Chapter 82

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

Monday March 19, 1990

It's been a whole year since Heather took Mom, Debby, and Terri's souls and trapped them inside her body so she could keep their souls and powers meaning that they would be forever trapped inside the demon. At first, me and Jane were lost without them because they always knew what to do or what to say but Shana encouraged us that we could do it without them. I got Shana to call Lori cause she was back in town from a business trip. Lori arrived and said that Mom and Debby had called her asking for help. They wanted her to summon Heather to the Pentagram in the middle of the foyer floor so that she and Shana could channel all of our magic into them and it would be enough to free Terri. We weren't sure if the Pentagram could summon demons so we tested it first by summoning Kelly to it. We summoned Heather and she began attacking using Debby and Mom's powers. She then turned and started torturing Kelly with Terri's powers. We were all powering up as this was happening. We all let go of Lori and Shana's hands and they both shot those purple beams from their eyes at Heather and hit her in the chest sucking out Mom, Debby, and Terri's souls. The energies reconstructed them before our eyes and Mom was powered up floating in the air with the green energy radiating she floated back to the ground and exclaimed in anger as she uppercut Heather sending her soaring into the air and busting out of the ceiling where she flew high into the sky disappearing out of sight. Mom had turned around and was staring at me as tears streamed down her face. We hugged each other tightly and Mom looked at me and said that she could feel how lost I was without her.. and that she knows one day I'm gonna live without her.. that it scared her so much.. She broke down crying as I held her telling her she was not going anywhere and that I wouldn't let it happen.. Dad and Jack came back and walked in giving Mom and Debby a kiss. Dad looked up at the hole in the ceiling and joked that Heather was in space. She wasn't but Mom apparently hit her so hard that she flew clear across Oldham and Woodland Avenue where she landed in a pool in someone's backyard. A lot has changed in a year, I'm now twenty-one I'll be twenty-two next month everyone else is a year older as well. I'm now in my Senior year of College and in the second semester which means I will be graduating in June with Kyle, Jason, Kat, Dana, Declan, Heather, and Shane. Jane graduated last year with a four-year degree in Nursing, and Shana also graduated last year with a four-year degree in Psychology. They both are back for Two year Master's degrees. Jacob also graduated with a four-year degree in Business and he's back for three years of Law school. Kelly and Mandi both graduated with four-year degrees in Business they are now working as Investment Bankers. Karen, Holly, and Jimmy will be graduating in June of 1992. Julia will graduate in 1991. Jimmy proposed to Karen last spring and they are getting married this week on the 24th of March, Jason proposed to Jane on her birthday last year and she of course said yes, Jacob and Shana are also getting married in May this year. Heather didn't even try anything on us for a whole year but she still picked at us like always so it was actually a peaceful and happy year but it wasn't for others. Julia and Dakota broke up in January of this year. Dakota is working all the time non-stop and Julia is very busy with her classes. They didn't live together and didn't get to spend a lot of time together but that wasn't what broke them up. Julia's parents came to her apartment off Campus without telling her and walked in on her and Dakota making out on the couch. They lost it and started yelling at her and stormed out of the apartment. Julia followed them out trying to explain but her Dad turned around and said that they were very disappointed in her for being involved with the same sex that it wasn't right in God's eyes and demanded that she stop seeing Dakota but Julia refused her Dad said that he disowns her and they got in the car and drove off. Dakota felt horrible and they talked but decided it was best that they stop seeing each other out of fear that her parents would out Dakota to her Dad, Simon, and Paula. Julia has told us that she's moving back to Florida after she graduates. This year I have Financial Analysis with Professor Carl Trott he's a white man in his mid-forties, Then I have Investment and Portfolio Management with Professor Blanche Dutton, she is a white woman in her late forties, Then I have Database Systems with Professor Isaac Gordon he is a black man in his early fifties, Then I have International Economics with Professor Annette Brady she's a white woman in her late thirties she is probably the same age as Mom, Then I have Business and Application tools with Professor Tobias Remington he is a mixed man in his late thirties. This year I still have no classes with Kyle and I didn't get any with Kat and I didn't get any with Heather thank god. Something else happened over the year. Shane and Holly got back together after Karen and Holly had a falling out over Holly taking Shane back when Karen begged her not to because Shane was abusive to Holly. But she swears he's changed and that he apologized to her. He even apologizes to Karen for the fight at James and Kat's house but Karen doesn't trust Shane and told Holly she didn't want anything to do with her if she got back with him. Holly was crushed but backed off giving Karen space they had stopped messing around but Karen was only looking out for Holly. They eventually made up and started speaking again this year but you can tell Karen still doesn't trust Shane but is putting up with him for Holly. We are all invited to the wedding, Karen has asked Kat to be her bridesmaid and Jimmy asked James to be his best man. With Heather not doing anything to us for a year makes me feel like she was working on something all year knowing her. Technology has changed since then more people are starting to use portable CD players more instead of Walkmans making the sales decline. Not all Cellphones aren't bricks anymore they are slowly becoming more popular and more advanced some of them even open now to get to the keys they call them flip phones. I just bought my first cellphone not too long ago so did Kyle and the others. It's called the Motorola MicroTAC 9800X it's black and it's one of those flip phones it opens revealing the keys and it has an antenna. Almost everyone I know has one now even Mom, Debby, and Terri. I just got out of Financial Analysis and I'm headed to the Student Union to meet Kyle and the others for lunch. I meet Jane, Kat, Karen, and Holly outside in the courtyard and we all walk down to the bridge. As we walk Karen runs her fingers through her bangs she now wears an 18-carat diamond ring on her left hand that is designed like a Daisy flower with seven diamonds that band is gold it's a really beautiful ring. As we approach the bridge Heather rudely bumps into Karen as she passes by from the right she was walking behind us. Karen gets annoyed and said to her " Watch where you're going!" Heather looked back and said to her with sarcasm " Learn how to walk". Karen said with sarcasm, " You were the one that bumped into me, Klutz". Heather turns her head back and keeps walking. Karen said, " I swear if I could get away with it I'd throw her ass off this bridge right now". We all giggled at her comment as we walked down the bridge and inside the Student Union where we stood in the line behind Heather. She turns around towering over us all. She stares down at the ring on Karen's hand. Heather said, " I see Jimmy finally popped the question". Karen said with sarcasm " Nah I just like wearing an engagement ring". She smirks at Heather as she glares we all giggle softly. Heather said as she twirled the end of Karen's long dark hair with at curls the end " You need a real attitude adjustment.. I'd be more than happy to give it to you". She said with a grin being perverted. Karen smacks her hand away from her hair and says with a comeback " And I'd be more than happy to black both of your eyes". Heather just grinned evilly and said to Karen " You're so cute when you're angry just like Kim". She turns back around. Heather has been flirting with all of my friends who are women she is doing it to mess with me. We got our food and sat down at a table with Kyle, Jason, Jacob, Jimmy, Declan, and Shane as Heather walked outside with her lunch smiling evilly at me as she passed by.
