Jolyne bent down, picking up a few rocks of her own to toss at Rikiel.
"Ah!" He managed to dodge the pebbles. His eyes darted to Hermès on his right and then Jolyne on his left. And then there was you in the middle. Who should he attack first? Should he be focusing more on just taking you? Which of you would be attacking him next?
Rikiel clutched at his throat in panic, "I... I can't breathe! Ugh! My eyelids are fluttering again!"
You hummed your yourself in thought. From what you could tell, this had to have been a regular occurrence prior to meeting Pucci and Dio. The sense of purpose they provided him with must've lessened his risk for panic attacks. No wonder he had such a skewed opinion of them.
You wondered if there was a way to resolve this without killing Rikiel or permanently maiming him. Not because you cared about him. You hardly knew the guy: But if you could convince him to join your side, you simply thought it would be amusing to pit Dio against his own sons. He'd probably also have some useful information.
"No way... I can see them!" Jolyne watched the sky in wonder. These organisms that had never been properly seen by human eyes now floated in the air around her. "They've stopped moving!"
Hermès cackled, "This dumbass is panicking and can't even control his powers! Good job coming out here to get your ass kicked, you bastard!"
"Oh! I found it! I'd left the key in my bike!" And with that Rikiel was able to regain his composure and steady his breathing. Hermès' remarks came to a stop when the fingers on her right hand snapped backward. "One finger." The pointer finger of the Costello's right hand opened up from a fist. "Uh... zero fingers." Her hand closed again. "And... all fingers." Her hand opened and the rock in it fell to the ground.
Hermès stared at both her hands in fright. "What the hell is this?! I knew this was no virus! A virus can't do shit like this!"
"And if it were just some disease..." Your leg jutted forward unnaturally, forcing you to take a step not of your own free will. "...I wouldn't be affected like this."
"Yo, (Y/N), I thought you were saying we should keep our distance from him?" Asked the Ghirga, a bit oblivious to what was going on. "Oh, and hi, Rikiel! My name's Narancia, and I'm one of your brother Giorno's friends!" He figured he should at least introduce himself.
"Uh... hi?" Rikiel thought your Stand was strange, to say the least. So he decided to go on a spiel about space travel. "July 1969, Armstrong from Apollo 11 became the first man to stand on the surface of the moon. Until now, I didn't know what was so special about that. Because in reality, the rockets are flown by scientists and engineers. Any monkey could go to the moon." He gripped the handlebars of his bike. "But when I first saw those rods, I finally understood why it was so important. What truly stood on the moon that day was the human spirit! That day we humans conquered the moon and our spirit evolved!"
Emporio stepped closer to Jolyne with shaky legs, "We can see the rods. They aren't touching us, either. How is he doing this?!"
"Stay away from me, Emporio!" Ordered Jolyne. She didn't want him getting caught up in the fight. Even if it was a little late for that.
"No... we have to figure this out quickly! What the rods just did to me... Oh God... help me..." He fell to his knees, hands covering his privates in pain. "M-My urine... it's bloody! My urine is bloody!!"
"What the fuck?!" One of Hermès fingers just fell off at the joint. "They're rotting!"
"And somehow he can control our movements, too..." You mumbled to yourself, having been forcibly moved within an arms reach of Rikiel. "But, if you are truly interested in the evolution of the human spirit, I'm sure there are better things than whatever Pucci and Dio have planned. Your father isn't even human, anyway."
