Chapter 49: Are you... Oscar?

" Haaa... Haa... Haaa... " 

Everyone was crying hard. Sia was so sad that she couldn't stop but then she noticed that Victoria was acting a bit strange. She quickly pulled her out of her embrace and that's when she saw that Victoria was turning a little pale. She looked like she couldn't breathe.

" Vic-Victoria! What's wrong dear?!" Sia began to panic badly seeing Victoria like that. 

" Haaa... Haaaa... " Victoria's eyes went bright red as she clenched her chest and grabbed Sia with the other hand for support. She wanted to speak but couldn't say anything. She was having a hard time breathing. 

" Victoria! Doctor! Call Doctor!" 

The cafe couple were stunned but seeing the severity of the situation, they quickly ran to look for the doctor. As soon as Oscar noticed that something was wrong, he quickly ran inside and bent down to Victoria.

" What's wrong with Victoria Aunty?!" His face was also so tense and worried.

" I-I don't know Oscar! Please... Please help her... " Sia was not able to handle herself. She was relieved to saw Oscar and asked him to help her. Oscar was like a son to her. They spent 2 and a half years together. At first, she wanted to tell him to restart his life and that he didn't need to leave everything for Victoria. But Oscar was so persistent that she gave up in 3 months. Since then, she treated Oscar like her own son and took care of him. In a way, they both took care of each other and somehow survived until now.

Oscar reacted quickly and picked up Victoria. As he walked towards the ward, he hastily told Sia.

" Aunty! Please bring the doctor quickly while I took her to the ward!"

" Y-Yes! I will bring him right now!" Sia also calmed down seeing Oscar react so quickly. She was the elder and couldn't collapse right now or who would help them. But she was still shivering as she walked. After all, Victoria just woke up and the situation was very dangerous. What if... What if she again fell into a vegetative state. She shouldn't have gotten up from bed but because no one stopped her, she was in this situation. 

Just as Sia was going to look for the doctor, the aged doctor rushed in. Seeing the doctor she was relieved and quickly brought him to where Oscar took Victoria.

Victoria's chest was hurting badly. Not being able to breath, tears automatically fell out of her red eyes. As she held on tightly to Sia, she heard Sia talking to someone but she couldn't focus because of pain. 

When she was suddenly picked up, Victoria subconsciously curled up as she was not used to it. Somewhow, she felt whoever this person was felt warm. Usually she didn't like being touched by strangers and especially men but today she was so vulnerable that she didn't have any option but to comply with it. 

As Oscar put Victoria down on the bed, the doctor walked in and quickly checked upon her. Everyone went out to let the doctor treat Victoria. After 20 minutes, the doctor walked out. Everyone was waiting anxiously outside the door. 

Seeing that, the doctor informed them.

" Don't worry. She is alright. She had a panic attack. However, I suggest that you don't let this happen again. Her body is extremely weak and if she were to have occasional panic attacks, it would not be good for her. You are her mother right. Make sure to bring her health back. As a human, she won't be able to survive with such a weak body. The snowfall or heatwaves will make her fall sick. Was she in coma or something? Because only such patients are as weak as this."

" Thank you doctor. We will make sure to bring her health back. Yes she was in a vegetative state until recently."

The doctor was shocked. After a moment, he smiled.

" She is one lucky girl. Waking up from a vegetative state is a rare thing. Moreover, she is alright as long as she takes good care of herself. Usually, such patients suffer from one thing or another. But since she just woke up, make sure she doesn't strain herself. Niether physically or mentally. It's best that she stays stable. As for her therapy, let her exercise very lightly."

" Yes Doctor! Thank you. Can I see her?"

" Yes you can but she fell asleep because of the insulin. Let her take a good rest. Then you can bring her home. Call me if anything happens. I will always be in the hospital."

" Thank you so much doctor!"

" Well then." 

The elderly doctor was good at his work and he was also very kind. He actually worked at city before and was one of the best doctor. When he reached his retirement age, he came back to his birthplace and lived here. He also wanted to dedicate the rest of his life to this town and its people. So he brought the hospital and improved the conditions here. He had some shares in the hospital he worked before and he was quite wealthy. The government also gives donations monthly. 

Oscar and Sia went inside the room. Seeing Victoria sleeping peacefully without the previous machines attached to her, they again realised that she truly woke up. Sia gently rubbed Victoria's hair and turned to Oscar.

" Oscar, I will go make some calls. Did you bring your car here? We will take her back when she wakes up."

" The car's at the cottage but I will bring it here. You can go and take your time. I will go after you come back."

" Okay. Thank you!" Sia smiled and left. 

Sia opened her phone. Her hands were still shaking with excitement as she called.

After she came back, Oscar left to bring the car. He arrived back and Victoria was still sleeping. 

She finally woke up after nearly 2 hours. She first saw her mother and smiled. She missed her mother. Then she saw someone beside her mother and looked there. She saw a familiar face which looked a little different than before. Victoria squinted her eyes as she looked at him carefully.

" Are you... Oscar?" She asked in a light tone.
