Jotaro peered around the corner, "Looks like there aren't any cameras in this hall. If we turn this corner, the hallway's window will be right in front of us. Once we break it, we'll be 20 meters from the sea. Let's go." You followed him down the five or so steps.
Jolyne glanced behind her as Jotaro continued on ahead.
"Something wrong?" You wanted to make sure she was okay, having noticed the woman was clearly worried about something.
"It was just the fan. It sounded like the Stand I fought in my dream." She started to move with her head still turned, only to trip down the stairs. Jotaro actively moved out of the way, taking the amulet from her hand rather than catching her. So instead she toppled onto you. Wamuu quickly swooped in to make sure neither of you fell down.
"Are you both okay?" The Pillar Man helped you and Jolyne right yourselves.
She let out a light laugh, "Thanks, Wamuu... but yeah, I'm all right."
"You should be more careful, Jolyne." Advised Jotaro.
She rubbed the back of her neck, feeling a bit flustered, "Oh, you really don't need to worry about it. Just a little accident is all."
The Kujo stared at her blankly. "That's not what I meant." He held the pendent out to his daughter. "What if this got knocked away and you lost it?"
The air suddenly got very tense.
"Oh my God, Jotaro." You couldn't believe what you were hearing.
"What?" He clearly didn't understand why you were upset, "You know as well as I do how valuable this is. She needs to take better care of it."
"Sure, it's important. Whatever. But you're making it seem like this is more important than your own daughter." Why was this so hard for him to understand?
"Tch." Jolyne snatched the pendent from her dad. "Don't even bother with him, (Y/N). He won't change. He always does everything in a calm and logical manner. He doesn't care about me."
Jotaro looked between you and his daughter, still confused, "What are you talking about?"
"If it's so god damn important, then you take it!" She threw the pendent at her dad's chest. He fumbled around to make sure he didn't drop it.
"Jotaro..." Wamuu floated closer to the man, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I mean no offense by this, but perhaps you should take a page from Dio's book and try to get to know your child. Then you could better your relationship instead of making it seem like you hate her."
In a split second, Star Platinum grabbed Wamuu by the neck. The Kujo was furious, the flames of rage taking their hold on him, "How dare you tell me to be like that bastard!"
"J-Jotaro..." Your tried to pry off the invisible force that was practically crushing your windpipe.
The Kujo made Star Platinum immediately let go of Wamuu as soon as he realized what he had done. "...Sorry..." He was ashamed to have acted so rashly. Even more so that he had hurt you in the process.
"Wait a second." You put up a hand, ushering for them to be quiet. You could talk about his Dio troubles later. "Do you hear that?"
The Pillar Man nodded, his hearing much more attuned than any of yours. "We're being followed. We should hide for now."
So you and Jotaro moved around the corner as Jolyne crouched down at the bottom of the stairs, all of you doing your best to sneakily view what was going on.
"No one's down this hall. Maybe the two of them went the other way." It was a pair of guards. Then their running came to a halt, spotting one of the gates your little group had gone through. The metal was all bent around thanks to Star Platinum opening the way. "Hey! Did you even check this? The prisoners must have gotten this far already!"
