Chapter 101

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

Two Months later..

It's been two months since the encounter inside Debby's old childhood home. While we were searching for the family tree in her attic, she picked up an old photo album that glowed red. The glow entered her, she turned and attacked Ellen with her powers. Ellen turned see-through to avoid the energy beam, then she reappeared in her corporeal form, and Debby punched her in the face. She went to attack Ellen again, and Jane flung her into a stack of boxes using her telekinesis. Debby left and went to the house, where we all followed Ellen. Inside, Debby beat her up and threw her around until she started casting a banishment spell, and Ellen possessed her. By doing this, she made Debby understand her feelings and emotions, which helped her move on. Macy and Kelly showed up at the top of the stairs. Macy was the one who made the album do that. She put a curse on it, and when Debby picked it up, the curse turned her evil and tapped into those repressed emotions that she had buried for so many years. Today is Monday, April 24, 1995; I was supposed to start my period on the 21st, four days after my twenty-seventh birthday. So, I waited until today to take a pregnancy test. It's early after breakfast. Kyle and I are in our bedroom waiting for the test to be done. We are pacing the room, waiting anxiously. The four long minutes pass, and I breathe as I walk into the bathroom. I pick up the test off the sink and look at it. I cover my mouth as I start to cry. I walk out, and Kyle stands in front of the bed. He said with a sad expression, " You're not pregnant?" I turn it around and show him the positive result. He exclaims in excitement as he picks up into a hug. I'm holding his neck as he cries on my shoulder. He holds me for a few seconds, then sits me back down. I look up at him as we both cry with happiness. I said as I cried, " We're gonna have a baby"... He said as he cried. " We've tried for so long. It's finally happening.." I said as I cried. " I can't believe it... God.. I'm so happy,".. Kyle said as tears ran down his face. " Me too, Baby.. I've got an idea on how to announce it". I said with a smile as tears ran down my face. " What is it?" He said, " We announce it at our wedding Saturday". I smile at him as I cry more. I said, " That's a beautiful idea.. Mom is gonna be so excited.." He saw my face change to a sad expression. I said as tears ran down my face, " I just wish Dad were here.. to walk me down the aisle and to find out he's gonna be a Grandfather.".. Kyle pulled me into a hug as I cried on his chest. He said as he held me, " He knows, Baby.." I looked up at Kyle and said, " Jack has offered to walk me down the aisle for Dad.. He would want him to.. he was Dad's best friend.".. Kyle said, " Jack loves you like your his daughter." I said, " I'm so lucky to have Debby and Jack in my life.. they have both loved me and treated me like their own since day one". Kyle said, " Is Todd coming to our wedding?" I said, " Yeah.. Mom asked me if it was okay since they started dating.. she didn't want it to seem weird, and neither did Todd". Kyle said, " He loves your Mom. I can tell by how he looks at her". I said, " They have been taking things slow since they've only been dating a month." Kyle smiled, " That's good.. Your Mom deserves to be happy.." Mom was very hesitant to date Todd. She hadn't been single since she was fourteen years old, and trying to move on with someone else after being with my Dad for so long was hard for her, but Todd is a wonderful man, and he respects Mom, and he knows she's a witch. He's been around people in his life who are witches like Kat. Kyle and I took a shower together, then got out to get dressed for work. We walked out the front door, and Kyle locked it behind us. We are standing in the driveway, kissing in between our cars. Kyle smiles down at me as he holds my face with his hand. He said, " Six days until we say I do and announce our baby." I said as I smiled, " I can't wait."