Chapter 84: Pre-Wedding 6.

" Hi." Oscar's barely audible voice sounded from the phone. He didn't have the energy to talk louder.

Hearing his voice, Victoria instantly felt energy rushing into hers.

" How are you?"

" I am fine. Don't worry about me." They talked in whispers as they were too tired to talk louder.

" How was it meeting Christopher? He is my best friend. The one I've been talking about."

" I don't know but he should probably be something great since he managed to be your best friend. We just exchanged greetings and he looked a pretty decent man to me."

" Haha. He doesn't open up to new people."

" Yeah. He has that foxy type of nature."

Victoria chuckled at that.

" When are you going to wake up tomorrow?" She asked him.

" Near 9 am. What about you?"

" Same. I'll call you first before going out."

" I'll be waiting then."

" Hmm. Let's sleep now so that we can wake up tomorrow."

" Yeah... " 

Victoria noticed that no one was hanging up. They both didn't want to. She smiled helplessly and said.

" How about we let the call go on?"

" Yes." Oscar instantly replied.

" But don't stay awake just because the call is going on. You have to take a good rest for me." Victoria smiled again.

" Yeah." 

" Okay. I will put the phone on charging as we sleep otherwise it will switch off when we wake up. You should also do that."

After a few minutes, Victoria's voice came again.

" Oscar, have a beautiful night. Sweet dreams. I love you."

Oscar was stunned. He was not expecting that. But warm feelings flowed endlessly in his heart. His eyes deepened as he said in an emotional voice.

" I love you more."

" I know."

They both didn't know who fell asleep first. The next morning, they were awoken by their family at 8:30. The noises of people and crowd had already arisen. Everything was fun. Of course, they didn't have enough rest but who does at weddings?

After washing up, the first thing Victoria did was call Oscar.

" Hello?"

" Oscar."

" Yeah. Why didn't you sleep more? Don't strain yourself."

" Don't worry about me. What are you doing?"

" I just took a bath and changed clothes. Today we are going to have a beach party."

" Really? Have fun then. And make sure to take a rest. There are servants and maids so don't do things yourself."

" Yeah. How are your plans for today?" 

" Well, we are going to tour around some famous places. I also want to make time and took others to the amusement park. We'll have to see if we got time."

" Okay. Be careful. Don't hurt yourself and please take good care of your health. I will text or call for lunch or dinner. Eat on time."

" Yeah, I know that. You do the same."

" Mom's calling me. I have to go."

" Okay Bye~ "

" Bye. I missed you!" 

Then he hung up. Victoria smiled happily while looking at her phone. She was also called out and had to go. They had a big day that night. Levi and Alice stayed with Victoria. Even though Levi was from the groom's side, he couldn't stay apart from Alice. So he just stayed here instead.

Christopher was always with Victoria. He also took care of her and helped a lot in everything. They toured some historical places. Then they had an amazing lunch. The elders were tired so they went back. 

Victoria took the youngsters and the willing parties to the amusement park. Everyone has to look after their families but Victoria and Mike still kept watch on everyone.

They first went to the roller coaster. Victoria sat with Alice. They didn't get a chance to talk much. It took time as people were sitting and adjusting. Meanwhile, Victoria and Alice finally had a chance to talk.

They both felt awkward at first as they didn't know how to start. Then Alice spoke.

" I-I... Wanted to thank you. Really! Thank you for saving me and many more. I will always remember what you did. If you ever need help and I can be helpful then please call me. I want to repay you.

" You don't need to."

" You sacrificed too much. And you didn't deserve it at all."

" No Alice. I know that you can understand me. All I wanted to do, all that I ever did was follow my heart. I was no good person. I was selfish and only cared about how I felt. Even now I only care about my feelings. 

So when the people call me great and all, I feel ashamed. Because I am more selfish than anyone. You may already know but I left my family because of stupid selfishness. I took a decision that would hurt them endlessly just for myself.

Yeah... I care about others but how does that justify me hurting my closest kin?! And you know what, I still don't think I would ever regret that decision or hesitate to make the same decision if the situation arises again. 

I want the best for others but hurting my family in the midst of this all still hurts me. Yet I still can't do anything about it. So the last thing I want to hear from everyone is that I am some saint, etc. If possible, I wish no one ever knew of my deeds. "

Alice didn't say anything for a long time. Finally, she commented.

" I somewhat understand what you mean, Victoria but you need to know that the deed you did deserves this. It really did. It's true that you hurt your family but didn't everything happen for the best in the end. And you know what, I realised one thing after coming here."

Victoria looked at Alice seriously. Waiting for her to continue her words.

" I realised that such a situation won't ever happen again. Because... Oscar would make sure to solve it so that you don't get involved or hurt."

Victoria was stunned. Even though she hadn't been with Oscar in the past few days, Alice was saying this so surely. She simply didn't expect that. However, she knew, and everyone around her knew that very well. That no matter what happens, Oscar would not let her get the slightest hurt again.
