Chapter 15

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

Monday February 7, 1983

It's been two weeks since I vanquished Sara at the ravine. I couldn't stand back and let her hurt Dakota. Kelly might not have liked it, but she helped me, Jane, and Jason when Darrell and Melissa appeared. Kelly even saved Dakota from falling to her possible death. I honestly didn't expect to hear that. Apparently, Dakota can't teleport, so she could have died from that fall if it wasn't for Kelly. Speak of the devil, literally, it's her sixteenth birthday today. I'm waiting for her to come pick me up for school, but she is running a little late. I walk into the foyer and make sure the door is locked. I walk into the living room and pet Zeke as he lies on the couch. I pick up my keys off the side table and my backpack off the couch. I start teleporting out there and find them changing the tires on Kelly's 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. I'm standing in the yard right in front of the steps of the front porch. I look to the left, against the porch, and there are four slashed tires in the grass. Kelly said, " Babe?" I look over and she's walking up to me in a black tank top, dark high-waisted blue jeans, and her Adidas top tens. Her hair is tied back in a ponytail; the end of it is curly. Her bangs are down on the right, with some curls at the ends. She is wiping grease off her hands with a red work rag. I feel myself being turned on by looking at her body. She looks great in tank tops. I cleared my thoughts, and she said, " I would have been over at your house sooner, but some douche nozzle slashed all my tires". I said, "I wonder who it was." Kelly said, "No clue, but when I find out, they're dead meat." We walked over to the car, and Austin was sitting on the ground with a four-way tool, tightening the lug nuts on the wheels. He tightens the last one and lays the tool down on the ground. He grunts as he tries to raise up, but can't. He reaches up as Kelly holds out her small hand, and he grasps it with his big one. He holds on tight as she pulls him up to his feet. Austin is a big man, he's 6'4" and weighs in at least 200 lbs. I wouldn't have been able to make him budge. He said, " Well, now you have brand new tires." Kelly said, " Thanks, Dad". He said, " You're welcome, Kelly". She walks up on the porch and inside the house to wash her hands. Austin walks over to a small cooler and opens it, pulling out a Coors Banquet beer can. He snaps it open and takes a drink. He pulls out a soft pack of Marlboro Reds. He takes one out and taps it on his silver Zippo lighter, then puts it in his mouth, striking the lighter, but it doesn't light. Kelly is walking down the stairs. Austin strikes the lighter again, and nothing. Kelly pulls out a blue Bic lighter and hands it to him. He lights up his cigarette, and the smoke goes towards us. Kelly waves it out of her face in disgust. Austin hands her back the lighter, and she puts it in the pocket of her blue jeans. She now has on her blue jean jacket over the black tank top. Austin pulls out his brown leather wallet and hands Kelly three one-hundred-dollar bills. She puts them in her pocket, and he said, "I have to go out of town for a couple of days, so that's for your birthday and to get something to eat." Kelly said " Can I have a party here at the house?" He said " I suppose. But I swear if anything is stolen or damaged there will be repercussions". Kelly mocks him, and he smacks her in the back of the head with his hand. She glares up at him, and He said, " Smart ass". He walks up on the porch and then turns around. Austin said, "Remember what I said, young lady." Kelly smiled sarcastically, giving him a thumbs up as he turned around; she then flipped him off. We get in the car, and she puts the keys in the ignition and starts it up. She pushes the clutch in, then releases it as she pushes on the gas and shifts into first gear, pulling down the driveway. She drives the twenty minutes to school, pulling into the back parking lot. She pulls into a spot beside a sky-blue 1983 Toyota Corolla hatchback. She turns the car off, and we get out, closing the doors behind us. We walk around to the back of the car, where Dakota is standing. She smiles at me and I smile back. Kelly looks over at the car and snickers. She said to Dakota, "What the fuck is that?" Dakota