Chapter 99

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

One Month later..

It's been a month since Jane had Taylor and Eric. What happened was Kelly caused Jane to have a Uterine rupture. That is when the muscular wall of the uterus tears. Taylor and Eric were in danger of losing oxygen, and Jane was bleeding. That's why she passed out when we got to the hospital. They performed an Emergency C-section on her, getting Taylor and Eric out safely. Jane had to stay in the hospital for eight days afterward and at home to recover for a few weeks. But now she's back on her feet and working. Since she and Jason both work, James has offered to help them. James is now retired from working at the car factory where he worked for over twenty years. James watches Taylor and Eric on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Until either Jane or Jason gets off work. Jane usually gets off work before Jason, but sometimes, she works until 5 pm or 6 pm on Fridays. Everything has been fine since then. Dakota and Macy got back together shortly after Jane had the twins. Dakota apologized for kissing me that day. She said that she isn't in love with me but has thought about me off and on over the years. Dakota didn't plan the kiss. Her emotions were running high, and it happened in the heat of the moment. As for my job, I forwarded Nancy the e-mail from Kelly the night Jane had the twins. But Kelly was smart and didn't leave anything to incriminate herself at the end of the e-mail she signed K.D. That's how I knew it was from her. I told Nancy that I hadn't lost the file and that there was proof that someone had stolen it. Nancy asked if I knew who K.D. was, and I told her that her name was Kelly Davidson and that she was an Investment Banker over at Apex Finance, the Financial Advisory firm down the street from our Accounting firm. I've seen Kelly downtown because her office is down the street. It's a Skyscraper building that has several companies inside about 40 floors. Kelly's firm is on the 30th floor. I told Nancy that Kelly and I were frenemies in High school and had a falling out when I started dating Kyle after they broke up and she found out she was pregnant with Kevyn. Nancy believed me but said we had no proof that it was Kelly and that my frenemy story paints me as the boyfriend stealer. She wasn't calling me a boyfriend stealer because I told her that's not how it happened, but it could look that way. I still haven't gotten the file back. Nancy said that she told the company that Kelly had stolen the file and that they had given us a few weeks to pay them again. So that's what I did for about two weeks, and finally, the company got their money, and I kept my job. Kelly isn't gonna stop until she destroys my life and everyone else's. She nearly killed Jane and her kids. Every time she's done something, we've either been able to stop it or fix it, but Kelly always gets away and is always one step ahead of us. Today is Monday, January 2, 1995. Kyle and I went out for the New Year last night with Jane, Jason, Shana, Jacob, Kat, James, Dakota, Macy, K.J., Debby, Jack, Mom, Terri, Don, Bryce, and Tanya. We all went to Calhoun's on the Tennessee River over by Finway College. We all had drinks, ate food, and had a great time. Macy and I went outside and talked. I apologized for grabbing her by the throat as I did, and I explained to her that I just found out about that file. She also apologized for losing her temper and not trusting Dakota when she said she had no feelings for me. But Dakota didn't tell Macy she kissed me, so I didn't say anything because it didn't mean anything. Jesse is having Sam and Riley next Month on February 23. She is nervous and excited at the same time. Brandon, Terri, Don, Bryce, and Tanya are overjoyed. Initially, they were all shocked by the news, especially Terri, but they've all come together and are ready to welcome Sam and Riley into the world. Shana just found out that she's having a girl. They named her Danielle Lynn Patterson, and they will call her Dani. I'm so happy for Jane, Jesse, and Shana, but at the same time, I can't help but feel a little sad because I'm still trying to get pregnant and have my kid. But I'm not giving up. Like Mom said, this takes time and will happen. I know one thing: my kid is going to have friends. I can see her being best friends with Taylor, Eric, Sam, Riley, and Dani. It's Noon, and I'm about to go to the Café for lunch with K.J. and