The Ludicrous Escapade Pt.3

Upgrade

Due to the strange situation surrounding the so called attempted escape from the prison, neither you nor Jolyne were punished in any way. The guards and the higher ups had bigger issues, such as figuring out how to safely move tons of poisonous frogs from the courtyard.

Some time passed, and a new day arrived.

When you woke up and climbed out of the bottom bunk, you soon realized that Hermès was no longer in your cell. There was, however, a quickly written note laying on the desk. "Ah... She went back to the chapel again. That's really all she's been doing since I said I saw Maxx there. I wonder if she'll really kill him this time?"

"Are you going to help her?" Asked Wamuu, looking over your shoulder.

"I think she wants to kill him herself. But I guess I could check in on her later. I want to get some breakfast first. Jolyne should've been released from the medical ward this morning."

"(Y/N)... are you not going to...?" The Pillar Man glanced at the neatly folded tie that was still resting on the desk like it had been for the past couple of days. You had yet to go through with using it.

You let out a sigh, but picked it up. "I suppose it really is about time, isn't it?" You knew Kira had been doing his best to prove himself over the past few years. And, well, it wasn't like he could be worse than Dio was when he became your Stand for the first time.

"Narancia and I will help him settle down in the void room, so don't worry about that." Then Wamuu unzipped his torso and removed his ring, placing it in the palm of your hand.

The appearance of your Stand immediately shifted to the metallic blue of its base form. It outstretched its hand, waiting for you to give it something, staring at you with emotionless eyes.

Hesitantly, you gave it Yoshikage's tie. It placed the tie within the diamond shape hole in its torso. In but a moment, Yoshikage Kira was there in your Stand's place.

Gone was his ghostly attire. His outfit had returned to his lavender suit and button up. He adjusted the cuffs of his sleeves, momentarily amazed, staring at himself in your cell's small mirror. "So it really worked?" He dragged a finger along the nearby desk, actually able to feel it under his touch. "It really does almost feel like I'm alive again." It was already better than he could've hoped.

"Um... hey, Yoshikage." You voice broke him out of his little trance. You reached a hand toward him.

"(Y/N)..." He turned to you, a smile on his face. But then his eyes landed on your hand, and his smile faltered. He quickly turned away from you, covering his mouth with one hand, his cheeks having gone slightly flushed, "Er... I didn't expect..." He loosened his tie, clearing his throat. As a ghost, he had lost his urge for hands. However, having become your Stand, the desire seemed to have returned along with his capability to actually feel things.

"Ah..." You took a step back from him, looking down at your hand. Your finger nails growing a smidge longer as you spoke. "I see..." But at least he wouldn't be killing other girls for their hands anymore.

His eyes darted to your hands again. Unsure of himself, he held his hand toward you, "Um... may I?"

"Just..." You rubbed the bridge of your nose. "...don't put my fingers in your mouth again." You let him hold your hand, watching him warily.

"Wow... your hands really do feel the exact same as I remember them." He intertwined his fingers with yours before bringing your hand up to the side of his face while gazing into your eyes. He seemed serene in that moment. Content with his existence.

Then he let go of your hand, taking a step forward to embrace you instead. After all, it wasn't like the only thing he loved about you was your hands. Or, at least, not anymore. It was something he had especially learned during the brief period of time where he thought he had killed you. He never wanted to experience that again. "Thank you, (Y/N), for letting me have this second chance."
