"What the hell?! Who is that guy?! What's he's doing in that house?!" Johnny had a lot of questions. "A racer was murdered! What's going on?!"

"Murder? None of that was against the law..." Hot Pants was not nearly as shocked as the other two.

"Yeah, I guess duels are still legal in this state." You doubted anyone would even end up finding the body in the first place, though.

"You know, I really don't give a shit." Gyro turned to speak to Hot Pants. "If you want to get involved, go right ahead. He's probably the one who killed your cow." He got Valkyrie moving down the path. "Johnny. (Y/N). We can't stay here forever. Let's get out of here!"

"I'm staying here. Have fun running around in circles." You waved at Gyro as you unmounted Moxy. You were letting her have a little break.

"Fine. Whatever." Gyro grumbled under his breath the whole time he left. Johnny was following behind him, but he seemed conflicted, still glancing back at you every now and then.

"I think I'll stay with you then, (Y/N)." Decided Hot Pants. "Do you have a plan to get out of here?"

You pointed toward the house. "Killing the guy who lives here seems like the surest bet. I do want to try something else first, though." You brought out your Stand, who was currently Narancia. "Hey, do you think you could fly up and get a bird's eye view of the area? Tell me if you see anything weird going on with Johnny and Gyro."

"Sure, (Y/N)! I can do that!" Narancia whistled to himself as he flew upward. While you waited for him to say anything of note, you figured you might as well get started eating the food Hot Pants had given you.

She took a seat next you, joining in on the lunch break. "It seems like Gyro irritates you a lot. Why do you travel with him?"

"Well, I'd like to say he doesn't normally act like this much of an asshole, but that'd probably be a lie. I think he's also still mad that you nearly won when you attacked him earlier." You shrugged. "And I guess I'm learning Spin from him, so there's that. We're all just helping each other reach our goals."

"I see..." She took a bite out of her sandwich. "You know, when I saw you in the first stage, I was honestly surprised. There aren't really a lot of female jockeys. At this point in the race, we're probably the only ones."

"Yeah..." Despite Johnny and Gyro's insistence in referring to Hot Pants as a man, you had decided to remain neutral. But now you supposed you knew for sure what she actually went by. Not that Hot Pants really seemed to care either way. "There were a few in the first stage, though I don't think any of them continued past that." You opened your canteen, taking a swig of water. "Nearly half of all participants have also either dropped out or died by now, though."

Narancia's voice entered your mind. "Hey, this is a little strange. Like, I think Johnny and Gyro are getting teleported back a few meters, which leads them to make a wrong turn."

"Oh? Is that so?" You took a second to tell Hot Pants what your Stand had discovered.

"Would your Stand be able to direct us from up there to make sure we go the right way?" Hot Pants wondered if it was possible to get out of here without killing Ringo after all.

"Maybe." The idea had potential. "It kind of depends on how exactly the ability works. I feel like it might be faster to kill the user."

The two of you continued eating in comfortable silence for the next few minutes.

"Oh, (Y/N)!" Narancia stared at the rest of your crew. "Johnny and Gyro are headed over here now!"

You stood back up once they arrived, "Did you have fun, guys?"
