"Well, I'm definitely not dropping out now." You weren't going to quit after the first stage.

"Of course." Johnny, who had been sitting on his horse the whole time, gripped the cork in his hand tightly. "I'll show you what I can do!"

"That's fine, I guess." Gyro was satisfied with the response. "Lesson 2 is to work those muscles. For example," He wrapped a hand around his own wrist. "If I grabbed you like this, the muscle automatically knows to bend. The flesh instinctively protects the body by wounding the muscle. And that's nature for you." He placed a spinning steel ball on his arm. "The steel ball won't let you do that. Control the skin! If the skin is under an unusual situation, the muscle won't act upon it. Do you guys want to try? If you're not scared, that is..."

When you nodded, Gyro tossed something to you. "There. Now you both have revolving corks."

Johnny stared down at the one in his hand. It twirled around in his palm for a second until he brought it to his horse's side. The horse's flesh twisted around the cork. This caused Johnny to fall off, spin in mid air, and then land on all fours.

"That's how you get off a horse." Explained the Italian. "The horse's muscle isn't acting upon it. It won't let you do that. Even if you didn't have a weapon, the spinning strength is the weapon."

"I see..." You took your own revolving cork and placed it on your arm, trying to mimic what Gyro had done earlier with his steel ball. Your skin seemed to ripple beneath the cork and your muscle remained unaffected, creating a rather strange sensation.

"Johnny Joestar and (Y/N) (L/N)," Gyro spoke to his new team of sorts. "the second stage of the race is a desert crossing with a distance of 1,200 km. It looks tough. Let's wrap this up. It'll be a 1-2-3 finish... I'll be first, though."

"Should we find some rooms or something, then?" As participants in the race, things like lodging or food were supposed to be provided for you. Though you doubted they'd have gotten enough space for thousands of people.

"Not so fast there, (Y/N)." Gyro blocked your path. "I told you more about Spin, so now you have to tell me about whatever thing you were doing in the forest." He wasn't about to just let the whole thing go.

Johnny was intrigued now. "(Y/N), do you have a technique or something, too?"

"Okay... I'll tell you. Just not here." If you were going to be traveling with them, you figured they should at least have an idea of what a Stand was. It would probably be safer for them that way. "I'd prefer not to have other people listening in."

So the three of you made your way to a secluded area on the nearby hillside. After sitting down on the grass, you spoke up again. "Okay, I'll start with a question. Have any of you ever heard of a Stand?"

Johnny nodded, "Yes, that's what I want to do. I want to be able to stand."

You shook your head. "That's... not what I meant. Okay, um, a Stand is usually referred to as the physical manifestation of one's fighting spirit. Usually only Stand users can see other Stands, but like with pretty much every rule there are always a few exceptions. But typically you could probably compare them to a ghost."

Gyro raised an eyebrow, trying to understand what you were saying. "So you have this ghost and it... does things for you?"

"Yeah. Well, most people can control their Stand, but mine has a will of its own." You brought out the Ultimate Being. "Kars, how about we-"
