Chapter 41

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

Two weeks later it's Thursday April 18, 1985 my seventeenth birthday. Kyle and I have been hanging out non stop and we finally made our relationship official on the 15th. At first I was hesitant to because of Kelly and I was worried about what other people are gonna think especially at school. But I really don't care it's none of anyone's business I know for a fact that I will be labeled a boyfriend stealer maybe even worse as Kelly will put it but none of that is gonna stop me from being happy with Kyle and I already am and it's only been two weeks. We have both fell fast and head over hills for each other. It's so peaceful to finally have a healthy relationship with someone that isn't gonna belittle me, abuse me both physical and mental and more importantly someone that can love me correctly without twisting it into something toxic. Like I told Jane in the woods that day I only wanted to be loved and I put up with way too with Kelly because she made me feel like I was important to her and I know she loved me but she couldn't love me the right way. And at times Kelly would protect me against Ashley and them she even protected Jane, Jason and Kyle. But I don't know if she did it for a show or because a part of her really did care. I guess I will never know and it's not worth dwelling on when I have moved on from that. It will hurt for awhile but I will get over it cause I'm finally free and actually happy and it's never felt so good. I just got done fixing my hair for school I pick up my can of Aqua net hairspray and cover my eyes as I spray the front of my hair then I spray the back. I sit the can down on the dresser and look at myself in the mirror. I'm wearing a brand new Lee brand blue jean jacket, a black t-shirt that says Metallica Ride the lightning, a pair of dark high waisted Jordache jeans and my black and white old skool Vans. My Mom is so happy that Kyle and I are dating now she has always really liked him so that's good. My Dad is happy too but he gave Kyle the Dad talk about dating his daughter you can guess what he told him. Mom also said that I need to take my birth control still because Roy and Renee made it clear to me and to Kyle to be careful and for me to take the pill so I don't end up pregnant like Kelly. Speaking of her she actually has backed off a lot the calls and messages have stopped and she has been keeping her distance at school she's also been hanging out with Ashley, Natalie, Mandi, Evian and Stephanie. Natalie has graduated and isn't in school anymore somehow Ashley managed to unbanish her but it took four to five months. Kyle and I saw Kelly hanging out at the park one night with Ashley and them. They were drinking but Kelly wasn't because of the baby but she was smoking a joint so I guess that won't hurt the baby. I'm so excited to spend my birthday with Kyle this year and not Kelly cause as you know I didn't always have a good birthday because of her.

