Oscar was tired from work. He went to work after a long time and he had a lot of things to look over. He also had to meet a lot of people and it was basically quite hectic. However, he left work as soon as Victoria's work time was over as he had to pick her up. He preferred to drop her off and pick her up every day.
Her job was dangerous and even though there were bodyguards, he couldn't risk it. So he reached her office on time and went in. Everyone knew who he was so they greeted her. When he reached the top floor, Victoria's assistant informed him that she left an hour ago without informing them where she was going.
Oscar was always sensitive about her protection so he instantly called her while walking down. After ringing three times, the phone was picked up. He felt relieved and called out to her.
" Hello? Victoria? Where are you? I am at the office but they said you have left an hour ago. You didn't go to investigate did you?"
Oscar started getting tensed just thinking about it. The nightmare of his life was her accident with that serial killer. It left such trauma on him that even if he knows he is being over-sensitive and it might be annoying, he couldn't help it. Even a lifetime wouldn't be enough for him to recover from such a trauma.
When he didn't hear her reply, he felt a strange sense of uneasiness in his heart. His heartbeats fastened as if desperately trying to mingle with someone else's to survive as he said with a little tremble in his voice.
" Victoria? Are you there? Is everything alright? Where are you? I'll come to pick... You... "
" Thud!" The loud sound of something crashing numbed Oscar's senses. His mind went blank. He was frozen as it is. He stopped breathing so that he could hear the voices clearly.
" V-Victoria! W-What happened? Are you... " His hand holding the phone and the other on the steering wheel started shivering as he asked in a trembling voice. He was just asking when he heard another sound.
" Screech... Thud... "
" VICTORIA!!!" He screamed her name at the top of his lungs hearing the continuous sounds of crashing.
" Victoria!!! Victoria! Victoria!" Screaming her name again and again he called out to her desperately and then a voice came from the phone.
" Ding... Ding... Ding... "
Hearing that voice, Oscar suddenly froze. His pupils contracted and then a mad crazy look entered his eyes. He suddenly punched the window of the car with his elbow. The glass broke down injuring him. The madness in his eyes didn't lessen. His mind stopped working for a few seconds.
Then he picked up his phone and quickly opened the GPS app. Victoria always wore or took that locket with her. When he saw her location, he drove towards there in full speed while narrowly escaping a disaster. While he drove crazily, the GPS's mechanic voice sounded.
" Change the route. Take XX Lane from here. There was an accident on... "
Oscar felt like he was totally losing himself. He was going crazy and all that remained in his mind was the scene where he reached the underground base and found her dying.
When he reached there, the car was still releasing smoke but there was an ambulance and rescue team. Oscar just got out of his car and saw Victoria being taken out of the car. The road was almost vacated with the traffic police blocking the area. Seeing him approaching, they tried to stop him but Oscar shook them off so badly that they fell to the ground.
They just put her on the stretcher when Oscar reached them. He stared at Victoria with inexplicable eyes and couldn't say anything. Blood dripped down his elbow but he had no idea.
Victoria was still dressed in the blouse without her blazer. Some thin glasses scratched her body. Small stains of blood could be seen over her blouse while a little blood flowed down from the side of her head. Her eyes were closed with no information about how she was.
" Sir! Move away! The patient needs emergency treatment!" Oscar couldn't hear anything.
" Look! He is also bleeding badly. He might be involved in the accident too! Let's take them together!"
Oscar was dragged with Victoria. He didn't know his state of mind. He felt like he was getting mentally destroyed with blank eyes. He had no idea how long passed as a few people hastily rushed into the hospital. Their families.
Everyone was so worried and unable to control their fears that when they saw Oscar, they wanted to ask him what happened and how is she and many things but everyone froze as they were when they saw him. Andrew and Caroline were also there.
Oscar was slumped on the ground against the wall. His eyes were on the light of the OT. They were not blinking or anything. They looked dead. So dead that everyone's heartbeat halted in fear. They were scared that he wasn't alive anymore.
A nurse was talking around him trying to convince him to get treated as he bled but it was like she was talking to a dead corpse who can't react to anything.
" Os-Oscar!" Sia was the first one to call out. Hearing her voice, Oscar's eyes slightly moved.
" What happened... Dear? What... What happened to my daughter?" She broke down crying.
Oscar's red eyes which were dripping tears were still blank. He looked back at the OT lights as if he couldn't hear what was going on. All on his mind was Victoria and her blood.
God knows after how long, the lights went off and the door opened. Oscar finally moved for the first time since then. He felt dark all around and held the wall for support but he used his injured hand. It caused him to stumble and fell down pathetically. His eyes were blurry and they were getting dark. Blood started dripping faster and he somehow stood up. Mike supported him but Oscar didn't know anything.
" She is alright now. It was a light concussion and other than some light external wounds, she didn't suffer any injuries. However, her body seems quite weak so be careful with the recovery process."
It was probably because of the quality of the vehicle that she survived. Otherwise, things might be very serious right now.
" Oscar, she is alright! Let's get you treated! Come one!" Caroline was crying seeing her son's condition. After hearing the doctor, she quickly approached him and told him to get treated. But it was like he was deaf.
He seemed like he couldn't hear anything. He seemed a mentally retarded person who lost his senses. He couldn't even walk or see properly. That was making Caroline scared. Sometimes, she felt his love for Victoria was poison to him yet at the same time it was his heaven.