smiled sarcastically, then said, "Kelly, always a pleasure." Kelly flipped her ponytail over her shoulder with an attitude. I said, "What happened to your Bronco?" Dakota said, "Someone slashed all the tires, so I had to drive my mom's car." Kelly said to Dakota, " Have you found another girlfriend yet, or are you gonna keep creeping on Kim?" Dakota rolled her eyes at the comment. She said, "Someone is extra sassy today." I said, "It's her birthday." Dakota said with sarcasm, "Aww, is someone finally sixteen?" Kelly flipped her off, Dakota smirked, then winked at me as Kelly looked away. Dakota is wearing her grey jacket, a black and white long-sleeved flannel, dark high-waisted blue jeans, and her black Chuck Taylors. I'm wearing my blue jean jacket, a black Aerosmith t-shirt, a pair of dark high-waisted blue jeans, and my black Nike Pegasus. Kelly is thinking. She said to Dakota, "So when you woke up this morning, all of your tires were slashed too?" Dakota said, "Yeah?" Kelly said, "Interesting." I said, " What are you getting with this?" Kelly turned around, looking at me and Dakota. She said, " I think the same fucker that slashed my tires also slashed Dakota's". I said " Maybe". Dakota said to Kelly, "You don't know that." Kelly said, "It's hilarious how both of our cars ended up with all four tires slashed. Someone did it, and I think it's someone here at school." Kelly is scanning the parking lot when Jane walks up. She said, "Who is she looking for?" I said, "Someone slashed all four of Kelly's tires and Dakota's this morning." Jane said, " Who did you piss off this time, Kelly?" She shrugged her shoulders. Kelly spots Natalie and Patrick standing in front of Natalie's black 1982 Z28 Camaro. Kelly said, " I bet it was those bitches". Jane said, "Maybe.. I mean, you did vanquish Ashley last month. "I said, " Yeah, and Natalie hasn't been right since then. It really hurt her, you can tell." Kelly scoffs, " They should have left us alone". Now I think about it, Natalie has been acting weird lately. Kelly goes to move, and I grab her arm, stopping her. She looks back at my hand on her arm. I said, " Kelly, don't. It's your birthday, and getting suspended wouldn't be a good thing to do right now, besides, your dad will kill you". For once in her life, she actually listens to me. I think I'm gonna fall over. Kelly leans back up against the trunk with her arms crossed. Jane is looking at her like she doesn't know her. Jane said, "Okay? Either I'm seeing things, or did Kelly just actually listen?" Kelly rolled her eyes, then said, "Kim is right. I'll confront the bitch another day." Dakota said, " Look who's growing up". Kelly gives her a side eye. Roy's truck pulls up and comes to a stop. Kyle gets out, walks around the front, and up to us. Roy pulls off waving at us. Kyle reaches into the pocket of his blue jean jacket and pulls out a small black box. Oh god.. please don't let that be what I think it is. Kelly sees it and is stunned. She said, "Kyle??" He laughed nervously, then said, "It's not a ring, I promise." He opened the box, and it was a silver chain that said "Kelly" in pretty cursive. She smiles at him, and he takes it out of the box, opening the clasp. He walks around, standing behind Kelly. He puts the necklace on, raising her ponytail. He closes the clasp and walks around, standing in front of her. She said, "It's beautiful, thanks, babe." She reached up, putting her arms around his neck, pulling him close as she kissed him. He kisses her back, holding onto her waist. Kyle has grown; he seems taller. They stop kissing, and he looks down at her with a smile. He said, "Happy birthday, beautiful." She smiled at him. We all walk down to the courtyard and into the school. I dial the combination on my lock and open my locker, pulling out a textbook and a binder. Suddenly, the door slams, startling me. I look up at Kelly, standing there; she's pissed off, I can see it in her eyes. She grabs the back of my neck with a forceful grip and says in a low tone, " Come with me". She leads me to the girls' bathroom. We walk in and around the corner, where she turns me around, pushing me into the wall by the last sink. She holds up a Polaroid picture and says, " What the fuck is this!?" I look at the picture and see Jane on top of me in my bed as she used a strap-on on me. I'm on my back with my hands