Chapter 77

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

Two weeks later..

It's been two weeks since Terri woke up, and they made her stay in the hospital for a few days. She amazed them with her fast recovery after being in a coma for a week. They expected her not to be able to walk at least or have trouble but when Terri stood up out of the hospital bed they were stunned so they ran all kinds of tests to make sure she was fine and they all came back clear she made a full recovery within a couple of days and they released her. Of course, what they didn't know is Terri isn't a normal human being. She can recover faster than normal humans and take more amounts of damage than other humans. If she was, she would have been in the hospital much longer recovering. Even falling off a three-story building she survived she didn't break anything in her back from the fall her head hit first. Mom and Debby have made the joke that Terri has a hard head which is true because Terri can be hard-headed. But we are all relieved that she is fine especially me because I felt really bad that she got hurt. But Terri told me to stop blaming myself and that it wasn't my fault. Mom has been in court for the past two weeks with Terri and with the cops who arrested her. They have been fighting off the attempted murder charge. Terri testified that Mom didn't try to kill her that they are best friends and that Mom would never try to kill her. They questioned them about the video of them fighting and asked why. Mom and Terri told them the truth that they didn't know they were being recorded that they disagreed about a lesbian encounter that Terri had in College and that things got heated and out of hand leading to the fistfight. The courts were still trying to pin the video on Mom because of how much damage she did to Terri saying Mom was an unhinged woman with a hatred for the gays and that the rage caused her to viciously beat Terri in the video and then " finish her off" in the College parking lot. Mom lost her temper in the foyer is what happened and they were using that against her making her look like a horrible person. Eventually, Terri convinced the jury that Mom was innocent and that she had no clue who tried to kill her in that parking lot and she had no memory of the event. The Judge dropped the charges and said that there wasn't enough evidence to charge Mom and that at the scene there were no signs of a fight or a struggle that an unknown assailant may have knocked Terri over the head trying to rob her then fled. That was on Friday, January 29th I was in class and Mom paged me so I went to the payphone and called where she and Terri told me the good news as we all cried in happiness. Mom thought she was going to jail there for a little bit but Terri got her out of it thank god. Today is Monday, February 1, 1988; I'm in Honors Calculus with Kyle and Kat, and always Heather sitting in the row behind us. We are in the middle of the Quiz when the door opens. I look up from my paper and nearly fall out of my chair when I see Tiffany Campbell strutting in. She hands Professor Gaines a paper and starts walking up the steps leading to the rows of chairs. She smiles evilly as she sees me she waves and walks down the row Heather is in. She sits down beside her and Heather grins at her as they look at each other. They both look at me with an evil grin as I turn my head back to my paper. Tiffany went to Finway High for a little while with us. Remember?? she was the girl who I got into a fight with at Cardin's drive-in because she kept hitting on Kelly non-stop. Tiffany had dumped a Vanilla milkshake on my head and we got into a fist fight with Ashley and Natalie teaming up with her on me. Then she moved away and we thought she wasn't coming back. After class was over we were standing up when I heard Tiffany say " Long time no see Kim". I turn looking at her as she grins evilly. She looked at Kyle and then said to me " I see Kelly is out of the picture now.. does that mean she's single?" She said with a grin. I smiled sarcastically then said, " Nope she's engaged to Mandi Vaughn". Tiffany laughed wickedly then said, " Kelly engaged? Yeah right". I said, " Don't believe me go see for yourself". Heather looks at Tiffany with a disgusted expression. She said " Ewww.. you like Kelly?" Tiffany said, " Have you seen her?? She's so fine". She said with a wink. Heather looks down at me and then at Tiffany. She said, " Nah.. Kim is better looking than that bitch". Tiffany cackles evilly then says to Heather " But she's so short.. like a tiny Chihuahua.. an ankle biter"... She pats my head and I growl softly as I smack it off. She looked down at me then at Heather and said as she giggled evilly " See?" Heather looked at me and said to Tiffany " But she's so cute" " In a way you would talk to a dog. Heather blows me a kiss as she and Tiffany walk off down the row and the steps headed to the door. I said to Kyle and Kat " I should have decked both of those bitches". Kyle puts his arm around my waist and gives me a kiss. He said playfully " Let's not lose your temper, Babe". After English and Business with Declan, we're headed to the Student Union. Declan is still suspicious of us and wants to know our secret. Declan is walking beside me he kinda won't shut up about it. I stop and so does he looking up at me. I said " You wanna know my secret??" Declan said, " Yes please.. just tell me". I handed him my backpack and said " I have to show you". He looks at me with a confused look. We are on the sidewalk out in front of the Humanities and Social Sciences building. I look around and nobody is around it's just me and him. I start teleporting with the blue energy swirling on me until I disappear and reappear behind him. He looks around kind of freaked out. He said " Kim?" I said, " Behind you". He jumps in surprise as he quickly turns around looking up at me with a shocked look that turns to impressed. He said in an excited voice " No way.. you can teleport?" I said, " Yeah but there's more". I look around and there is still nobody around. I use my Telekinetic speed and agility to zoom down the sidewalk then back to him where I run a circle around him like Roadrunner minus the Meep Meep. I stop and Declan is still shocked and impressed. He said " Whoa Super speed". I said, " That was Telekinetic Speed