Chapter 119: If She Truly Loved Him.

" Victoria went to a bar to investigate. The culprits of the case had a criminal background. They were probably from the underworld. She found some clues which made them wary of her. They tampered with her car. I just checked up with it and her brakes were not working and that's why she ended up in this state... "

Victoria looked down and avoided everyone's stares as she knew she was wrong. She felt guilty but she didn't expect to encounter such a situation. Usually, they would attack directly but this time they attacked her from the back which was quite a lame and cowardly move.

Everyone was disappointed with Victoria for taking such an action. It could have been much more dangerous. She should have thought before doing such things. 

" And what about Oscar? Why is he hurt too?" Sia asked.

" He didn't get hurt in the accident. He arrived at the scene when Victoria was being rescued. If he was the chairman of the Lazlo Corporation, the police would have probably put him in prison. They also warned me that if he drove like this again, he is sure to die in an accident. He looked like he lost his mind."

" Then how did he get hurt?" Caroline asked worriedly.

" I don't know how exactly but I checked his car to see if he also got into an accident. However, only the right-sided window of his car was broken. If I am not wrong, he broke it himself with his elbow... He injured himself."

Hearing that, everyone went silent. Victoria was still okay before hearing about him. But when she heard what happened with him, her pupils contracted as a pang of deep guilt rose in her heart. She looked away outside of the window. No one spoke anything after that. They knew Victoria must be feeling terrible and she wasn't a child that needed to be condemned for her wrong. She can know what she did wrong herself and she can also punish herself if needed.

But one thing left everyone in a daze. They were shocked about what happened with Oscar. He shook up their minds. Andrew and Caroline being his parents sat down in shock. 

What this incident proved to them was that if something were to actually happen to Victoria if she actually dies someday... Oscar won't be alive either. One way or another, he will end himself if she is gone. 

This sudden realisation of the extent of Oscar's love for her left everyone in an upheaval. Just imagining what would have happened if Victoria were to die left their hearts in terror. This realisation scared everyone to its core. 

But if others were this scared, then how would Victoria feel? Of course, she didn't feel happy at the realisation. It scared her. The fact that she affected him to this extent scared her. Her repulsive actions made her feel so pathetic that she wanted to kill herself. She wanted to kill herself for making things so hard for Oscar. 

For always unintentionally hurting him. For making things so difficult and scary to him. For making him go through his traumatic experience again. Just then, she felt some movement beside her and quickly looked back. Oscar was awake.

He sat up with difficulty and put his feet down. Victoria felt relieved seeing him awake and called out.

" Oscar, you are awake? How are you? Don't get up from the bed. You still have... " 

Without turning back or giving her a glance, Oscar got up from the bed. Victoria was still shocked but then she panicked when she saw his roughly taking out the syringe from his hand. It caused him to bleed a little and seeing that was making her worried.

" Oscar? What are you... " 

Oscar staggered a little while walking to the door. He didn't look back once. He didn't even glance at her since he woke up.

" Oscar!" Victoria called out to him worriedly. Oscar reached the door. He stopped when his hand was on the handle. After a few seconds, he looked back right into her eyes. Victoria was stunned. And before she could say anything, he was gone. Everyone sat silently in the ward without disturbing the couple. 

Victoria sat in a daze for a long time. Oscar was... Oscar was angry. He was very upset with her. He was so disappointed that he refused to talk to her. The look he gave her, he was blaming her. He was telling her that he hates her for her selfishness. For never caring about herself or at least for him. That if she truly loved him, she wouldn't have done this and that left Victoria in misery.

Her heart ached terribly. The fact that he is acting this way made her understand the level of effect this had on him. How hurt he must've been. How badly scared he must have been. If she was in his situation...

Victoria's thoughts halted and fear conquered her. She held her arms as she started shaking. Tears fell out of her red eyes. 

Finally, finally, she realised what she has been putting Oscar up to all along. She felt like dying just thinking about living in a world without him but he... He had to go through this again and again. What a hell has she been putting him into... 

Victoria cried badly and even though others tried to comfort her, she rejected them and told them to leave her alone. In the end, everyone left the ward. Though they felt bad seeing her like this, but if she realises her mistake, then they will bear with it.