on her waist; you can see the silver bracelet Kelly had made for me at the World's Fairgrounds. I'm at a loss for words. Kelly said, " Say something!" I'm trying to find the words I promised Jane I wouldn't tell anyone. I feel tears running down my face. Kelly grabs me by the throat, her eyes turned red, then she said, " Last chance, Kim.. who the fuck is this?!" I can't make myself say it. Kelly smacks me across the face, and all of a sudden Jane leaps onto Kelly's back, punching her in the back and in the head. Jane said, " You fucking bitch!! How dare you put your hands on her!!" Kelly spins with Jane on her back, then rams her back into the brick wall located where the corner is where you enter the bathroom. Jane exclaims at the impact as she falls off Kelly's back, sliding down the wall. Kelly turns around and says to Jane, " Stay out of this!!" I say, " Leave her alone!" Kelly turns around, looking at me, then says, " Tell me who this fucking whore is !!" Jane winces in pain as she stumbles up. She said to Kelly, " It's me!!" Kelly looks back at Jane then scoffs, " Yeah right.. nice try like you two would ever fuck". Jane said, " I'm not lying, Kelly! It is me!" Kelly said, " Prove it!" Jane reached in the back pocket of her jeans, pulling out another polaroid picture but this time I'm on top of Jane thrusting as she has her arms around my shoulders with her chin on my right shoulder. Kelly is stunned as she looks at the picture; she snatches it from her fingers. Jane walks over, standing beside me, and she rubs my back. Kelly looks up from the pictures at us, then says, "Why? And why the hell did you not invite me?" Jane says, "Because I just wanted the one-time experience." Kelly looks at Kim, then says, " I told you she was curious, but curious for you apparently". I said, " Jane promised me not to tell anyone. I did cheat on you, and I'm sorry, Kelly. I knew it would upset you". Kelly said, "I was until I realized it was Jane." Jane and I look at each other and roll our eyes. Jane said, "This is why we didn't want you to know Kelly, because you make it weird." Kelly said, " Well, now I know. Are you two gonna do it again?" She said with a smile. We both said together, " NO". Kelly groans. She said, "You two suck. Leave me out of the action." Jane said with disgust, " I'm not having sex with you, Kelly". Kelly said, " Come on, you should join me and Kim one time". She puts her arms around both of us, and Jane smacks her arm off her shoulder. Jane said, "It's never happening, Kelly, so get over it." I said, "She's not into girls." Kelly said, "Whatever, worth a shot." Jane said, " By the way". She slaps Kelly across the face, making her head turn. She looks back at Jane with a wicked smile. Jane said, " If I ever see you hit her like that again, you're dead". Kelly looks at me, then at Jane. She said, "I didn't mean to. I was upset. That was the first time I ever slapped her, right, Kim?" She looked at me with a certain expression and lied, "Yeah." Jane said, "Like I said." She reaches her hand out for the pictures and Kelly smirks putting them in the back pocket of her jeans. Jane said, "Give them to me." Kelly said, "Nah, I think I'll keep them. Nice birthday present if you ask me." Jane said in disgust, "Just another thing for you to jerk off to." Kelly said " So who was the top?" I said " Kelly stop". She said, " No, I want details... or everyone else can take a gander at these?" She is really blackmailing us for her own sick pleasure. Jane said, "You wouldn't. "Kelly gave her an evil look, then said, " Try me." Jane said, " We took turns, but I was". Kelly smiles at us, then says, " See? Now what was hard about that?" Jane says, " Fucking asshole". Kelly said as she winked at her, "You love it." Jane said to me, "I'll see you later." Kelly said to Jane, "Are you coming to my party tonight?" Jane was walking to the door, and she stopped, looking back at us. She looked at me, then at Kelly. She said, "I guess so." Jane walked out of the bathroom. Kelly grabs me by the throat, pushing me into the wall. She said with her lips inches away from mine, "You are so lucky it was Jane." She pushed her thumb into the side of my throat, and I said, " I'm sorry, Kelly." She said, " I know... you can make it up to me later". She winks at me, then lets me go, and we walk out of the bathroom to our classes.
