The Ludicrous Escapade Pt.3

A Mesozoic Mess

"Wh-What is this?! H-He transformed!" Johnny still couldn't believe his eyes. "Dio! He was a Stand user! I knew it!"

Gyro went to take a step closer to you only to be whacked by Diego's dino tail. He was flung out the still open door and into a dead tree several meters away.

"Gyrooo!" But Johnny couldn't waste time calling out his friend's name. So he steadied his hand and shot some spinning nails at Diego who was still pinning you to the floor, his claws digging into your shoulder.

The dinosaur screeched in pain, but ended up redirecting its attention to the Joestar. Diego leaped across the room, landing on the counter right as Johnny rolled off.

"Dio must've been one of the terrorists!" Johnny fired a few more nails, but Diego moved his head around, dodging them with ease. "Seriously?! At this distance?!"

"The image I was shown earlier seemed to be the remains of a utahraptor." Now that a fight was beginning, Kars had chosen to appear. He gave Diego's transformed state a once over while helping you up to your feet. "I suppose that's what he is supposed to be, as well. I feel like he should have more feathers, though..."

"Perhaps. Diego's Stand apparently makes him some kind of weredino. I'm not sure if he transformed on purpose or if it was a spur of the moment type of thing." You inched back toward him. "Do you think he can understand us? Or has his whole brain gone dino?"

Kars watched the dinosaur carefully, studying its movements. "I'd be more inclined to say the latter. Or maybe someone else is influencing him."

Diego dodged a steel ball that had been thrown his direction, the weapon instead finding itself lodged in the wall.

"Woah..." Gyro trudged back into the house. He was out of breath and blood dripped down his face. He had done his best to return to the battle scene in a timely manner. "Check out his dynamic vision. He easily dodged the steel ball even from so close." The ball spun back to return to its owner's hand with Diego once again avoiding being hit. "What?!"

"Gyro! Above you!"

But Johnny's warning didn't come fast enough as Gyro was slammed into the kitchen counter. "So, is your goal to find the corpse part? Or are you just going to kill us and take it? It seems you are pretty damn sensitive to sudden movements. But if something was moving slowly, you wouldn't take it as a threat and wouldn't dodge it, eh?" The can next to Gyro rolled around a bit before a steel ball burst out and hit Diego in the throat. "I put the steel ball in the can. How I got it there is a secret."

Gyro grabbed your arm with one hand and waved Johnny along with other. "It didn't do much damage! Let's hurry and get outside!"

All three of you leaned against the shut door with all your weight. It shook each time Diego tried to slam his body against it.

"It's a shame we have to fight a dinosaur like this..." Kars was standing a little off to the side, watching the rest of you struggle. "I would much prefer to research his behavior and habits. Perhaps we could then compare the info to what we know of actual dinosaurs. I just think it would be an interesting experiment."

"I suppose that's true. If he really is stuck as a dinosaur, we could potentially learn new things about the species. Especially if we could extract some of his DNA and get it under a microscope..." Not that you really had the proper tech on hand for something like that.

"On another note, this man might be better than the Dio we usually have to deal with." While you hadn't seen him in a while, Kars still had to share the void room with Dio everyday. He supposed he could at least be glad that the vampire wasn't talking as much as of late. Kars assumed the man was still distraught from the possibility that he might never see his sons again.
