Final Countdown

"Well... that happened." You pointed up at the floating priest. Not that it made for the best explanation. "But why were you late? Jotaro said you got sidetracked with something."

He angled his head to follow your finger. "Oh... I see." Giorno then reached into his pocket and pulled out a Polaroid photo. "Well, Mista had asked me to take a photo of an alligator for him. Apparently they symbolize good fortune or something. I saw one on the way here. That's why I was late. But I didn't expect I'd miss out on... whatever this is." He squinted in the light. "Is that Dio up there, too? Is he the priest's Stand now?"

Bruno helped you climb out of the zipper hole. "Yes, that's him. The green thing is the actual Stand, though." He looked Giorno up and down, trying to gauge how his Don was taking the situation. "What do you plan to do?"

"Hmm... well..." Giorno's eyes narrowed at his father. "Whatever is necessary to stop their plan." He let out a bitter laugh, combing through his hair with one hand. "I can't believe I actually thought he changed... It was nice to actually have a father in my life, but now I guess that was all a lie. And (Y/N)..." He looked back at you, seeing you leaning comfortably against Bruno. "I'm guessing you got your memories back?" He sounded almost... disappointed. Perhaps a part of him had thought that you losing your memories of Bruno would give him another chance. Merely wishful thinking on his part.

"Hey, what the hell do you think you're doing, talking to (Y/N) like that?" Anasui stomped toward the blonde mafia member. "You think you can just waltz back into her life after you broke up with her?" The story Anasui had conjured up in his mind varied slightly from reality.

"Broke up with her? What are you even..." Giorno finally turned to see who was talking to him. He immediately pulled out his Stand. "...Diavolo! How did you escape the infinite death loop?! (Y/N), don't tell me you actually ended up accepting Doppio's offer!"

"Believe it or not, that's actually someone else." You looked up at the sky again, eyes widening once you realized just how far away the enemy had gotten. "Ah... maybe we should be dealing with that instead of chitchatting." Gravity began to shift again, causing everyone to fall parallel to the floor.

"Hermès. Look down and pick up the gun that he dropped." Looking down at his daughter, a proud smile formed on Jotaro's face. "And you've grown, Jolyne." He set her down. "Hold on to the railing for now."

"Wait a second." You were able to guess Jotaro's plan and you weren't so sure of its effectiveness. "You recall that both Pucci and Dio will still be able to move within stopped time, right? Plus, I don't mean to be rude or anything, but you haven't really been training your ability and you've been in a coma for a few months. He'll be able to freeze time for far longer than you can."

"But can't Giorno just revert Dio's time stop to zero or something?" Jotaro hoped that would at least create an opportunity.

Giorno cleared his throat while raising his hand. "Actually... I don't really have control over the whole 'nullification' ability. GER activates it on its own when I'm in danger or about to be in danger. At least, that's what it told me. Becoming Requiem seems to have granted Golden Experience a consciousness of its own. But I could probably convince it to throw things, if you want. Frogs, scorpions, you name it."

But Bruno still pondered the nullification idea. "But if you did manage to do it, would Dio be put into an infinite death loop?"

You were horrified of the thought, "And if he's really dying an infinite number of times, would that create an infinite number of Dios in the void room?" Because that sounded like an actual nightmare, especially for the rest of your Standmates.

"Okay, fine." Jotaro decided to alter his plan a bit. "Then I guess the only thing we can do is chuck and shoot enough stuff at him that he can't block it all."
