Chapter 7: Revenge On Her!

The other room was well set up for Haily and Jan. They both had a desk for themselves with computers and etc. They also had a bookshelf for office files and investigation files. There was a set of sofa in their office where they can rest.

In the kitchen, they also had some medical kits for an emergency. This was all designed by Victoria. Jan and Haily liked it a lot.

When she entered the compartment, as usual, Jan wasn't there. Haily greeted her warmly and prepared coffee for her. As she sat down in her office, she rested her head on the chair and closed her eyes. Just then, they heard the bell ring. Victoria thought it was Jan, but then Haily knocked on the door and informed her.

" Sister Victoria, a guest is here for you. She came by the name of Briana." 

Victoria looked at Haily and asked again.

" Briana?! Are you sure?"

" Yes. She said she had something to tell you!"

" Okay. I am coming. Serve something to her."

" Yes... "

Haily went out and closed the door. Victoria wondered why Briana had come here. It has been more than three years since she last met her. She thought they would never meet again but here she is.

After straightening her clothes, she walked out in her high heels. 

She saw Briana sitting on the couch looking restless. Her eyes were a little red. As soon as she saw Victoria, she got up and looked anxious. Victoria walked towards her and asked her.

" What happened? Why are you so anxious?!" Victoria put her hand on Briana's shoulder to calm her. However, Briana suddenly hugged her. Victoria was stunned as she froze.

After a long time, she finally asked," What happened?! Why are you acting like this?"

When Victoria tried to pull her out of her embrace, Briana hugged her tighter and said.

" Something... Something happened to her... "

Victoria froze. A cold glint flashed through her eyes. The hall was suddenly filled with eerie silence. The coldness emitting from Victoria seemed to reach Haily in the kitchen who shuddered. Victoria's tired face was now cold. So much so that it was scary to others. 

" What happened?" Victoria asked. Her voice looked so calm that it scared Briana. It just looks like the calm before the storm. The coldness and strangeness in her voice were foreign to Briana. She stopped crying at looked at Victoria. It had just been 3 years but Victoria felt like a different person. She was so cold that Briana thought she mistook her for someone. She wonders what happened for Victoria to turn out like this.

" I am asking you what happened?" As she was in a daze, Victoria asked her again in a cold voice.

Briana shuddered and said," He-He got bail from the jail and-and he took his revenge on her... " She said with a trembling voice as some tears fell from the corner of her eyes.

Victoria still looked calm but this calmness was scaring the hell out of Briana and Haily.

" What did he do to her?" She again asked in an empty voice but because it was empty, it looked colder than anything.

" He wanted to force himself upon her. He didn't know we had a relationship. So when she told him she is with me, he got furious and said some dirty things to her. Then he beat her up. She called me and when I reached there, she said he warned her to warn me that he will come for me. Then she fainted. She is hospitalized right now. I came as soon as I can... "

" Which hospital is it?" 

" Ha? Oh, it's the first hospital."

" Let's go. "

Victoria went inside her office and picked up her coat. She dropped int over her shoulders and picked up her car keys from the table as she went out. Briana was stunned for a moment before she followed Victoria. 

Before closing the door, Victoria said to Haily. 

" Don't open the door without checking who it is. Take care and go home if I don't come back until 18:00. You can also sleep here if you want. Don't wait for me."

Then, before Haily can reply, she closed the door.
