You opened your eyes and immediately closed them again, nearly blinded by the morning sun.

"Did you sleep good, (Y/N)?" Johnny tossed another log into the fire. He had already been up for around an hour. Happier than usual, perhaps, since he was still thinking about the night before.

You sat up, causing some of the snow that settled on you over the night to fall away. "Yeah. I think so. I had a dream about something, but I can't remember what." Realizing you had the blanket to yourself again, you put it around your shoulders and moved closer to the fire. "What's for breakfast?"

"Spaghetti." Johnny stirred it around in the pot set up over the fire. "It's actually kind of worrying just how much pasta Gyro decided to pack."

You turned your head around, wondering where the Italian man even was. You spotted the edge of his hat sticking out of the snow. "I guess he got buried overnight."

"Yeah..."Johnny picked up the kettle and started filling up a cup. "I made some tea. Would you like some?"

"Sure." You accepted the drink, taking sips now and then to help warm yourself up.

"(Y/N)," Johnny paused before deciding to go through with his question. "You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, but are you feeling okay? Lately you seem a little more down that usual."

"I dunno. I guess I've just been thinking about a lot of things lately." You pulled your knees closer to your chest as you set your cup to the side. You gave him another sad smile. "And, well, I've started realizing that there are lot of things I like about this place."

"But... do you really have to go back home?" Asked Johnny, honestly hoping you would stay.

"Maybe not. But I'd feel pretty shitty if I didn't at least try and go back. And... there are a lot of people over there that I want to see again. I can't just... leave them all. There are so many I never even got to say goodbye to..." You wiped at your eyes, realizing they had become more damp than you'd prefer. "Sorry. Maybe I'll be able to visit you sometime."

"No, (Y/N). Don't apologize." Johnny embraced you. "You don't have to keep your emotions all bottled up. I'm here for you, okay? I won't judge you. I cry all the time."

"Thanks, Johnny." You returned the hug. "But I'm fine, okay? Don't worry about me."

Johnny hesitantly pulled back. "I don't know if I can really do that, but okay." Out of the corner of his eye he saw something hop by. "A rabbit?" He raised his hand. "I'll get it now. We can eat it later." He shot it with one of his nails.

"Brr..." Gyro slowly made his way over to the fire, rubbing his hands together to try and warm himself up. "Thought it was cold... Guess it snowed while I was sleeping, huh?" He had just woken up from a dream of his own. It was about the time he almost got caught having sex with a married woman who was also his father's patient. Simpler times.

"There are more blankets if you want one." You pointed to the pile of bags.

"Or..." Gyro scooched closer to you. "You could always warm me up yourself, (Y/N)."

"Ha ha. Very funny, Gyro." Your tone remained monotonous.

"I mean..." Gyro moved so you were sitting in front of him with his legs on either side of you. "It doesn't have to be a joke."

"I made some pasta, Gyro, if you want some." Called out Johnny as he picked up the dead rabbit by its ears. "Also, I've found out that chamomile is most effective in speeding up my nail growth." He showed off the nail on his thumb. "See? It only takes a minute or so."
