Chapter 28

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

Last time we went out to that corn maze in Greenville Tennessee and it was fun until Drax who was dressed as the Texas Chainsaw Massacre chased us through the corn field with a real chainsaw. At the time we didn't know it was him and he chased deeper in where we were ambushed by Ashley, Natalie and Mandi. Those vines came up from the ground and trapped us all excluding Kelly who was still on the ground. As Ashley, Natalie and Mandi began to chant their tattoos lit up a red color and shot red beams from them and into the dark sky where a huge red beam came down shooting into Kelly's chest. It stole her soul and when the vines let go her body just dropped to the ground. When I got free I checked her pulse and there wasn't one. I thought she was dead for a second but there just wasn't a soul occupying her body. I used my telekinetic flight to float high into the air where I pointed my hand at the sky using my telekinesis to bring her soul back down from the dark sky. I returned her soul and when she woke up I was struck in the back by demonic lightning it made me fall but Kelly caught me just in time. Ashley, Natalie, Mandi, Drax and Evian fled when I broke free. Jane and Kelly quickly teleported me to Terri and she healed me before I became paralyzed. Rick was there with us and seen the whole thing and in Terri's backyard he was freaking out so I calmed him down a little and told him the truth. Today is Friday November 18, 1983; I'm sitting on the couch waiting for Kelly to come pick me up for school. I cough into my right hand and remember that I need to take some cough medicine. I'm getting over a cold that I've had for week. I didn't have a fever but Kelly didn't care and still kissed me I still went to school though. I walk into the kitchen and up to the medicine cabinet above the counter top where the sink is. I open the door and pick up the glass bottle of Robitussin cough syrup. I walk over to the silverware drawer that's under the dish drainer and open it pulling out a spoon. I open the bottle and easily pour a spoonful I make a grossed out face as I swallow the liquid. I turn on the sink rinsing off the spoon and shutting off the water. I open the dishwasher and put the spoon in the basket with the other dirty silverware and close it back I put the cap back on the medicine and put it back in the cabinet closing it back. I walk over to the fridge opening it pulling out a bottle of water. I twist the cap off and take a drink getting that awful taste out of my mouth. I hear the car horn outside and I lock the backdoor and walk through the hallway and turn right by the stairs and into the living room. Zeke is laying on my black Jansport back I smile and walk over and he rolls over on the couch off my backpack. I dust off the dog hair and rub his belly as he yawns. I pick up my house key off the end table and walk into the foyer. I walk out closing the door behind me and lock the door with my key. I walk down to the car and get in the passenger seat closing the door. Kelly has a joint in her mouth she takes her right hand and takes a hit and hands it to me. I take a hit and pass it back. She's pulling off down the road she hits it one last time and tosses the roach out the window. She stops at a stop sign and leans over opening the glovebox pulling out her Diva perfume she sprays herself twice and puts it back in and I close the glovebox. I can smell the perfume in the air. The floral and spicy combination is a nice smell. I open my bag and pull out my Signature perfume by Tova and spray it once on my shirt. It's a powdery fresh scent that Kelly is nuts over she smiles at me as she drives.

She turns up the hill between the school and the hospital. She turns right into the back parking lot and parks her car in a space that is about ten down from the gym. She turns off the car and puts the keys in her jacket and we both get out. We are standing at back like always Kelly scans the parking lot when a black 1983 Harley Davidson motorcycle pulls up beside Kelly's car. It's Rick he kicks the kickstand out and gets off of it pulling the helmet off his head. His long blonde ponytail falls out he sees us looking at him well me Kelly has looked away. He smiles at me with his pretty white teeth that are straight as they can be. Okay I'll admit now that he isn't a douche bag anymore he is kind of cute. He keeps looking at me as he pulls out his ponytail and shakes his long blonde hair out he winks at me and I look away. I have noticed that Rick flirts with me a lot more lately he flirted with me before but he was rude about it now he's respectful about it. He knows I don't feel that way about him but he still continues to flirt but it's harmless so I'm fine with it. Rick lights up a cigarette as he walks over to us. Kelly smells the cigarette and makes a face at the smell. She said to Rick " Those things will kill you one day". He puffs on it and said " I gotta die somehow". I catch him checking me out. I look at him he looks away to the right at the parking lot. Two guys about fifteen or sixteen approach Kelly for weed. They hand her the money and she turns around opening the trunk and the secret compartment. As she's doing this those guys are giggling quietly at Rick. He said to them " Something you wanna say?" The first one has a Tom Cruise hair cut, He said to Rick as he pointed at me " Aren't you Rick? the one that got his ass kicked by her?" Rick said " Yeah so?" The same guy said " That's so lame you got beat up by a girl that small". Rick said " What can I say? I deserved it and she may not look like much but she can whip both of you at the same time". The guys laugh sarcastically and the first one said as he looked at me up and down " She sure is a babe". He winks at me and Kelly roughly smacks the bag of weed into his chest. He is surprised as he puts the weed in his pocket. Rick said " Besides she can kick me in the face any day". Kelly gives him a stare and he clears his throat. Kelly looks at the two guys who keep looking at me with googly eyes. She said to them " Now get lost and don't make me ask twice". The first one goes to say something and she growls low as she grabs his shirt and slowly lifts him off the ground. He is so stunned as he stares at her. She said as she stared at him " Next time I catch you looking at my woman like that I will be the last thing you ever see.. got it??" He shakes his head in fear and she drops him to the ground on his butt. His friend pulls him up and they run away very fast. Kelly laughs evilly as she watches them. I said " Behave now Kelly". She turns around and puts her hands on the trunk as my back touches it. She is inches away from my face as She said " I've gotta show these punks who you belong to". She turns her head to the right and kisses me softly. I open my eyes and see her looking over at Rick as she kisses me. She pulls away and looks over at some girl who said her name. I look over at Rick and he looks a little upset as he quickly looks away from me. He's wearing his black leather jacket, a plain white t-shirt, a pair of dark Wrangler jeans and his black motorcycle boots He doesn't wear those tight clothes anymore. I'm wearing my dark blue jean jacket, a black t-shirt that says ZZ Top Eliminator from the 1983 album, a pair of dark high waisted jeans and my black Nike Pegasus. Kelly is wearing her blue jean jacket, her black t-shirt that has the band Kiss on it, a pair of dark high waisted blue jeans and her grey and red Reeboks.
