"What is this, Gyro?!" Since the Zeppeli clearly recognized Wekapipo, Johnny assumed he would know why his left side had seemingly vanished. "Half of our bodies...!"
"Don't panic. Just calm down!" Reminded Gyro as he began to explain who the enemy was. "His name... He used to be an imperial guard in my country... Wekapipo! This, that we're experiencing right now, is left-half ataxia! If his steel ball had actually hit us straight on, it would've killed us. But the shockwave from the throw affects us, too! His technique is different from the Zeppelis! It's an ability that was created for the specific purpose of guarding the Imperial family! It's called Wrecking Ball!"
"Left half? What?" Johnny hadn't quite caught the last word. "What did you say about my left side?"
"He called it left-half ataxia." You tried to clarify what you assumed the ability was. "It just makes it so you can't see the left side of things, I guess."
Gyro nodded in confirmation. "Yes, but everything is still there. Your brain just doesn't register it, even when looking directly at it."
"That's impossible!" Johnny felt along his left side with his right hand. "Look, I can't even touch it! Even if I'm looking for it with my right, I can't find it!"
"That's just what he's making you think!" Gyro was trying his darnedest to make sure the rest of you understood. "Just stay calm! The effects of the shockwave only last a few seconds! Everything will be back to normal, soon! The bigger problem is the other guy who was on the sled! He moved over to the left so we can't see him! He must be close by! This is the offensive strategy of my country's Imperial guards!"
"Wow! Even the mountains are cut in half!" Pointed out Narancia, perhaps a little too cheery given the situation. "But what's the plan for an invisible enemy?" He started punching a fist through the air. "Should we just throw everything at him and hope something hits?"
"I mean, our right side still works perfectly fine. So as long as we keep looking with our right side, we should eventually find the other guy." You started turning around in a circle until you could see the curly haired man from before. "There! He has a shotgun!"
Johnny had turned as well, taking the chance to fire a few nails at the enemy as he shot his gun. But the guy soon dropped his shotgun and sat on the ground. His Stand seemed to envelope him, making the nails just bounce off and spin into the ground instead.
Wekapipo was momentarily taken aback. Not by the way the fight was going, though. It was just that he President had informed him of Johnny and Gyro, but he hadn't bothered to mention much about you. Now, looking at you, he couldn't help but think you seemed around the same age his sister would have been, were she still alive.
He shook his head. Now was not the time for such things. He had a job to do. "The son of the Zeppeli family... so you did know, Gyro, about my identity and about my ability, Wrecking Ball."
"Gyro!" The left-side ataxia wore off, now allowing you to see that Gyro's left arm had been shot by the bullets.
"Ora!" His steel ball hit the guy in the face, but just rolled off, leaving the enemy unharmed.
"Did you do it, Gyro? That guy on the left... did you kill him?" Johnny really hoped so. "He's not moving! But it seems like the impact of the hit is moving away from him, and traveling across the ice! It can't be... Did he guard against it? It doesn't look like we've done any damage!"
Narancia held up his revolvers. "Can I test it out?" You gave him a nod of approval. "All right!" He shot once and the bullet just ricocheted off into the snow. "Yeah... it ain't working."
"Must be his Stand ability." You figured it was the only real logical explanation. "It must grant him some level of invincibility as long as he doesn't move, or something along those lines."
