Chapter 73

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

Two weeks later..

It's been two weeks since the Devil's Minions took Kelly's soul it was a shock to all of us because we didn't think they actually would neither did Kelly. We took her body to her mansion where Austin was with Kevyn. He has no clue how to open the rift and even if he did he said that it's not possible. Because to open the rift you have to be a full demon. He said you can only be transported there if the rift has been opened by a full demonic being. So we hit a dead end and now Kelly's body is just laying in the basement of her mansion on a metal table as if she were in a Morgue. It's pretty creepy down there in the basement. It's dark and filled with old boxes with things that belong to Austin and Kelly. I was down there a few days ago with Austin and he opened a box marked "Books". It had a bunch of demonic books and items that Austin had used over the years but he found nothing to open the rift. Seeing Kelly laying on that table was creepy itself cause I have expected her to be an asshole and pop up to scare me but she never moved. She just lay there motionless as if she were sleeping. Kevyn knows something is up and she knows Kelly is in the basement. Austin and Mandi have found Kevyn down there because she teleports to wherever she feels Kelly's presence. Kevyn just stands beside the table and stares up at Kelly. When Austin and Mandi take her upstairs she gets upset and cries. She's too young to understand what's going on. To her, it's like Kelly is sleeping and she can't wake her up. Kyle and I kept Kevyn for the weekend to help Mandi and Austin. Yesterday Austin's Grand parents offered to watch Kevyn until we find a way to get Kelly's soul back. Today is Monday, September 21, 1987; Kyle and I went and saw the new horror movie called Hellraiser Friday before we got Kevyn for the weekend. The movie was pretty good but it was creepy as hell if you haven't seen Hellraiser you're in for a good scare. Speaking of creepy, Heather hasn't been seen in a month since she used that mind control beetle on Mandi, and Kelly sent her flying across that lake behind Terri's house. It's been quiet without Heather around because you know her she's always up to something. But with her being gone so long it makes me wonder if she's planning something. I'm in Honors Calculus with Kyle and Kat. We are listening to Professor Gaines talk when the door opens. Heather walks in with an evil grin, she walks over to Professor Gaines and hands her a piece of paper most likely to excuse her month's absence. Professor Gaines said to Heather " Nice of you to join us again Miss Thomas". She says with a hint of sarcasm. Heather sits down behind us like always. I roll my eyes as I keep my eyes on Professor Gaines as she continues talking. I feel Heather breathing down my neck. She whispers in my ear " Did you miss me beautiful??" Professor Gaines turns to the chalkboard and I throw my hand up with a closed fist nailing Heather in the face as she exclaims softly. Professor Gaines hears the noise and looks back but we are silent just staring at her. She turns back to the chalkboard and continues talking as she writes with a piece of white chalk. At the end of class, we get up and Heather says behind me " Such a nice welcome back from you Kim". She said with sarcasm. I turned around, and said, " I meant to hit your nose I don't know how I missed that honker". Heather exclaims in offense as she crosses her arms. Kyle and Kat are giggling at her as she storms off. Kat looks at me as she giggles. She said " She totally does have a big nose". Kyle said, " All she needs is a clown horn". He imitates the sound of a clown horn and we bust out laughing. Kat said as she laughed " Bozo the clown". Our laughter ensues as Kat holds her stomach. Later on after my English and Business class, I'm headed to the Student Union for lunch. I'm coming from the Humanities and Social Science building as I come up from the steps leading from the sidewalk leading to the small walkway leading to the front doors I see a Frat guy with a green hat yelling at a Freshman girl who is dressed Nerdy from her appearance. She is balling her eyes out as He calls her a stupid bitch. I get instantly pissed when I heard that. I said to him with a stern voice " Hey asshole!" He looks over at me and said, " Mind your fucking business bitch". I walk up and stand in front of him with my back to the girl. I said to him " You're gonna turn around and walk off.. and I better never see you bother her again". He laughs