I walk down stairs and into the living room where I pick up my backpack of the couch as Zeke lays there. He also really likes Kyle he couldn't stand Kelly he even bit her that time we fought infront him. I walk up to the front door and open it walking out on the front porch. I lock the door with my keys and walk down to my car parked in the driveway. After getting it going I'm driving down Woodland Avenue with my radio playing Madonna Crazy for you when I spot Kelly's black 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans am pull up beside me at the red light. I look over and see Kelly in the driver seat and Mandi in the passenger seat giggling as Kelly talks. Even though the windows are down I can't make out what they are talking about. Mandi leans forward pulling Kelly into a soft kiss she kisses her back until she opens her eyes seeing me she glares at me as she pulls away from Mandi and she turns around looking at me. Mandi said " Told you I'd get her back bitch". Mandi flips me off I roll my eyes and said " Not my problem anymore". Kelly growls as she throws her gear shifter into first as the light turns green she speeds off flying by my car and down the road. I'm driving down the road as Kelly drives like a maniac ahead of me. Soon she whips around the corner drifting up the hill that leads up to the back parking lot of the school. I'm pulling up the hill now and turning into the parking lot. I turn left and go down the first row of spaces passing by Kelly and Mandi standing outside Kelly's car at the trunk. I park by Shana's grey Toyota Celica and turn off the car getting out with my backpack. I walk around to the back of my car and Shana walks over to me from her car. She's wearing a black leather bomber jacket with a hood, a dark red and black short sleeve button up, a pair of dark high waisted Lee blue jeans and a pair of black high top Chuck Taylor's. Shana looks over at Kelly and said to me " I can't believe the way that bitch treated you and made you keep her secret". I said " It's over now I don't have to deal with her anymore". I'm looking at Shana and She said " I'm so proud of you for finally standing up to her. I was really worried about you". I smile at her and said " Thank you". Shana gives me a hug and I feel Kelly watching us. Afterwards I look over and Kelly is looking at us but she looks away. Shana said " So you and Kyle?" in a playful way. I said as I blushed " Yeah we've always had thing for each other". Shana said " I could definitely sense Kyle's emotions they were very strong for you. But sometimes I wished I didn't feel some". She said with a cringy grin. I blush and said " Did you feel his sexual emotions for me?" Shana blushes a bit and said " Yeah when you're an empath and you feel those kind of emotions you briefly feel that same emotion that the person is feeling for the another". I can't help but giggle. I said " That must have been awkward for you". Shana said " Yeah kind of". All a sudden something in Shana's eyes suddenly changes next thing I know she's kissing me. I hear Kyle's voice at the same time " Well I was gonna do that but I guess you can". Shana quickly pulls away from me as she blushed bright red with me as we giggle at each other. Shana is composing herself. She said to me " I'm so sorry Kim that wasn't me it was him". She pointed to Kyle. He smiles and said " No I'm pretty sure you were kissing Kim not me". he said in playful way. Kyle said to Shana to mess with her " I could turn around and come back and think that emotion again". he said playfully. I smack him in the arm in a playful way. Shana said in a playful way " Stop that. you kiss your girlfriend not me". He smiles at me and we kiss as we do I spot Kelly out the corner of my eye watching us. We pull away and smile at each other. I see Jason and Jane approaching with Jacob from across the parking lot. Jane is smiling as she looks at me and Shana. She said to mess with us " Damn that was a hell of a kiss you planted on Kim there sure you don't need to tell us something". Shana giggles as she covers her face in embarrassment. She said " I hate being an empath sometimes". Jacob said to mess with her too " Maybe we should leave you two alone". as he winked at Shana. She and I giggle. Shana said " I guess I can say I had my experience with a girl". Jane said " It's not that bad actually". Oh my god she did not just say that. Jane smiles at me as I blush. Shana senses the emotions and looks at Jane then at me Shana said " You two did it?" I said as I blushed " Yeah". Jane said " I was just curious and wanted to try. But somehow Kelly found out and she got pissed". I said " Yeah that didn't go over too well she was more pissed that we didn't ask her to join". Shana makes a face and I said " She also has a huge thing for Jane". Shana looks over at Kelly and Mandi and they are kissing. Shana said " I heard that Kelly is dating Mandi again and that she offered to help Kelly raise the baby". Kyle looks over and sees Mandi gently feeling Kelly's stomach even though she's not showing yet the baby is still there. Kyle said " I wonder what it's gonna be". I said " What would you want it to be?" Kyle said " I wouldn't mind a boy". Jane said " I vote girl". I said " Yeah I have a feeling it will be a girl". Jason said " I vote boy". Shana is staring at Kelly closely she's trying to read her emotions. Shana said " Still nothing. I vote girl too". Jacob said " I'm gonna stick with the boys". He voted for boy. I'm sure you're wondering about Rick. We teleported back to the cliff and Jason picked up his body and teleport it to Rick's room and layed him on the bed. We hated to do that cause everyone knows you're not suppose to move a body but his family would have never found him and we couldn't tell the truth to the police or to Rick's family if we did we would have exposed our selves. He was found by his dad and after the corner examined the body they determined that Rick's heart suddenly stopped. Upon further examination they found Cocaine in his system I never knew of him doing that he most likely did it privately so they are blaming it on the drugs for what caused his death but when in reality Kelly's power of Electrokinesis is what killed him. His funeral is Sunday the 21st of April we are all going.
