Chapter 151: Break Down.

Hearing him, everyone felt their hearts breaking. When they heard Victoria say she didn't want to die, they felt like someone was wringing their heart. But when they heard Oscar, they felt like their heart was ripping apart.

Everyone was so devasted that they couldn't speak. All along they were trying to think positively even after hearing Victoria. Even after seeing their miserable condition, they wanted to hold on to that tiny hope that things would not be this worse. That Victoria was just thinking negatively with all these mood swings and all. But man, they were all wrong.

After a while, Oscar controlled his emotions and calmed down. He looked up and saw that everyone was still in denial. They were all so stunned by the news that they couldn't speak.

His heavy eyes looked at them deeply as he said.

" You guys don't have to worry about me. It's hard on me. But I promise I won't break down unless and until the worst happened. As long as Victoria is healthy and stable, I can keep up with it. But I need her to be fine. That's all it takes for me to be fine. That's why I called you guys here. Other than the good news, I wanted everyone to help us. To help me take care of her and make sure nothing goes wrong. I'll discuss the details later. I want to be by Victoria's side right now. I will excuse myself now."

Oscar left. He didn't want to be comforted. He was too tired. He was too tired of this all. Of this mess. Of this fear that always finds its way back the moment he relaxes. If only he could make sure to keep her safe.

Oscar shut the door after coming inside. He strode towards the bed and sit beside her on a chair. He took her hands in his and stared at her for a long time. Unlike his usual warm and loving gaze, he gazed at her with complex emotions.

While waiting for her to wake up, he dozed off. He hasn't slept properly since he knew about the baby. And now, he was too tired to stay awake. As soon as he felt her warmth, he wanted to sleep. But he was worried about her so he dozed off.

Victoria woke up after more than 3 hours. It was almost 1 am in the morning. It took her a while to regain her senses as she tiredly blinked her eyes. It was all dark and she was confused. Slowly, she recalled what happened and woke up.

That's when she felt the warmth coming from her palm. She propped herself up with the support of her elbow and looked down. Her hair gently waved down from her neck to her collarbone.

Her eyes turned warm as she saw him sleeping. Her thick eyelashes fluttered with her trembling emotions. A smile swept up her beautiful face.

She raised her other arm and rubbed his head gently. And in the softest voice, she called out.

" Oscar."

Oscar wasn't sleeping comfortably nor was he sleeping deeply. So when Victoria tried to wake him up, he began to take up. Hearing her voice cleared his hazy mind a little bit. He raised his head and tried to see her amidst the darkness.

" Don't sleep like that. Come up." Victoria said while looking at him tenderly.

Oscar returned to his senses and asked her in his slightly hoarse voice.

" When did you wake up? How are you feeling? Sorry I dozed off. Wait for a moment. I'll call the doctor."

After saying that, he tried to stand up but Victoria held him down. She pulled him closer and touched his face. She couldn't see him clearly but felt his familiar warmth. As she felt his face with her thumb, she spoke as softly as ever.

" Don't do that. I am fine. It's too late to call the doctor. I just got anxious before."

" No. I don't care if it's late. You're more important to me. I won't take any risk in these matters. Even if you say so."

" I am really fine. Before, I was just... Anyway, I am okay right now. You can check it yourself. Don't go, okay? I am sleepy and I wanna be with you."

" But I can't do that... "

" Please, Oscar."

Oscar stared at her silently. Finally, he gave up and sighed.

" Alright but let me check if your okay then we'll see."

Oscar opened the lights and checked her forehead. Then he looked at her complexion. After confirming several times, he rests assured.

" I'll let it go for now. Do you want water? Are you hungry?"

" I'll just have water. You drink some too. Your voice is hoarse."

Oscar poured her some and after she had drank, he drank a little himself.

Seeing him done drinking water, Victoria told him.

" I am sleepy. I want to be in your arms."

Oscar's eyes warmed up hearing her. He thought about it and went up on the bed. As soon as he lay down, Victoria wrapped her arms around him and embraced him. He hugged her back greedily for her warmth.

After a while, Victoria spoke in a low voice.

" Oscar."

" Hmm?"

" I am sorry."

" For what?" Oscar kissed her hair and her rubbed her shoulder.

" For scaring you today. I've been hurting you a lot these days. Don't say that it's not my fault. We decided to be each other's support and I kept crumbling down. But I know we have made up our minds so don't worry. I promise that I won't break down anymore. I really won't. Trust me."

After a while, Oscar's voice sounded.

" Hmm. We will be fine."

" Yeah. Oscar, I think we should best forget about this. We don't have to be so negative. Even if the whole world wants us to think badly, we should think good and be happy. I think that by doing so things will really change. I believe we'll be able to pass this phase easily and successfully."

" Yes. I was thinking the same. I will talk with our family and we'll set everything up."
