Johnny plopped back down into his wheelchair. He was stunned, confused, but mostly amazed. He wanted more. He needed to stand again.

"Just leave him." Advised Gyro as he walked off to go get on his horse. Apparently he didn't care much about the paraplegic dude suddenly standing.

You weren't sure if Gyro was inviting you to follow along with him, but you stayed put nonetheless. You were currently more intrigued by the man who was still stunned in place next to you. You recognized him from the other you's newspaper clippings.

You waved a hand in front of his face, hoping to snap him out of it, "Hey, you're Johnny, right?"

He grabbed onto your wrist, "Did you know that guy? What did he just do with that ball?!"

You pulled your arm out of his rather strong grip. "His name is Gyro. I'm not entirely sure what he did, but he called it Spin."

Johnny was deceptively fast. Bulldozing through the crowd in order to swerve in front of Gyro and his horse. "Wait! I need to know! Tell me! I need to know what just happened to me!"

"Oh my God! What are you doing?!" Did he have a death wish or something? You chased after him, ready to prevent him from being trampled by a horse.

The sun shown down on Gyro, casting a shadow across his face. "Do you know the leading cause of death? The first is a sickness carried by mosquitoes. The second is getting kicked by a horse and dying. Do you plan on changing the ranking?" He gave his horse a pat on the bum. "Don't get any foolish expectations. I don't know your situation... but you standing up from that wheelchair was coincidence. It was just a bodily reflex and nothing more."

Johnny was furious. "Reflex my ass!" It was becoming very apparent to you that this man wouldn't be anything like the Jonathan you had known. "That ball was the cause after all! That steel ball was spinning! Do you think I could do that again?!" He reached out his hand, "Just one more time! I'll pay you! Just show me one more time!"

Gyro got his horse to trot away, "I'm done talking to you."

"Then I'll touch it again myself!" Johnny knocked a guy over and used his body as a makeshift ramp to launch himself in the Italian's direction.

All Gyro had to do was touch the Joestar's hand, causing the flesh to twist as he guided it over to the nearby building's rafter. Johnny was forced to hang there by one hand as the Zeppeli spoke. "Before I knock you down and make you feel bad, I'll compliment you. You do have very strong muscles... at least your upper body does. And I'll make this very clear that the 'spinning steel' is definitely my weapon. But it won't make people like you walk again."

"How can I believe that after all that happened?! I'll figure it out! I'll figure out the truth of that Spin!" Johnny was determined to walk again, no matter what he needed to do.

Gyro laughed, "You can't even get on a horse. The Steel Ball Run is about to begin. I won't stay on this beach because I'll be crossing the continent. And (Y/N)," He tipped his hat to you in an almost condescending manner. "I'll see you at the starting line." Without another word, he went on his way, looking for a tent to spend the next two days.

With Johnny still hanging there, you picked up the wheelchair off of its side and set it upright again. "Are you going to join the race?" You stood closer to the former jockey, catching him once his grip on the rafter gave out.

"Put me down!" Johnny did not appreciate you carrying him. You half considered the idea of just dropping him then and there, but you settled on putting him back in his wheelchair. "Damn it..." He stared down at his formerly twisted hand, "I'll get on a horse again and I will race."
