Moxy leaped over the railing and onto shore. She paced around impatiently for the next few seconds, anxious to get running again while you waited for Johnny to unboard his own boat.

"Who was that guy on the boat with you? I thought he was just a volunteer for the race, but he was talking an awful lot with you." Johnny pointed behind himself. "The person on my boat got pretty upset anytime I said anything."

"The Diego from this universe. He knocked out the actual SBR worker and lended me something we might be able to use in the upcoming fight." You reached for one of your bags and opened it enough so that he could see a glimpse of the hat and shirt.

"No way, he's actually helping us?" Johnny almost didn't believe it.

"There's more." Kars was sitting behind you again and he pointed upward. "Those aren't birds flying above us, well, save for the one I sent up there. They're microraptors, one of the various types of winged dinosaurs."

Now Johnny was really surprised. "Wow. He must be really thankful you saved his life."

"Maybe." You didn't think it was something the Brando would do just out of the kindness of his heart. He always wanted to make some kind of profit. And for this situation, he could have the rest of you take care of the duplicate while he didn't have to dirty his hands too much.

"Well, compared to the other stages, this one is pretty short. Only thirteen kilometers." Johnny got slow dancer moving again and Moxy happily ran alongside them.

You noticed a white mouse scurry out from beneath the crowd's feet. It followed along the edge of the dirt road, going in the opposite direction of you and Johnny.

"Look, it's the mouse again. Do you think it's the same one we saw when Valentine tried to kill you?" You knew it was highly improbable, but weirder things had happened around you in the past.

"Maybe? Part of me wants to think it's Danny, but..." Johnny was aware mice didn't exactly have the longest of lifespans. Then his eyes followed along the direction the rodent had come from, his gaze eventually landing on a familiar face. "Dad...?"

George Joestar had tears welling up in his eyes as he lifted up a pair of boots and nodded.

"My... brother's boots." Had his father actually showed up to cheer him on? He wiped away at his own eyes. "Come on, (Y/N), let's go."

"All right. Diego just ran down another alleyway. We should be careful. He's definitely the type to set traps."

Johnny raised his right hand, one finger pointed toward the Brando. "Getting close to him is dangerous, but I need to get him inside my firing range. So I guess we should get barely close enough for me to kill him?"

Kars suddenly swiped his arm blade upward. The dozens of wires that had been tightly strung up in the alleyway now hung loosely from the pipes they were wrapped around. "We need to be even more careful as we pursue him from behind. He can do nearly anything within stopped time."

"Right. Thanks, Kars." You were glad at least one of you was paying close enough attention to the changes in your surroundings.

You saw a a small, winged dinosaur knocked out on the side of the alleyway. Diego must've noticed its attempt to attack him while he froze time. So much for the element of surprise.

As Diego rounded the corner, Johnny tried to get another shot in. The hole followed along the side of the wall, but then it's position seemed to suddenly change. Tusk was now reaching out of the hole.

"That... did it...?" You looked at Johnny. "Can your Stand move in frozen time?"

"Can it?" The Joestar had his Stand move back to his side, examining carefully. "I'm not sure. It's not like I was able to see what was going on in frozen time. Did it just move on its own?"