Dakota. I get up from my desk and walk down to Dakota's desk. K.J. isn't at her desk. She's in the copy room running off copies. As I walk up, Dakota stands up. She is wearing a white short-sleeved button-up blouse. I spot bruises on her left bicep that look like fingerprints. I said as I stared at the bruises. " What happened to your arm?" She looks down at the bruises and pulls the sleeve to cover them more. She said quietly as her face blushed a little. " Do you want to know?" I smiled and said, " It's not like I don't already know things about you." Dakota puts on her black blazer and adjusts her black tie. She looked around and said, " Macy got a little rough in bed with me last night." I smiled at her and said, " Already rolling around in the sheets, aren't you?" Dakota blushed and said, " Maybe." I smile at her. I said, " She must be strong.. she probably didn't realize that she bruised you". Dakota said, " She saw it this morning and apologized.. I told her that it's okay.. besides I'm used to things like that". I can't help but blush as she smiles at me. I said, " Yeah, I remember bruising you too". Dakota winks at me, and we walk up to K.J.'s desk. Then we walk down the stairs and out the doors of the office. As we walked down the sidewalk, K.J. was talking about the bruises cause she saw them before me. K.J. said as she winked at Dakota," So if you don't mind me asking.. how is Macy in bed?" Dakota blushed as we both grinned at her. She said, " She's amazing.. for her to only be twenty-two, Macy knows what she's doing". K.J. and I both giggle as Dakota keeps blushing. I said, messing with her, " Those young ones will wear you out." We heard a familiar voice. " The old ones will, too." We all stop walking, and Kelly stands in her black blazer, white button-down shirt, black dress pants, and black high heels. I stare at her as she grins evilly, standing there. Kelly said, " Terri might be older, but she sure can go.." I feel my anger rising as I squeeze my fists. K.J. doesn't know our secrets, but she thinks we are all human. Dakota said as she stared at Kelly, " We all know that Terri didn't want you.. but as always, you got your way.".. Kelly grinned evilly and stepped closer to us. She said as she looked down at me. " She enjoyed every minute of it.." I growl as I go for her, but Dakota grabs me and holds me back as Kelly cackles evilly. She looks at K.J. and winks at her as she walks by us down the sidewalk. Dakota lets go of me, and K.J. looks confused as she stares at us. K.J. said, " What was that? And who the hell is that bitch?" Dakota and I looked at each other and then at K.J. We walked down to the Café and sat down at a table. I said as I made up a story, " Kelly is my ex-girlfriend from high school.. About four months ago, she drugged my friend Terri and took advantage of her.." I can't tell her the truth that Kelly possessed Terri and she had sex with her while under the influence of evil. K.J. is so shocked as she stares at me. She said, " She raped her?" I said, " Yeah." K.J. said, " She's was older.. how old is Terri?" I said, " She's thirty-nine.. I've known Terri since I was a baby. She's my Mom best friend and Jane's Mom's best friend.. Kelly did it to hurt me".. Dakota is looking at me from across the table with a look of sympathy. K.J. said, " Did they arrest Kelly?" I said, " Nope.. she got away with it cause there was no proof or witnesses, and Terri can't remember anything". But what makes it worse is Terri remembers everything while Kelly possessed her. K.J. is pissed. She said, " Someone needs to kick her ass". I said, " I already have, and so has Debby, Jane's Mom." I wish I could tell K.J. the truth, but I don't want it to scare like Julia did when Heather swapped our bodies. Dakota suddenly looks up, and I see a nervous look in her eyes. I look up, and Macy smiles. Macy grins at Dakota as she opens the menu and looks at it. Macy said, " What can I get you?" K.J. said, " I'll have a plain salad with a small bag of Sour cream and onion chips and a Coke." I looked at Dakota as she stared at the menu, not looking at Macy. I told Macy, " I'll have the ham salad with ranch, a small bag of cool ranch Doritos, and a can of wild cherry Pepsi." Dakota said, " I'll have the chicken salad, a small can of Pringles, and a can of Mountain Dew." She hands the menu to her, and Macy grins at her as she looks at Dakota. She gets our menus and walks back to the restaurant. That was a little