Chapter 78

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

One Month later..

It's been a month since Kelly vanquished Tiffany at Neyland Stadium. Jane said she had never seen Kelly lose it like that. She said that she could feel Kelly's panic. Tiffany had shot me in the chest and almost hit my heart if Terri hadn't been there I probably would have died. That was the closest I've come to dying and it was terrifying. All I could think about was Kyle.. leaving him behind.. and it scared the living hell out of me.. and to see Kelly actually be scared to lose me showed me that she really does still care even though she has a hard time showing it. At least I know she doesn't want me dead. Kissing Kelly wasn't something I had planned and I really didn't want to do it but I had to and thank god it worked. I told Kyle that I did he wasn't mad and said I did what I had to do. He knows that Kelly and I no longer have feelings for each other so he has nothing to worry about because he knows I love him. Things were a little awkward between me and Kelly at first. I apologized for kissing her without her consent but she wasn't upset and said that it just really caught her off guard because she wasn't expecting it. Heather on the other hand is extremely pissed off that she didn't get Kelly on her side and she's so jealous of Kelly being my friend that she can't stand it. Heather has now let go of her crush on Kyle and has become more fixated on me. Which I'm glad she gave up on him but that means more trouble for me but I would rather it be me than him. Today is Monday, March 7, 1988; It's the second semester of the year so that means new classes. Sometimes the new semester is either at the end of February or the beginning of March. I have Honors Calculus with Kyle and Kat again with Professor Gaines. My next class is Technical & Professional Writing with Professor Adam Washburn, He's a 6'0" white man with long brown hair that he sometimes wears in a ponytail. He is about Debby's age Forty-two or Forty-three. Then I have Financial Reporting with Professor Patricia Knox, She's a black woman with a small figure like mine and she's about my height. She is probably in her late Forties. Then I have Professional Responsibility with Professor Theresa Bowers. She's a Spanish woman who is also very short and small I'd say she's about 5'0" and she is in her mid to late Thirties maybe a little older than my Mom. Then I have Financial Analysis with Professor Charles Woods he's a mixed man that is about 5'11" and he is around Terri's age he is the youngest Professor I've had so far. School has been good so far but you know it doesn't last long something happens.. or Heather happens... I'm in Honors Calculus with Kyle and Kat. This time Heather managed to get next to me an empty seat over. Kyle is sitting beside me to my right and Kat is beside him. Patrick is sitting beside Kat, He is still flirting with her even though she has told him over and over that she isn't interested and has a boyfriend. James has already finished up his classes for being an HVAC Technician he got a job at an apartment complex as a maintenance man where Kyle and I live. We are sitting there listening to Professor Gaines teach when I hear some kids behind me whispering. I hear one whisper " Hey have you heard about that new drug called " Elixir" it's supposed to be intense as if you've taken LSD or Ecstasy". I think to myself why would anyone want to take that stuff it makes you hallucinate, see and hear things that aren't real or even there which would be a wild experience one that I've never been interested in trying. I ignore the people behind me and continue listening. Heather has been very quiet today in class she hasn't said a word to me she's only grinned at me a few times. I look out the corner of my eye and she's writing on a piece of paper that is covered in notes of Chemical compound symbols I have no clue what any of that is, it's not my area of expertise. At the Student Union, I'm having lunch with Kyle, Jane, Jason, Kelly, Shana, Jacob, and Natalie. Ashley has graduated already, she was studying for two years to be a Dental Hygienist. Natalie is sitting next to Kelly. She said to us " So Heather asked me and Ashley to join her gang of Goons the other day but I told her we didn't hang out with nerds". She said as she and Kelly snickered evilly. Kelly said to Natalie " I showed you that picture before she had that makeover". Natalie said with a smirk " Still didn't help she ain't as cute as she thinks". Kelly said to Natalie " And those pictures she send Kim that one time.. Flat as a fucking board". Kelly and Natalie cackle evilly as we all giggle at her comment. I spot Mandi walking up and I clear my throat altering Kelly. She looks back and turns back around as Mandi sits down beside Natalie. Kelly said with an attitude " Nobody invited you twatwaffle". Natalie snickers evilly as Mandi gives Kelly a sarcastic glare then flips her off. Kelly said with sarcasm " You already did". Mandi said, " I said I was sorry". Kelly said with an attitude " That doesn't just fix everything". Jane clears her throat and said " Is there something you wanted to say Mandi?" She looks at Jane and then said, " Heather tried to get me to join her gang she asked me this morning but I told her to fuck off". Kelly said with sarcasm " Maybe you should.. I think you and her would make a great couple". Mandi glared at Kelly and said, " She's so not my type". Kelly scoffs then says with an attitude " Then what is?" Mandi rolls her eyes and gets up from the table storming off, Kelly said with sarcasm " I thought she'd never leave". She walks over to an empty table and sits down alone. Jane looked at Kelly and said, " At least she's trying to make it up to you". Kelly said " Like I said sorry doesn't just fix everything.. you should know that shouldn't you?" I gave Kelly a stare from across the table. Kelly and Jane are staring daggers at each other. I slam my closed fist on the table and it makes a cracking noise as it splits. Everyone jumps in surprise, I said as I stared Kelly down " If you're gonna be an asshole then leave.. I'm not listening to this". Kelly is silent for a couple of seconds. She looks at me then Jane. She said " My bad.. I've been in a bitchy mood lately because of Mandi". Jane is still a little upset but she accepts Kelly's half-assed apology. She said, " That doesn't mean take out on people who don't deserve it". Kelly said, " You're right.. it was my bad.. that bitch just really gets under my skin". Jane said with playful sarcasm " You actually admitted to being wrong? Where's a video camera when you need one?". Kelly grins evilly at Jane then looks at me from across the table as she takes a drink of her water. She said to me " You good now?" I said, " Yeah I'm not sure about the table though". Kyle examines the split and says with a smile " It's just a little one". Kelly said, " Good thing you didn't hit it any harder or it would have been on the floor". She giggled evilly. She knows I don't take her shit anymore and knows I'd fight her over Jane in a heartbeat. I look over at Mandi sitting by herself with a depressed look on her face and she looks over at me then glares. I don't feel sorry for spying on her. She cheated on Kelly and lost her it wasn't my fault she was just mad because she got caught. After Kelly vanquished Tiffany, a few days later Mandi threw Dakota in my face saying how I can I judge her? when I was dating Dakota while I was underage. I apologized for judging but it still wasn't right and it wasn't right for me and Dakota to date while I was underage but we didn't care because we loved each other and we weren't cheating on people.