... He said, " I really hope it's a girl." I said, " Me too.. and she'll already have a name.. Carly Elizabeth Stevens.".. Kyle smiled and said, " And if it's a boy, that will be fine too." I said, " I don't have a name for a boy". Kyle said, " You could name him after me". I smiled and said, " We'll figure it out if it turns out to be a boy." He smiled and said, " I love you, Baby." I said, " I love you too, Handsome.. Have a good day". He said, " You too". We get in our cars, start them, and drive down the driveway. I turn right, and he turns left, going down the road. On the way to work this morning, I wanted to call Mom and Jane to tell them the news, but I promised Kyle I would wait until the wedding. I'm not even telling Dakota and K.J. either. It's our lunch break, and I'm at the café in front of Kelly's work building with K.J. and Dakota. We are waiting for a waiter to come take our order. K.J. gets up to go to the bathroom. She walks across the courtyard and inside the café. I look at Dakota, and she's smiling at me. I said with a smile, " What?" Dakota said, " Something about you seems different." I said, " Different.. how?" Dakota said, " You're glowing." I smiled as I looked at her. Her eyes turn yellow as the wind blows, and she sniffs the air like a cat. I said, " Dakota?" She smiled as she stopped and looked at my stomach. She said, " Are you?" I giggled and said, " I can't keep secrets from you.. You can sense it, can't you?" Dakota said, " Yeah, I can sense the change in your hormones." I said playful, " That's kind of weird." Dakota said with a giggle, " I'm half cat." I said, " Wait.. can you sense when a woman is on her period too?" Dakota said as she giggled, " Yeah, all animals can". I said, " Kyle and I were gonna keep the pregnancy a secret until the wedding.. so can you please not tell anyone?" Dakota said, " I'm sorry I kind of ruined it.. but I promise not to". I said as I looked over at K.J. coming back. " We can go ahead and tell K.J." She sat at the table and saw us smiling. She said with a smile, " What?" Dakota looked at me and said, " Kim has something she wants to tell you." K.J. said with a smile. " What is it?" I said as I smiled, " I'm Pregnant." K.J. squealed with excitement as she leaned over and hugged me. She looked at me and said, " When did you find out?" I said, " This morning". Dakota said, " She was trying to keep it a secret until her wedding, but I blew it." K.J. said to Dakota, " You can sense the baby?" Dakota said, " Not yet.. I will be able to hear the heartbeat as it grows, but right now, I can sense the shift in Kim's hormones". K.J. said as she giggled a little bit. "That's cool and a little weird at the same time." Dakota giggled, then I said to K.J., " You have to promise to keep it a secret until the wedding. I want to surprise everyone else.. Mom and Jane don't even know". Dakota said playfully, " Jane is so gonna pick at you for not telling her." I said as I smiled, " She's gonna be so happy and a little peeved at me, but she'll get over it." A female waitress came up and took our orders. She said with a smile, " What can I get you?" I said, " I'll have the Turkey sub with a small bag of plain chips and a can of Wild Cherry Pepsi." Dakota said, " I'll have the Chicken sub with a small bag of Nacho Cheese, Doritos, and a can of Mountain Dew." K.J. said, " I'll have the Ham sub with a small bag of BBQ chips and a can of Dr. Pepper." She wrote it down and said, " I'll have that out soon." She walks to another table to take an order. We are talking when Kelly walks up to the table. Kelly said with an attitude, "I heard you and Kyle are getting married on Saturday.. I see I didn't get an invite". I scoffed and said, " That's because you aren't welcome." Kelly said, " You aren't even gonna invite Kevyn?" I said with an attitude, " Like Kevyn wants to be there.. or you". Kelly said with an attitude, " I'd go for Kevyn, not for myself." I said with an attitude, " You couldn't watch me marry Kyle.. it would kill you". Kelly's eyes turned red, and she put her hands on the table. She said as she stared at me, " You wish it did." I could see in her eyes that it was bothering her that I was getting married. I said, " Keep lying to yourself.. we both know how you still feel about me, Kelly". She growls as she stares at me with her eyes still red. She said, " You left me.. I was willing to change for you, but that wasn't good enough". As I stared at her, I said, " You'll never change, Kelly.. move on and stay out of my life". I see her eyes tear up, but she fights it. She moves her hands and stands up straight. Kelly said, " The day I get the chance.. I'm gonna kill you, Kim.. and when I do, I'm gonna savor it as I watch the light leave your eyes.." Kelly growled as she stormed off. She shoved two tables, knocked them over, and rudely bumped into people walking around the courtyard. Dakota said, " I was gonna jump in, but you handle it." K.J. said, " You really pushed her buttons". I said, " Because I know the right ones to push.. I just wish she would move on and leave me alone". Dakota said, " It's Kelly.. we know her". I said, " Yeah, that's what scares me.." Our food came out, and we ate and talked. Afterward, we were done and paid for our food. We walked back down to the office and got back to work.
