Chapter 96

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

One Month later..

It's been a month since Terri left with Kelly. She was upset when she found out Jesse was pregnant. To the point where she felt like she had failed Jesse as her mother. Seeing that look in Terri's eyes was heartbreaking. Jesse was devastated when Terri ran out of the house with her car keys and drove off. We all thought she was coming back but when she didn't Don reported her missing after she didn't show up for work the next day. Kelly had seen another opportunity and possessed Terri while she was in that state of mind. When we couldn't pull her out of it Shana sensed for her but she wasn't there anymore the possession had taken her over fully. Kelly took Terri's hand and pulled off her wedding ring tossing it to the floor then they teleported away leaving us all shocked. Jesse was falling apart as she was on her knees on the living room floor. Don and I pulled her up and she just lay on the couch and sobbed for hours. Jesse, Brandon, Don, Bryce, and Tanya all had a long and serious talk about the pregnancy. Jesse said she refuses to have an abortion or to give the baby up for adoption. Don, Bryce, and Tanya were all against the abortion part but told Jesse and Brandon that adoption is their choice or Jesse could have the baby and they all help them raise it. They chose for Jesse to have the baby and they raise it with their help and Terri's when she comes back. But it's been a month and everyone is beginning to wonder if Terri will ever come back. Today is Monday, July 4, 1994 it is the Fourth of July and everyone is off work. We are all at Terri and Don's house celebrating. Everyone is trying to smile and get through the day but it's hard when Terri isn't here. To keep the Police from getting suspicious Don said Terri returned but said she needed to go on a vacation to think. So Don had Debby and Ann cast a spell on the hospital staff to make them believe that Terri had requested a vacation from work. Don showed them the paperwork that Debby had typed up one copy for the hospital and another for the Police to look at and they believed it so now Don won't be a suspect and Terri won't lose her job at the hospital. But everyone else knows the truth that Terri has been missing for a month with Kelly and god only knows what Kelly is up to. It's about 3:00 pm and I'm out in the backyard with Kyle, Jane, Jason, Jesse, Don, Brandon, Bryce, Tanya, Kat, James, Debby, Jack, Mom, Shana, Jacob, Lori, Kelvin and Kay Terri's parents, my Grand Mom Kenzie and my Grand Dad Mack, Dakota, Noah, Simon, Paula, Jimmy, Shane, Adrian, Roy and Renee Kyle's parents, James Jason's Dad, Diana and Mason. We are waiting for Xander, Dana, and Avery to arrive. Kelvin is 5'11" and weighs about 175. His hair is short with some length on the sides and back his bangs lay on his forehead the color of his hair is brown with grey all through it. Kay is 5'3" and weighs about the same as Terri 138. Her hair is short and lays on her shoulders the color of her hair is a dark brown like Terri's but with an amount of grey. Kelvin is Fifty-seven and Kay is Fifty-six they had Terri when they were eighteen. They don't live here in Knoxville anymore they moved to Ohio in 1983. Kelvin owns an Auto shop out there with several more around the states and one here in Knoxville. Kay is an RN like Terri but works at the hospital in Ohio. Kay is also a Guardian-Witch and Kelvin is human. Kay has the same powers as Terri and Jesse. They have both been pretty upset that Terri is missing. They look lost like the rest of us but their worry is much different because they are her parents and she is their only child. At 4:00 pm there is still no sign of Xander, Dana, and Avery. Jane and I walk into the kitchen from the backdoor. As we step inside we can hear the landline ringing off the hook. I rush into the living room on the couch near the front door and pick up the phone. I said " Hello?" I can hear sobbing from the other end. Dana said as she sobbed " Kim.. it's Xander.. we were at the firework shop and".. She stops talking and continues sobbing. I said I got a bad feeling " What happened??" Dana said as she sobbed " Xander was shot.. these men were trying to rob him.. he had forgotten his wallet and went back out for it.. and it happened".. She exclaims as she sobs. I have tears running down my face as I say " We're coming". I hang up the phone putting it back down on the receiver. Jane is looking at me with a worried look. She said " Kim?? what happened?" I said, " It's Xander.. he was shot outside the firework store". Jane gasps as she covers her mouth she begins to cry. We rushed outside and I said to Don " Xander was shot outside the firework store".. Don was so shocked as he looked at us. He said " Go be with Dana.. we'll be here when you get back".. Me, Kyle, Jane, Jason, Kat, James, Shana, and Jacob all drive down to the hospital by Finway High. We all walk into the emergency room where we find Dana, with her parents Dane and Eve, and Xander's parents Tim and Gena. I walk up to Dana and she hugs me as she sobs. I look at her Mom holding Avery in her arms as she plays with her hair. I looked at her and said " Have they said anything yet?" Dana said as she cried " No.. I'm so scared"... We waited for about twenty-five minutes until the doctor walked out. He pulled down his surgical mask and said to Dana " I'm so sorry Mrs. Porter but he didn't make it". he said with a sad expression. Dana exclaims in agony as she breaks down sobbing. Her Dad is holding her up as she screams and cries into his chest. The doctor said, " I'm sorry for your loss.. I'll give you all some time"... He walked back into the doors. Avery doesn't know what's going on but is crying because of how upset Dana is. At that point, Dana couldn't even talk. she was crying so much. Her parents and Xander's parents took her to a room in the hospital. A room you go to when you lose a loved one. So we all left and went back to Terri and Don's house. We walked back to the backyard and Jesse walked up to us. She said " Is Xander okay??" We all have tears in our eyes. I said as I cried " He didn't make it sweetie".. Jesse put her hands on her face and began to sob. Don has tears running down his face as he pulls me into a hug I cry on his chest. After a couple of seconds, he looks down at me. He said, " We'll dedicate the last big firework to him and Terri.. May Xander rest in peace.. and Terri return to us"... He broke down sobbing as I hugged him with my hand on the back of his head. Afterward, Jesse hugs him as they both sob. Kelvin and Kay group hug with them as they all cry. There isn't a dry eye right now.. everyone is upset about Xander.. and Terri... Later on, when it got dark we all started shooting off the fireworks one by one until Don got to the last one. It was one that shot off about twenty shots in different colors. Don is in the middle of the backyard he lit the fuse and rushed back to us several feet back. The big firework begins to shoot off with explosions in the air in many different colors. All the adults that have a beer and the ones that aren't pregnant all raise our drinks in the air for Xander and Terri and take a drink. After it was done Kay and Jesse walked to the middle of the yard. They held hands as they closed their eyes radiating white energy that swirled around them and formed into a ball. They are doing this in hopes that Terri can sense it and feel their magic. Hoping that it will lead her back home. The ball disappears and they open their eyes. Jesse said as she looked at Kay " Grandmama Do you think Mom is coming home??" Kay said as she looked up at the moon " I just know she is Jesse.. Your Mom is a very strong woman.." Jesse stood there as Kay looks up at the night sky. She said as she cried " Return to us Terri.. please come back home we need you.. I want my baby home with her family.. You have a beautiful future ahead of you with your baby.. and her baby".. Jesse put her arm around Kay and lays her head on her right shoulder. Jesse said " I love you Grandmama".. Kay said, " I love you too Jesse Lee"...
