Chapter 37

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

It's been a month since Kelly and Dakota got into that big fight at Dakota's eighteenth birthday party. Everything was fine until Kelly pulled out that bottle of Tequila and started drinking with Dakota. It seemed like everything was fine at first we were doing body shots and having a good time but afterwards Kelly was drunk and got jealous of me and Dakota talking she says we were flirting and we weren't but Kelly accused me of it and I was drunk at that moment too we got into an argument. Kelly said I should just go ahead and fuck Dakota to get it over with and I blurted out that I already did. Kelly was so pissed and I said to make her more angry that Dakota loved it like Mandi did when she fucked her again. Kelly lost it and slapped me across the face then proceed to choke me with both hands on my throat. Dakota just so happened to be walking by to her room and saw it because Kelly left the bathroom door cracked. They got into that big fist fight and ended up outside fighting in the gravel driveway. The cops arrived and everyone had to run to avoid being arrested for underage drinking and for the second time in my life I ran from the cops. I out ran a cop that was chasing me from a distance he couldn't keep up with me thank god he never seen my face. Kelly and Dakota were still fighting when we all ran off and they were pulled apart by the cops. Kelly turned around and socked a cop in the nose and broke it. That cop was Jacob's uncle his name is Allen Patterson he was unaware that Jacob was there at the party. Dakota spent a few days in the county jail for the Underage drinking and Disorderly Conduct but got away with assault on a minor cause Kelly didn't press charges on Dakota and she didn't press any either. But Kelly was charged with Underage drinking, Disorderly conduct, Assault & Battery on a police officer. Jacob's uncle pressed charges on Kelly and she got sentenced to a month in Juvenile. She was supposed to be released on September 18th but not even a few days there she got into a fight with four girls because they all tried to jump her but Kelly kicked all their asses and got thrown into solitary confinement so they added another week for punishment.

Today is October 1, 1984; she's out and is gonna be at school. A part of me missed her but the other part of me wished they kept her longer cause I have enjoyed the break from her and I got to spend more time alone with Kyle without her butting in he enjoyed her being away too. We spent the whole month together and it was amazing and completely different from being with Kelly it was like day and night that's how different they are. Kyle is sweet, patient and considerate of my feelings and you know Kelly isn't. I didn't have to worry about Kyle getting angry and hitting me like she does but with Kyle that would never happen because he doesn't believe in hitting a woman no matter how much she may deserve it. I know you're probably wondering if I slept with Kyle? No I didn't. I care way too much about him to put his life in danger like that cause if we ever did that Kelly would kill us both and I can't risk Kyle's life like that it would be irresponsible and I wouldn't be able to live with myself if anything ever happened to him because of me. But now we have to return to reality with our abusive and evil girlfriend. I just got done getting ready for school.I put on my dark blue jean jacket, a grey t-shirt that is from Bon Jovi's Runaway tour, a pair of high waisted Ralph Lauren blue jeans and my black and white Vans. I'm down stairs in the kitchen putting dishes in the dishwasher from dinner last night with my parents. We had a nice dinner with Dad before he left for the road last night and My mom went into work at 3am this morning. I closed the door on the dishwasher and walked over to the backdoor letting Zeke in from the backyard. I close the door and lock it back. As I'm walking down the hallway and into the foyer I hear my beeper beep and I pull it out of my front pocket looking at the message. It's from Kelly it says 607 which means I miss you I ignore the message. I walk into the living room and pick up my Walkman off the coffee table with my headphones and unzip my backpack putting it inside I zip it back and pick it up putting it on my right shoulder. I hear Zeke's paws tapping in the hallway I look over at him standing in the foyer. I walk up to him and pat my chest. He gets up on his back legs standing up infront of me with his paws on my shoulders he licks my face as I pet his back. Zeke is taller than me when we stands up like this. Zeke is about 5'5" on his back legs so he is as tall as Dakota and just a little taller than Kelly. He gets down and I pet his head as I walk up to the front door. I open the door and walk out on the front porch closing the door I lock it with my keys. I walk down to my car parked in the driveway and get inside after getting it going I'm driving down Woodland Avenue. About ten minutes later I'm pulling into the back parking lot of the school I park beside Jane's red 1982 Toyota Supra. I shut off the car and pull the keys out of the ignition and grab my backpack getting out I close the door behind me. I walk around to the back of my car where Jane is now standing. She said " Isn't Kelly getting out of Juvenile today?" I said begrudgingly " Yeah". Jane said " They should have kept her longer she broke Jacob's uncle's nose when he pulled her off of Dakota.