sarcastically as he looks down at me trying to intimidate me with his size. He's about 5'6" but he doesn't scare me neither does his size. He checks me out and then said " Maybe I can find another chick to do my homework you look smart and really hot". I said with sarcasm " And you look like a total Jackass". He gets mad and said " I am smart! I just hate homework!" I said with sarcasm " Really? you don't seem like it having people do your homework". He said " You've got a big mouth for a little bitch.. Why don't you show me what else it can do". He said with a wink. I spot Kyle walking up behind the guy and I smile. The Frat guy is clueless, He said " What?" I said with sarcasm " Oh nothing just my 6'0" boyfriend". The Frat guy's eyes widen as he turns around looking up at Kyle. He said " I catch you talking to my woman like that again Jerkoff and you're gonna be swallowing your teeth!" He said as he held the Frat guy's shirt. He shakes his head yes in fear. Kyle lets him go and shoves him. He takes off running down the sidewalk leading to the right. I turn around looking up at the girl who is tall she's about 5'9". I said " Are you okay?" She looked at me and Kyle with a shy expression. She said, " Yeah he was just mad because I told him I wouldn't do his homework anymore". I said, " Good let him be.. you are not his slave". She smiled friendly and said, " You're nice". I said " What's your name?" She said " Julia Andrews". I said, " My name is Kim Austin and this is my boyfriend Kyle Stevens". Kyle politely shakes her hand. I said to her " Would you like to eat lunch with us?" She said, " Are you sure you want me to? Most people just ignore me". She reminds me a lot of the old Heather when she was Mildred and we ignored her... Is this really how she looked and felt? Invisible to everyone? I said, " Yes I want you to and we won't ignore you". Kyle said to me " Not to be rude but I promised Jason I'd meet him at his car". I turn and look up at him. I said, " It's okay go meet him". He kisses me and I kiss him back. He said, " I'll see you guys in a few". Julia and I walk to the Student Union and chat the way there. I said to her " What are you studying?" She said, " I'm studying for a four-year degree in Criminal Justice". I think of Heather and I said " Do you who Heather Thomas is?" She said with a smile " Who doesn't know her?" I said " What do you think of her?" She smiled shyly then said, " I'd rather not say it's not nice". She is very shy and not bold. Unlike me who is the total opposite of this girl. I said with a smile " It's perfectly fine to have your own opinion about someone or something.. within reason". She said with as she giggled nervously " She's a total bitch". I giggle with her as she blushes at what she said. I said, " You're more nice than me. I would have said something worse". Julia looked at me and said, " I can tell that you are very outspoken and aren't afraid to voice your opinion". I said as I smiled " Yeah that's me.. but sometimes my mouth gets me in trouble". Julia said, " I wish I was able to speak up for myself". I said, " You can". Julia said, " Heather says things to me sometimes and I don't say anything back even though I probably should". I said, " Speak up for yourself and say something when she picks at you". Julia said with a smile " I'll try". I said " And let me tell you something about Heather Thomas.. she was once like you.. shy and afraid to speak up for herself.. good thing is she learned to do that but she turned into a horrible person.. so please don't learn from her.." Julia said " I promise.. besides she gives me this very uneasy feeling.. like there is something very bad inside her". I said " And you're right about that.. just for your own safety steer clear of her.. she's more dangerous than you can even imagine". Julia doesn't know exactly what I mean but she has an idea. We walked inside the Student Union and got our food. I got a salad, a bottle of water, and a bag of plain chips, Julia got a turkey sandwich on wheat bread, a can of Diet Pepsi, and a can of Pringles. We sit down and she sits down beside me to the right. I look over at her and she's blushing. I said with a smile " What is it? See a cute guy?" She said as she continued blushing " Don't take this the wrong way but you're really beautiful". I can't help but blush a bit at the sweet compliment. I said, " Thank you. So are you". Julia has long dark brown hair that is curly at the ends and her eyes are a dark blue about like Mandi's. She's wearing a black long sleeve shirt, a red plaid skirt and a pair of black