To Take for Granted

"I've got him! Take this Father Pucci!" Announced Jotaro in his frozen time. Star Platinum gripped tightly onto the arm that had just pierced through Bruno. "What...?!" Jotaro took a second to process the scene before him. "He used (Y/N)'s hand to...!" Star Platinum let go of your arm. Jotaro grit his teeth in anger.

"Pucci..." Dio stared at you in frozen time, already anticipating what your reaction would be to the current situation. "Don't you think that was... a bit much?" Killing Bruno was one thing, but forcing you to kill him was definitely worse.

"The distraction it caused was the most important part." Plus, Pucci wasn't concerned about any of the trauma his actions could cause you. None of it would matter once you were able to experience the true happiness he had sought after all this time.

"Oh..." Kiaria glanced over at Anasui. "I don't think you'll need to be worrying about that anyhow, Dio." The spider resting on the priest's shoulder giggled quietly, similarly unaffected by the time stop thanks to her own Stand. She had been picked up by the priest a few seconds ago and was eager to watch the events unfold. Being constantly privy to the future was awfully boring to Kiaria. She didn't care about good or bad, she just hoped that enough things had been changed to alter the future she had witnessed through her strings.

"By the way, thank you for the assistance, Kiaria." After all, it was through her aid that Pucci was able to meet up with Dio much quicker.

The spider clapped her front limbs together as she tilted her head to the side. "Hmm... I don't know if you should be thanking me just yet, but I appreciate the thought..."

The priest shrugged and turned to the Kujo, "And you have what? Two seconds left?" He pulled a few knives out of his robes.

Dio's mouth fell slightly agape, "You had some this whole time?" He would've liked to have had them during the fight with Weather, not that it really mattered now.

"Yes, well, I thought they could come in handy. I had theorized of a situation like this." Pucci tossed them toward Jolyne. Jotaro could only stare, stuck in frozen time now that his own had ran out. But he knew what he had to do the second he could move again.

Was this really the right thing to do? Dio had been pondering that a lot lately. And now here he was, allowing someone else's child to die before their father's eyes. "Time resumes..."

A screamed escaped past your lips the second your mind processed that your arm was lodged through the torso of your partner. "B-Bruno!"

Anasui scoffed, "What? Did you not believe what I said earlier? My Diver Down took the blow of Pucci's attack." Once you pulled your hand out, Anasui's Stand moved out of Bruno, a new hole having been made in it, the same wound displayed on its user. Anasui had his Stand rearrange himself a bit in order to stop his own bleeding. Bruno remained unharmed.

It wasn't like Anasui had had a sudden change of heart. He just needed to regain a little of your trust. Faking Bruno's death the other time had given him a good idea of how angry you'd be at him if Bruno had died right then. So he hoped that saving Bruno now would make things easier down the line. He would just deal with the whole Bruno problem later. At a time where it would be less obvious that he was to blame.

You were genuinely surprised that Anasui had actually gotten hurt for Bucciarati, "Anasui... you...?" But that train of thought was completely derailed as you saw what was happening behind him, "Jotaro!" He had waded through the water and punched aside the knives headed for Jolyne.

However, even Star Platinum was not fast enough to keep up with Pucci's speed. The priest practically teleported behind him, confident enough to boast. "You were late by two steps, Jotaro. The Joestar bloodline draws strength from their pride and courage to conquer their fate, but weakness is also in their blood. Jotaro Kujo... your daughter is your weakness."
