed it. She gazed at him deeply. Oscar looked back at her. Somehow hiding his vulnerability but Victoria could see it clearly.

He was extremely scared to lose her. He was feeling like he would lose her the moment he let go of her hand.

Seeing the way he looked at her, Victoria's heart broke. She couldn't bear to see that pain in his eyes. For a man like Oscar to look this vulnerable was something Victoria couldn't take. She felt like she broke the perfect and invulnerable person called Oscar.

" May I talk to him?" Others nodded at her. They knew Oscar needed to calm down and it looked like Victoria was the only one who would be able to do that.

Victoria took Oscar's hand and took him to the balcony. The room was large and the balcony was huge. The view was beautiful. As they stood by the railing, Victoria turned to face Oscar while still holding his hands. He was still looking like that. Like she was going to break his heart.
