Chapter 20

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

After all that, Abaddon is gone for good. It seemed as if he couldn't handle being inside Kelly as powerful as she is, but maybe he couldn't hold her pain, which was worse than mine, because he was a little too comfortable inside my body. Kelly does have feelings way deep down inside, but she puts on this tough act and hides her emotions very well. Like I told Dakota at the park that day, sometimes I feel like I don't even know her..

I don't know how to be so close to someone so distant. Today is Friday, May 6, 1983. I'm at my house as usual, waiting for Kelly to come pick me up from school. I'm sitting on the couch with Zeke beside me as I pet him softly. The nosebleeds and headaches have stopped since Abaddon. He caused them by trying to possess me, and he had a hard time. My telekinesis is connected to my brain, so when I get a headache, it sometimes turns into a migraine.

My body was trying to fight him off so he couldn't get inside me, but he weakened it, and that was how he was finally able to possess me. My telekinesis was out of control; it kept flinging things and people like it did to my mom, but thanks to Kelly, it's all over. Abaddon could have done some severe damage to my brain if he had stayed inside me, or worse, he probably could have killed me. Kelly surprised me when I saw her showing sympathy, which you guys know is something she hardly ever does. She proved to me that she genuinely loves me. I know she does; she has saved my life a few times.

I hear the horn outside, and I get up from the couch, petting Zeke before I leave. I walk over to the front door, open it, and step outside. I lock the door with my keys and put them in the front pocket of my blue jeans as I'm walking down to the car. I open the passenger door and get inside, shutting the door behind me. She just looks at me, usually kissing me or smiling, but something is wrong.

I said, " What's wrong?" She shifts into drive and pushes in the gas as the car pulls off easily. She said, not looking at me, " Nothing, it doesn't matter." Great.. here we go.. I said, " Obviously it does, or you wouldn't be mad." Kelly said as she drove, "Cooper was seen leaving your house the morning you and Mandi got into that fight." Oh god.. how the hell did she find this out? I said, "She just came over to visit me." Kelly said, " Really? Then why the fuck was she climbing out of your bedroom window!" She backhands me, hitting my upper cheekbone. I exclaim in pain as I hold my face. I said as I winced in pain, " Who told you that!?" Kelly said, " My dad!! He was over at the house behind yours, working on their sink! When he spotted Cooper climbing out of the window!! Kim, you better fucking tell me what exactly happened between you two! I swear to God if you fucked her!!.." I cut her off, " I didn't!! She just showed up at my house!! nothing happened!!" She isn't going towards our school; she's headed for Sharp's Ridge.

I said as I feel my anxiety rise, " Kelly, please.. I told you what happened!" She pulls up the road, driving up there. She said as she kept staring at the road, " You'll tell the truth one way or another! Even if I have to beat it out of you!!!" She stops the car in front of the viewing fence and shuts it off. She quickly gets out and storms around to my side, jerking open the door. She said, " Get out of the car, Kim." I leaned back away from her, and she reached in, smacking me in the back of the head as she undid my seat belt. She jerks me out and shoves me against the car as she slams the door.

She grabs my arm and leads me over to the ravine. She shoves me to the ground, and I land on my back. She gets on top of me and puts her hand on my throat, pushing her thumb in the side of it as I exclaim. She said with her face close to mine, " Now tell me what happened, or I'll fucking rip your throat out with my teeth. It's your choice, Kim." I'm crying as I look up at her. I said as I cried, " Kelly.. please just stop..." She backhands me again, and I exclaim in pain. She growls in her demonic voice, and her face changes to the demon looking down at me with those glowing red eyes with no pupils.
