Chapter 148: You've Really Grown Up!

Though they had all thought about this possibility, they were still stunned when they heard Victoria. After a few seconds, Sia and Caroline reacted similarly. They stood up in shock and looked at each other. 

After confirming that they were not dreaming, an uncontrollable smile spread on their faces helplessly. Sia's eyes went slightly red as she approached Victoria and gave her a hearty hug. 

Victoria was also feeling emotional after all of this. She smiled and hugged her mother tighter. After realising that life was inside her, she finally knew how much her mother loves her. 

Truly, a mother's love is incomparable to any other. Then she heard Sia say.

" Our little daughter has really grown up now. She is even going to become a mother. Congratulations, my child."

She pulled out of the hug and patted Victoria's head as she used to when Victoria was young. Victoria smiled with red eyes and said to her.

" But Mom, I'll always remain your little daughter. Your granddaughter is your granddaughter but I am and will always be your little spoiled daughter."

" Yeah, you are Mom's sweetheart," Sia replied with just as much love.

On the other hand, after digesting the news, Caroline was also feeling emotional. She was going to become a grandmother. That wasn't what stunned her so much. It was the realisation that Oscar was actually going to become a father. She felt like he was still a child himself. After all, in the eyes of the parents, children always remain children.

She approached him and gave him a warm hug. Then she said emotionally to him.

" Congratulations, son. You're going to be a father. Now you'll have a small family of your own. Your life is just getting started."

" Hmm. Thank you, Mom."

Then Caroline hugged Victoria and congratulated her too.

" Thank you dear for bringing so much happiness into Oscar's life. And also for gifting us with such a treasure."

" Don't say that Aunty. It is my pleasure to become a mother."

Wick and Andrew then congratulated them happily. They were also happy to hear that a new member will be added to their family. 

" Sis!" Hearing the loud exclamation, everyone was startled. Sia then turned angrily to her son and wanted to scold him since he forget his manners. But before she could even speak, Mike rushed forward and hugged her tightly. 

" Oh, God! Sis! Are you serious?! I am actually going to become an Uncle?! I am feeling so strange and excited. My blood is boiling. I don't know what I am going to do. I am actually going to be an uncle!" Victoria laughed helplessly at his childish reaction and said.

" Now mature up. You will be having someone to take care of and spoil. Be a great uncle."

" Is that something that even needs to be said?! Of course, I'll be the best uncle."

Then Mike left Victoria and went to Oscar. He hugged him and congratulated him.

" Brother, congratulations. I can't believe this stage has come so quickly. I am so excited and happy for you."

It took a long time for everyone to calm down a little. As they sat down again, Oscar thought about talking to them about his plan. 

When they listened to his idea, everyone was in approval. They all felt it was better to live with her parents at such a time. Then when Victoria suggested to Oscar's parents to live with them together, they were surprised and felt touched.

They then replied that they will move after a while. They were originally going to travel again but after hearing this news, they instantly cancelled all the plans and would stay here to welcome their grandchild. 

As they all kept discussing this and that, Victoria noticed her mother was silent and seemed to be thinking something serious. So she asked worriedly. 

" What's wrong Mom? What are you thinking about?"

" Oh. Nothing. By the way, this was the only news right?"

" Yeah, Mom what's wrong?" Victoria was confused as she asked.

" Well, the thing is, Oscar looked in quite a bad shape this morning. It reminded me of how he was when you were in a coma and I got scared. You guys visited the hospital, right? Everything is truly fine, right?"

Sia asked with unconcealable worry in her eyes. After hearing her, everyone's excitement got replaced with uneasiness. 

Victoria and Oscar were startled. Oscar looked down as he felt his eyes would betray him. Meanwhile, Victoria was again reminded of the reality and pain swept into her eyes. But she tried her best to hold it in. Her slightly red eyes shook before they went back to normal and smiled nonchalantly as she replied to Sia.

" What are you saying, Mom? I am perfectly fine along with my child. We went to the hospital as soon as I knew about my pregnancy. We went to the best gynaecologist in our country so rest assured."

However, who were they trying to fool? Neither Victoria could hide the pain in her eyes from her mother nor could Oscar fool anyone with his obvious strangeness. 

Seeing that, both Sia and Caroline's hearts collapsed as all the happiness vanished and turned to fear. They felt cold chills down their spine just thinking about the possibility that is so scary.

" What are you guys hiding from us?!" 

Sia and Caroline asked simultaneously with scary seriousness. There was no room for hiding. Seeing them still not speaking, Caroline who was always the calmest in this family spoke in a cold chilly voice. 

" Oscar, I am asking again. What are you hiding?! Victoria, tell us the truth. Do you guys think that you've really grown up so much to hide such things? You are more immature than anyone else by doing this!"

Everyone was stunned by her cold voice. Oscar has heard his mother's cold voice before when something happened in the company and she was reprimanding someone. But for the first time, he heard this cold voice that he thought would never be directed towards him, actually questioning him. 

He was stunned and couldn't speak. Then he turned to Victoria. As they looked at each other, they finally lost the facade that they'd been holding up since the morning. They have cooly decided to pretend that none of the bad news existed but how can they actually do that? They have just been forcing themselves to act like everything is alright.
