Chapter 24: Challenging To React.

" Jenny! Did she say anything last night? You said she dropped me off!" 

" No. She was quite silent and reserved. However, she looked like a good person. She was even considerate that we are too old to get you to your bedroom and helped us. Why are you asking like that? Is something the matter?"

" ... No it's nothing." Sue went back as she was going to wash up. She was worried about what happened last night and also a little scared.

As she was going to enter the bathroom, she noticed something on her table. It looked like a note. She picked it up and opened it. It was a message from Victoria.

" I am sorry about what happened. I deliberately approach you to get the information. However, don't worry. I won't involve you in anything dangerous. Also, I am sorry for lying. My name is not Jenny.

 I am just someone who needed to know this information. It was really helpful. Thank you for that. As a return to the favour, I'd like to give you some reminders. Always close the doors and windows of your house. Be careful before opening the door to the strangers and if possible, carry a self-defence item with you. 

Lastly, I would really appreciate it if you don't go drinking alone. Especially, at night. This is my work and it is my duty to remind you. Well then, Goodbye.

From Jenny... "

Sue was shocked. She wasn't expecting this. She felt complicated about this whole matter. The next day, she went to the police station and revealed all the information she had. She kept the letter hidden within her locker. This incident was something that really affected her. She decided that she would listen to Jenny and not a go-to bar. At least until the criminal behind this is found. She also decided to close the door and windows without forgetting. She also told her friend about it for their safety. She didn't know if she was scared of what happened. She didn't know if she was afraid of this so-called 'Jenny' or whatever. She couldn't figure it out yet. However, she didn't know that one day, she would look up to this person like how a kid would look up to a superman.

Victoria didn't come to the office for several days. Jan and Hailey worked on their tasks while they worried about her. After a week or so, Victoria finally come back. She found out that they recruited three people. However, to pass the final stage, they would need to pass the interview Victoria would take. 

When she come, all three of them were present. They were working on the matter at hand. Victoria came after she freshened up and wore a blue suit. However, this couldn't hide her dark eyes and the dark circles. She looked weak right now. Still, she was admirable. The three people they recruited of course knew about Victoria. Two of them were well known in the industry but nothing compared to Victoria. 

The first thing she did was to deal with urgent matters. Finally, after finishing that, she called the three newcomers for the interview. Just then, Hailey said.

" Sister Victoria, It's lunchtime. We were all busy these days. How about you interview them after lunch?"

" I am not hungry. You guys go out to eat or call takeover. We will have the interview after that. Put the lunch on my tab. It's my treat today."

Newcomers didn't know anything and were happy as they found Victoria kind but they didn't know the hard part has yet to come. Hailey looked sad and disappointed. She could notice how worn out Victoria was. She really wasn't in a good condition. Now, she even refused to eat.

After lunch, they finally sat together. Jan was also back. Jan and Hailey sit aside without interfering with the interview. At first, Victoria asked them general questions about law and etc. They answered in a good way. Then, she began asking questions that were challenging to react to. They were stunned.
