Chapter 50: She Was Despising Me.

Sia and Oscar sat beside the bed waiting for Victoria. As they waited, Sia glanced at Oscar and thought for a while before she spoke.

" Do you mind me asking a personal question? It's okay if you don't want me to ask."

" Please go ahead, Aunty."

" Well, I just want to ask you how was your relationship with Victoria? I know your feelings for her and I also know you have been pursuing her. But what was the status of your relationship."

Oscar went silent for a while. Sia felt bad for making him uncomfortable and said.

" You don't have to answer if your feeling uncomfortable. Really!"

" That's not it Aunty. If I share it with you, I think you might understand our situation better than I do because I am still so confused about her feelings. And even if she ends up completely rejecting me, I won't bother her. I don't want to be despised by her. I sincerely wish that she can have a smooth life from now on."

" If I can really help you, that's great. You are a good man Oscar."

Oscar smiled a bit mockingly. What matters is that Victoria thinks he is a good man. But she didn't.

" I met Victoria in a restaurant. My father was bothering me by setting up blind dates because he wanted to see me settle but I was never interested in any girls. Until now, I didn't really fall in love with anyone. That day, my blind date partner was bothering me a lot. I ran out abandoning her in the elevator but she threw her coffee at me. I subconsciously dodged but Victoria was behind. She probably didn't have a good impression of me. 

As you know, since I was young I didn't need to ask for anything and I have never been in a relationship so I didn't know how to pursue her. I foolishly visited her in the office. She directly shut me off. But I liked her so much that I wanted to see her all the time. So I thought I shouldn't approach so fast and waited hours outside her office to glance at her. Sometimes, I also followed her because her job was quite dangerous and I was worried.

 A little while before the accident, she came to me. She told me furiously that if she saw me ever again, she would not let me go. When I saw that she was despising me, I was quite sad. But I knew she was investigating the serial killer herself so I was worried and followed her. I never thought she would go as far as to get captured. And then before I knew she was gone... I just don't want to be despised by her. I am really okay with loving her. I don't want to be with her forcefully. After all, Aunty I was so blessed from childhood that I feel like I am asking for too much... "

Sia was also silent. She didn't know how to answer at first but then she said.

" Although Victoria must have changed a lot in the past few years but as her mother, I know her deep inside. One thing that will never change about her is... her kindness. Victoria may not have a good impression of you yet but believe me, Victoria is very vulnerable when it comes to love. Whether it is to love or be loved, it's very easy for her. She falls in love easily that's why she has always been cold and distant to men. She didn't want to fall for someone wrong. It may take some time, but I think Victoria will come to love you one day."

When Oscar heard that, a hope ignited in his heart. He was glad that Sia thought he was worthy of Victoria's love. 

" Thank you, Aunty. No matter what happens, I promise I will never hurt Victoria. And I will always remember you. You are like a mother to me. I won't forget your kindness."

Sia smiled. They talked casually for a while as they waited for Victoria to wake. Sia also told Oscar that Wick and Mike have already ascended the helicopter and may arrive anytime soon. 

Sia was staring at Victoria lovingly when she felt her eyes flutter as they opened.
