Chapter 87

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

One Month later..

It's been a month since Heather was vanquished, but the mystery is how she got vanquished when none of us were able to at that moment. Heather was an upper-level demon like Kelly and you needed their blood to mix into a potion to kill them. Even Kelly couldn't have vanquished Heather. She's powerful, but she's not that powerful to kill an upper-level demon with her powers alone. We've all been racking our brains trying to figure it out because nobody else was there except us and Heather. Shana has a theory that all the power Heather was absorbing could have led to her death. That was simply too much power for Heather's body to handle, and it caused her to explode. Or the phrase that her eyes were too big for her stomach. That was the most terrifying feeling I've ever felt in my life... I could literally feel myself slipping away as Heather absorbed us. John is furious over Heather's death and threatened to kill us all for killing his daughter. If it hadn't been for Kelly we would all be dead... She was willing to sacrifice herself to save everyone... I know Kelly may be a lot of things, but she's not as cold and heartless as she seems. She does have somewhat of a conscience. It's Monday, November 19, 1990; Kyle and I are up having a cup of coffee and eating breakfast before work. We made French Toast and bacon. Kyle said he didn't feel anything weird happening to him while Heather was trying to absorb everyone, which means Kelly had stopped the demons from spreading into the city and feeding off of the town. Kelly said the reason why she cut herself to bleed is that those demons are addicted to the taste of any kind of blood, especially of the human variety. Like sharks, they can smell your blood, and once they do, they find you fast. I took a drink of my coffee and then said to Kyle" I was so scared at the stadium that I felt myself literally dying... All I could think about was leaving you all alone"... Tears fell from his eyes as he put his hand on mine. He said "You made.. All of you did... Kim, you are the strongest woman I know and without a doubt the bravest... You went there to protect me and everyone else in town... If that's not a hero, then I don't know what is". I have tears running down my face as I look at him. I said" Some say it's a man's job to save the world, but that's not always true". Kyle said" Not always... Women can be just as brave as men if not braver... This is gonna be so cheesy but... You will always be my little Super Hero"... We both smile and giggle softly. He puts his hand under my chin and pulls me into a soft passionate kiss. We kiss for a couple of seconds then pull back and stare into each other's eyes. I said" So what Super Hero do I remind you of? " Kyle said as he winked at me" Wonder Woman". We just smiled at each other. I said" I don't know about Wonder Woman. She could flick me, and it would kill me". Kyle giggled as he stared at me. He said" Could you lift a tank with your powers?" I giggled and said" I doubt it probably an SUV or a pick-up truck". He said" Let's go shower". He winks at me. We stand up and I stared up at him. I put my hands on his waist and said with a wink" Let me lead the way". He smiles at me as I start teleporting using Blue energy. I teleport us up to the bedroom, and we start removing each other's clothes. We get our towels off the wooden chest at the foot of the bed and walk into the bathroom. As Kyle turns on the water, I grab his bare butt cheek. He looks back at me and smiles as he turns on the shower. He opens the curtain and steps in and I step in behind him. The warm water is running on us as we kiss passionately. Kyle starts kissing my neck and I moan softly. After a couple of seconds, I grab his face and kissed him with passion. He turns and puts his back to the wall and lifts me into his arms. As we walk out he grins at me. We walk to the bed and start getting dressed. Afterward, we walk out the door in our work clothes. I lock the door as Kyle walks down to our cars. I walk down to the middle of our cars and give Kyle a kiss. We stand between the cars in the driveway. Kyle smiled down at me and said" I love you, Baby... Have a good day". I said," I love you too Handsome... You have a good day"... We get in our cars and leave driving to work. At 1:00 pm, Dakota and I went down to that Café for lunch. Thanksgiving is Thursday. I've got Thursday and Friday off, including the weekend, so I get a four-day weekend. Kyle was only able to get Thanksgiving Day off, but he still gets the weekend. We are cooking Thanksgiving dinner at our house and inviting over our family and friends. Dakota said," I like to come to your house for Thanksgiving, but I haven't seen my Dad in several months, I'm leaving Wednesday to go down to Florida to visit him for Thanksgiving. I'll be back Sunday". I said with a smile" I'm glad you're going to visit him". Dakota said," Yeah me too... I've been kind of down ever since Julia and I broke up... My Dad always makes me feel better... My Mom and I seem to always butt heads". I said," Tell me about it... My Mom and I are so much alike that we butt heads... Me and My Dad get along great". Dakota said," Moms are just more serious than Dads and there's nothing wrong with that as long as they aren't too serious". I said," My Mom can be sometimes, but she's not as bad as my Grandmother. My Mom and I do get along better than we used to. When I was a teenager we butted heads more, but I was also a teenager too". Dakota said," Me and My Mom are still the same as I was when I was a teen. We just don't see eye to eye sometimes". I said," Maybe one day you will". Dakota said," Hopefully... At least yours is trying to be better... It seems like My Mom isn't". After lunch, we walked back down to the office and got back to work. I left the office at 5:00 pm and got home at 5:45 pm because of traffic. Kyle and I decided to go out for dinner. We went to Aladdin's Time-Out Deli over by Finway High School. It opened sometime in the early 60s Mom, Debby, and Terri all said it used to be a hang-out spot when they were in High School but when the 80s hit its popularity with, high Schoolers declined, but it's still one of the best Deli's in town.
