Chapter 22

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

It's Summer time and school's out I got a job not too long after Kyle's birthday on May 15th. I work at Dairy Queen in West town Mall with Shana, I've been there over a month now and it's been great but if she wasn't there I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much because having a job is stressful at times especially at fifteen. Just the other day there was a rude customer, he was upset that someone in the kitchen put a tomato on his hamburger and he was at the front counter yelling at me and Shana. We were trying to calm him down and told him we would get it fixed but the man wasn't having it. He threw his hamburger at us and got Mayonnaise and tomato on us. By that time our manager had called mall security and they escorted him out. Today is Monday June 27, 1983, Jane's birthday was on the 20th she turned sixteen her and I had a sleep over by ourselves all though Kelly tried to work her way in but Jane told her no just us. We had a blast watching movies and hanging out Kelly gave us a bottle of Wild turkey to drink on. Jane at first was hesitant because the last time she drank that we had sex but it was planned out and Wild Turkey is 101 proof with an alcohol volume of 50.5 % so that is something you shouldn't drink fast unless you want to wake up naked in a corn field so you chase it with a soda preferably Coke. I'm at work with Shana she's been picking me up at my house and taking me home, sometimes Kelly does. I even made sure Dakota didn't work here but I heard she was working at Burger King down the road from that McDonald's. I didn't want Kelly getting angry because last time she beat me over Dakota working with me. Shana and I are up front and it's really slow right now so we stand there and chat. We spot that rude guy from the other day at the pizza restaurant across from the Dairy Queen. He's over there fussing at one of the workers most likely over a messed up order or just him being a dick because that guy was extremely rude over a tomato on a hamburger. He walks over to a table a few feet away from the Dairy Queen. He pulls out the chair sitting his tray down. He realizes he forgot his drink and scoffs as he storms back over to the restaurant to bitch at the workers when he was suppose to get his own drink at the drink machines. Shana and I are leaned over the counter and I get an idea to get back at that prick for throwing food at us. I look back at the kitchen and nobody is in there the adults have took a smoke break most likely. I said " Hey wanna see something funny?" Shana said as she smiled " You wanna get back at him for being an ass don't you?" I said " Yeah how did you know that?" Shana said " I could sense it". I said " You can read my emotions now?" Shana said " Yeah my powers have advanced now I can read almost everyone's". I said " What about Kelly's?" Shana said " I still can't get nothing from her but I don't need to use my powers to know she's an asshole". We both giggle and I said " I know she can be a bitch sometimes but she's not always like that". Shana said " I just don't know what you see in her. The sex must be great then". I feel my face blush and I said " It's amazing". Shana smiles at me then said " That good? can she go for hours?" I said as I blushed " Yeah". Shana said " Jacob can too". I smile and Shana said " So you haven't been with a guy?" I said " Nope". Shana said " So Kelly was your first?" I said " Yeah I was fourteen our first time". Shana blushes and said " You lost your virginity before me. Jacob and I just had sex for the first time a few months ago". I said " Trust me it wasn't nothing special". Shana looks at me for few seconds then She said quietly " She raped you didn't she?" I feel my anxiety raise and I said " Of course not". Shana gives me a look. She now knows because she can sense it with her powers. I said " Shana I'd rather not talk about it." I go to walk away and she grabs my arm. I look back at her and she slowly opens her greyish blue eyes with tears in them. I pull my arm away and walk off to the girls bathroom. I walk in and over to the sink I feel tears running down my face. I hear the door open and I look over at Shana standing there. I said in upset tone " Shana please.. I didn't mean for you to find out that way". Shana walks over to me and said " You were obviously wanting to let it out but you didn't want to have to say it out loud. Why didn't you tell someone?" I said as I cried " Because I didn't want anyone know especially my parents and Jane... and Kelly is a girl so most likely nobody will believe me".. Shana said " Kim you can't keep something like that bottled up inside.. why can't you just break up with her??" I said " Because I love her".. Shana gets a worried look in her eyes. She said " Kim that's not love.. if she loved you she wouldn't have done that and she wouldn't treat you the way she does".. I look at her and Shana said " I sense a lot of tension from you two sometimes like you agrue a lot". I said " We do sometimes".. She doesn't know that Kelly puts her hands on me from time to time. I said " Besides she did apologize for it afterwards and she hasn't done it again". Shana said " That doesn't fix everything it was still way out of line what she did to you.. Just please be careful even though I can't sense her emotions I do sense a really bad feeling from her most of the time she's not like us".
