Chapter 56

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

After being arrested we were released after a couple of hours because they had nothing against us to keep us there. Mom had to come get me out after she was released. They were about to raid the place and we didn't know that we were in the right place at the wrong time. We told them we were looking for our cars and they said that was their job but we know what these people really are which are demons and the police are in more danger than they realize. Hopefully they only come across the humans and not the demons cause they won't think twice about killing a cop. Kyle's car was beyond saving so was Mom's and Terri's they are all pretty pissed about it I would be too. Kyle has to save up more money to buy a new one after what the leprechauns did to it the last time he used almost all of his savings to pay for it to be fixed. That was two weeks ago it's Thursday April 17, 1986 my eighteenth birthday is tomorrow it's my last day of being a teenager. Mom and Dad are a bit sad cause I've grown up so fast. Dad spent yesterday with me and Mom for my birthday because he couldn't get my actual birthday off and Mom has to go into work at 5:30pm on my birthday so after school we are gonna have a small party. Mom is trying to put on a brave face but I can tell it really makes her sad that I'm already an adult. I just got done fixing my hair for school. I walk into the bathroom and wash my hands then I walk back to my room and get my keys and my beeper off my nightstand. I walk down stairs and into the foyer I turn left walking down the hallway that leads into the kitchen and up to the back door. I open it and let Zeke inside he walks over to his water bowl and takes a drink. I walk back down into the foyer and get my back pack off the coat rack attached to the wall and I pick up my Walkman off the small table sitting by the railing leading up the stairs and unzip my backpack putting it in with my textbooks and a Trapper keeper binder. I walk out the front door and lock it with my keys. I'm driving down Woodland Avenue on my way to get Kyle. I'm wearing my Levi Tucker blue jean jacket, a blue t-shirt that says Bob Seger and the silver bullet band, a black leather belt with silver studs, a pair of high waisted Guess blue jeans and my black and white Air Jordan high-tops. He lives five minutes away from me, I turn left on North Broadway on his street. I stop the car infront of his house and honk the horn. About two minutes later he comes walking out. He's wearing a black member's only jacket, a white t-shirt that says OP for Ocean Pacific, a black leather belt, a pair of light wash Lee blue jeans and a pair of white and black Reebok bb4600 high tops. His hair is still medium length like Tom Cruise's haircut. He opens the door and gets in closing it. He smiles at me as I smile back at him he leans over and gives me a soft kiss and I kiss him back. We look at each other and He said " You're gonna be eighteen tomorrow. How are you feeling about that?" He said with smile. I said " Happy and sad. My parents are a little sad that I'm already an adult". Kyle said " Yeah mine are feeling the same way". I said " My parents had me when they were young my mom got pregnant at seventeen with me". Kyle said " I think my mom was nineteen when she got pregnant with me". I drive us to school and park in the parking lot. I turn the car off after putting it in park. Kyle said " There is one thing that worries me about you turning eighteen". I said " What's that?" Kyle said " You going to jail like Jane did because of Kelly hiring those people to pose as James and Nora". I said " I already questioned Kelly about that and she swears that she didn't do that". Kyle said " Do you believe her?" I said " Yeah". Kyle said " Alright if you do I will but still we should be careful". I said " We are only a month a apart Jason and Jane are a whole year apart". Kyle said " I know it was just so weird how fast they arrested Jane like that". I said " It's because those cops were not smart and didn't do their job the right way if they would have dug deeper they would have realized those people were fake". Kyle said " You're right. I'm sorry I'm being paranoid I don't wanna see you go to jail. besides you just got out". he said with a grin. I said " I've been arrested twice but this time it wasn't my fault". Kyle said as he remembers the first time " That first time was when you were fourteen and Kelly caused that fight with Jane". I said as I blushed " Yeah then I ended up having sex with Jane on Halloween". Kyle grins at me and I said " What?" as I blushed. He said " It was pretty hot when we dared her to kiss you at that party". I smile at him then roll my eyes playfully. As we get out of the car Jason pulls up in his car. Kyle and I walk around to the back of my car as Jason shuts his off and gets out he walks over and stands beside me. Jason said to Kyle " Hey Man have you heard about that new movie coming out next month?" Kyle said " Hell yeah Top Gun it looks rad". Jason said " Kelly McGillis is so hot". he said with a grin. Kyle said " Totally". I said " She's beautiful but so is Tom Cruise". I said with a grin. Jason and Kyle rolls their eyes playfully. Jason said to Kyle " Are you working today?" Kyle said " Yeah I'm leaving after lunch today I work until 8:00pm tonight". I said to him " You still need me to pick you up?" Kyle said " Yeah my parents are working late".