weird, but Dakota could have acted bashful because they slept together last night. We talked, and Macy brought out our food. Dakota watched as Macy walked away, then smiled at me. After our break was over, we walked back down to the office. Kelly passed by us on the way down. She grinned evilly at me, and I flipped her off as K.J. and Dakota laughed. We walked back up to the office and got back to work. Around 4:30 pm, Darla appears in the chair in front of my desk. Darla grins as she stares at me while I'm typing on the keyboard. Darla said, " So the new girl doesn't know your secret?" I looked down at K.J. She looked at a file and then typed something. I looked back at Darla and whispered, " Yeah.. and I'm keeping it that way.".. Darla scoffed and said, " She'll find out eventually.. and when she does, she'll think you're a freak". I roll my eyes, and Darla disappears from the chair. It's a little after 5 pm, and I'm finishing up. Dakota has already left, and K.J. is still at her desk. I turned off the computer after saving everything. I get up, pick up my black blazer, and put it on. I pick up my black North Face jacket putting it on. Since it's winter, we are wearing black pants with our uniforms. Kyle loves the tie that goes with my uniform, and he says I look so sexy. I put my bag on my shoulder and walk down by Nancy's office, where she's already gone for the day. I walk down the stairs and out the doors. I make it to the parking lot and see a flat tire on the back of my car. I open the driver's door and put my bag in the passenger seat. I close the door and walk around to the trunk. I open it with my keys and pull out the scissor jack. I placed it on the ground and lowered the handle so it would fit under the car. I place it in the spot for the jack. I slowly crank the handle clockwise, and it goes up and on the spot. I turn the jack handle clockwise, and the back wheel slowly comes off the ground. Once it's up, I get up and go back for the tire iron. It's the one with the top for loosening or tightening lug nuts, and the handle is straight. I look down and see it in the trunk. I pick it up, and it's bent in half. I scoff as I realize that Darla did this. I start bending it back straight, using my telekinetic strength, and the bar makes a noise as it straightens. I hear someone gasp, and I look up at K.J. standing a little while away from my car. I stare at her as I think great with sarcasm. I said, "K.J." She was stunned as she stared at my hands, still holding the tire iron. She said, " How did you do that??" I said as I smiled, trying to get out of it, " I'm just strong." K.J. said, " There is no way you could just do that... Hell, I'm not even that strong."... I walked up to her, and she stepped back a step. I said as I stared at her, " I'm not gonna hurt you.".. K.J. said, " How did you do that, Kim?? It's like you have Super Strength". I breathed and said, " Fine.. you wanna know?" K.J. stared at me and shook her head yes. I said, " If I tell you this, you have to promise me that you're not gonna tell anyone.".. K.J. said as she stared at my hands, " Seeing what you can do to that tire iron.. I'd say it's safe that I'm not gonna say anything"... I said, " I'm a witch I have magical powers." K.J. is so stunned as she stares at me. She said, " I thought witches cast spells, make potions, and ride on broomsticks." I giggled softly, then said, " I do cast spells and make potions, but I don't ride on brooms. That's a myth". K.J. is stunned but isn't scared. She believes me. I can sense it. She said, " That doesn't explain your strength". I said, " I'm a Telekinetic-witch. I have several telekinetic abilities". K.J. said, " Like Carrie from that movie?" I giggled softly and said, " Yes, but I'm not crazy like that." K.J. smiled at me and said, " If Carrie was real could you fight her with your powers?" I smile and say, " I could kick Carrie's ass." She said, " This is so cool"... I'm stunned as I stare at her. I said, " So you're not afraid of me?" K.J. said, " I'm not gonna lie, that was very intimidating what I saw you do.. but I trust you, and I know you would never hurt me". She smiles at me. I said, " Good.. so remember, never tell anyone". K.J. said, " I promise.. besides, people would think I was crazy". That went well, surprisingly. She stayed there and watched me change my tire, and I taught her because she didn't know how to do it. My Dad taught me to do many manly things like this growing up.