dress shoes that are slip on's and she's wearing black frame glasses like Velma from Scooby Doo that's who she reminds me of. She said " No I'm not.. I look like Velma". she said in a not confident voice. I said, " And Velma is beautiful the way she is". Julia smiles as she blushes at the compliment. I said " Besides look at my clothes.. you know what I get called from time to time?" She said " What?" I said, " I get called a Dyke but that doesn't bother me like it use to". Julia said, " How could people call you that? You don't look gay". I think to myself that's because I'm Bisexual. Julia said with a smile " Besides even if you were it wouldn't bother me". I smiled at her and said " You're okay with people who are?" She said, " Totally.. they're human like us too.. I wouldn't mind having a friend that way guy or girl". Jane walks up and sits down beside me. She said, " Hey Kim". She saw Julia and said, " Hi I'm Jane, Kim's best friend". Julia smiled and said, " I'm Julia". I look at Jane and said, " I saved her from a rude ass Frat boy". Jane rolls her eyes. She said, " I don't know what's in the water today but everyone seems on edge". I notice two girls arguing in the lunch line which is not something we see at all. Two Professors walk up and get between them. Mandi walks up and sits down at the table beside Julia. She looks at me then looks at Julia she briefly checks her out. Mandi said to me with a grin " Who's your friend?" I said, " Mandi this is Julia". Mandi smiles flirty as she shakes her hand. Julia said, " Nice to meet you". Mandi said, " You too.. cute skirt". Julia smiled and said " Thank you". I give Mandi a look to not flirt with Julia. She grinned evilly then I said to Mandi " Anything about Kelly?" Mandi said " Nope". Julia said " Who's Kelly?" Jane and I both looked at Mandi and then at Julia. Mandi said, " Kelly is my girlfriend.. and she's.. away at the moment". Julia said to Mandi " So you're??" Mandi said, " Gay? No I'm Bisexual". Julia said, " I'm cool with that by the way". she said nervously. Mandi said " Are you Bi?" with a grin. I tap Mandi's shin under the table with my shoe and she looks at me. Mandi is being.. well Mandi and you know her she's evil and she doesn't hold back. Julia smiled then said as she blushed " I'm not sure".. Mandi smiled evilly and looked at me. Julia said as she blushed more " But I've thought about trying it if you know what I mean". She is red as a tomato. Jane smiled friendly and said " Nothing wrong with that". Julia said as she looked at us " Is that too weird?" I said " Not one bit". Mandi is smiling like a creep. She said to Julia " Well let me know if you make up your mind.. I might know a girl you can try it with". I growl softly as I kick Mandi hard in the shin and she exclaims in slight pain. Julia said to her " Are you okay?" Mandi glared at me and said to Julia " Yeah.. just bumped my knee". Julia looked at her watch and said " It was really nice eating with you guys but I would like to get to class early". I said, " Of course". She smiles friendly and gets up with her tray walking to the trashcan. Jane and I both look at Mandi and throw our empty plastic water bottles at Mandi and they hit her in the chest as she cackles softly. Jane said to Mandi with sarcasm " Creepy much?" Mandi said, " What?? I was just being nice". I said, " Yeah a little too nice". Mandi said, " Aw come on.. I mean look at her.. She's so innocent". I said, " Lay off of her I mean it". Mandi said, " I was nicer than Kelly would have been and you know that". I said, " No because Kelly would have known to not be a creep". Mandi scoffed and said " What's your deal?" I said, " I just don't want to see her get hurt". Mandi smiles evilly with her arms crossed. She said to me " What's the matter Kim?? do you not trust me??" I said, " Don't give me a reason not to". Mandi and I just stare at each other. After a couple of seconds, She says " Look.. I'm sorry but I'm worried sick about Kelly". Kyle and Jason finally show up and sit down with us. Kyle leans over and kisses me. He said to me " Sorry I'm late Babe". I said with a smile " It's okay". Jason said, " He was helping me change a tire". Jane said to Jason " That one you just bought was flat already?" Jason said, " No someone slashed it". Jane said " Did you report it?" Jason said, " It's not worth it. Dean Thomas wouldn't do anything about it". Jane said, " You're right with that one". Kyle notices Julia isn't at the table. He said to me " Where's your new friend Babe?" I said, " She had to go". I just look at Mandi after I said that.
