(Somewhere Between Time)

"Turn around...I'll wash your hair..." That was an odd request, I made up my mind that I wasn't going to be scared of him, I did as I was told.

"He gently opened the shampoo bottled and started working it into my hair, then taking the detachable showerhead off he rinsed.

When he was done he did the same thing with the conditioner.

"It killed me to you know."  I gently muted.

"Humm? What was that?"

"Leaving you, it killed me inside to, I suffered for what I did...I...wanted to stay with you, I had made up my mind to stay with you."

He turned me in his arms and I looked up at him, he pushed me forward and my back hit the wall, I looked back up at him, he narrowed his eyes at me.

"Don't lie...don't say something like that if you don't mean it."

"I mean it...James, I mean it."

"Then why did you leave?" He pressed me harder against the wall as he asked this, I whimpered, not because of the pain but I realized that he was a force of nature – and I was helpless here in the shower with him.

"Loki convinced me that it was for the best, that it was selfish for me to stay – I thought you wouldn't have to suffer, that he would reset the timeline and you wouldn't remember me."

I looked up as I watched as he eyes scanned my face, as if he was searching and looking for the lie. 

He pulled me into his arms, hugging me as the water washed down our bodies, naturally and with ease our lips met, and he kissed me.

The kiss was softer and loving, like he had been back in 1942. Memories of how he was, before Hydra came back, I pulled away and felt the tears come, wrapping my arms around his neck I hugged him.

He hugged back, his bionic arm hugging me a bit harder than his flesh and blood one. 

"I missed you."

"I missed you to doll...fuck come here..."

I wrapped my legs around him and he held me up with his bionic arm,  we stepped out of the shower, and he set me on the bathroom counter, grabbing a towel he started drying me off.

"I want to make love to you..." You asked, he looked up and smiled at you, helping you get off the counter.

"I'm a bit tired, let's go for a walk..."

I pouted, but knew that I wanted to get a closer look at my surroundings. Slowly I went over to the dresser and curiously I opened it when he motioned to it wordlessly...there were clothes, all my size in it.

"You have been planning on this for a long time?"

"You know I have doll..."

I got dressed in jeans, a shirt and simple boots, I jumped when James came up behind me and wrapped his hands around my waist, I leaned into the touch. His head leaned down and he whispered into my ear.

"Once I'm sure that I am the one you choose, we can go back to your timeline, and start our family...come on, let me show you around this place – there is something you might like to see."

As I took his hand and let him lead me out of the house, I was suddenly confused about my feelings for him... it scared me. 

--- Bucky's Point of View ---

(Modern Time)

"I'm asking that Steve stay with you why I go try and find them." Loki explained.

I narrowed my eyes at him.

"You can't ask me to stand aside and just let this be."

Steve put his hand on my shoulder, pulling me back a little, keeping me still, I didn't fight him.

"He can work better and quickly alone..."

I knew they were right, I said nothing just look down defeated. Loki opened a door with a TemPad

"Keep an eye on him Steve, no matter what happens keep with him."

I watched helpless as he left, Stave walked forward and wrapped and arm around me, pulling my back to his chest.

I let him hold me there, letting my emotions work themselves out.