and Telekinetic Agility I can also fly and do many other things but I'll show you those another time". Declan said " This is so cool!" in an excited voice. I looked at him and said " And you're not scared of me in the slightest??? you do know I could kill you with one punch?" He said, " Why would I be afraid of you? I know you wouldn't hurt me.. wait.. what do you mean by kill me with one punch?". I said as I pointed to the huge tree " I can punch that tree so hard that it will fall over with a huge hole in it from my fist". Declan is even more impressed. He looked up at me and said " What's that power called?" I said " Telekinetic Strike". He said, " You sound just like a Super Hero that's basically what you are". I said " I'm a Telekinetic Witch but I guess you could think of it like that... Declan you have to swear to me that you will never tell anyone because people who can't understand will make my life very hard.. do you understand me?" He sees I'm serious and shakes his head. Declan says " I promise not to ever tell anyone... Kim, you're my friend, and being your friend just became, even more, cooler.. you're a Super Witch". He said with a smile. He's a really sweet guy. I smile at him and said " Thank you for understanding". Declan said " I don't see what Julia was so afraid of.. you're not scary". I giggle nervously then said " Nope I can be scary you just haven't seen me pissed.. but I'm not the ones Julia is afraid of... it's Kelly and Mandi". He said with a confused look " Why?" I said " Remember when I told you not to get on their bad sides??" Declan said " Are they evil?" I said " Yes.. but sometimes they can be good". Declan said " What are they?" I said, " They are a long story that I will explain another day". We make it to the Student Union and Declan has talked my head off about my powers he reads Comic books so that makes him very interested in learning more about me and the others which is fine. I told him not to ask everyone too many questions and that they would show him their powers in time. Declan and I are the first ones to sit down at the table waiting for Kyle and the others. Declan got some kind of Pasta he saw the Salt and Pepper on the other side of the table out of reach. He starts to get up and I stop him. He sits back down as I scan the Cafeteria making sure nobody is paying attention. I focus my eyes on the Salt and Pepper shakers and they both come sliding across the table right in front of Declan. He picked up the Salt and said " That is so cool". I smiled at him and said, " I have to be careful I can't just use my powers anywhere". Declan said, " Yeah that's true". As we chat Kyle and the others sit down. Kyle sits down beside me and gives me a kiss I smile into the kiss as I kiss him back. Jane and Jason sit down across the table from us, and Shana and Jacob sit down beside them. I spot Kelly and Mandi walking towards the table and they look like they are arguing. Before they got there, I said to Jane " What's up with them?" Jane looked back then back to me. She said, " I'm not sure they've been at each other's throats for a few days now". They stop talking and sit down at the table. I can tell by the look on their faces they are both pissed but are trying not to let us know. Kelly snaps open her Dr. Pepper can and Mandi pulls out her beeper from her pocket. She grins as she looks at the page she sends one back. Now beepers are Alphanumeric which means they contain a more sophisticated capability of displaying text and icons they receive text messages through email or direct connection to the paging system. I spot Kelly looking at Mandi with a suspicious look. They haven't said a word to each other until Tiffany walks up behind Kelly. I clear my throat letting Kelly know she's behind her. Kelly looks back and exclaims in disgust. Mandi immediately locks her eyes on Tiffany with a glare. Kelly said with sarcasm as she turned back around " Look what the cat dragged in". Tiffany smiled flirty and said, " You still have that smart-ass mouth that hasn't changed". Kelly said, " Never will". She winks at me and the others. Tiffany said, " I heard your 21st birthday is Sunday.. I say you come party with me". Kelly said as she kept her back turned " No thanks I'm good". Tiffany steps closer as Mandi keeps watching. She puts her hands on Kelly's shoulder but she doesn't move them. She looks over at Mandi with a smirk as if she's trying to make her jealous and it's working. Mandi is not cool with Tiffany touching Kelly. Tiffany said as she rubbed Kelly's shoulders " Come on.. it will be so much fun maybe we could get into a bar".. Mandi said to Tiffany in a hateful tone " You've got to the count of three to take your hands off of her".. Tiffany just laughs sarcastically. Mandi stands up and 5"5' Tiffany just laughs even more at how short Mandi is. She takes her hands off of Kelly and steps closer to Mandi looking down at her. Tiffany said " Now you're an ankle biter". She imitates the sound of a barking Chihuahua. Mandi is pissed, She said to Tiffany " Back off of my Fiancée bitch and don't make me say it twice". Tiffany said with an attitude as she looked down at Mandi " And what if I don't?" About that time Patrick Davis walks up between them. He said to them " Play nice ladies". Kelly looks up at him and starts giggling evilly. She said with sarcasm " It's Lizard dick". She cackles evilly as the rest of giggle. Patrick said with sarcasm " Kelly.. so nice to see you again". He looks at me and grin evilly. He said " Kim?? look at you all grown up". he winks at me and Kyle speaks up and says " Yeah and she's mine Bud so get lost ". He says with an attitude. Patrick looks confused as he looks at Kyle and then Kelly. He says to Kelly " I thought Kyle was your boyfriend?". Kelly has her back turned to him, She said as she gets this look in her eyes looking at me " Things changed". Tiffany and Mandi are still having a stare off. Tiffany said with an attitude to Mandi " This isn't over Midget". Mandi said with sarcasm " Oh?? I'm so scared".. Tiffany and Patrick walk away and Mandi sits back down beside Kelly. She looks at Mandi then said with an attitude " Thanks for acting like you give a shit about me Babe". Mandi rolls her eyes and said with an attitude " Whatever Kelly". Kelly glares at her the tension is so thick you can cut it with a knife.
