Chapter 43

P.O.V/ Kim Austin:

Friday April 26, 1985;

Kyle and I are laying in his bed making out while the radio plays Jump by Van Halen. As things start to heat up the landline on Kyle's night stand rings catching our attention. Kyle answers it " Hello?" I can't hear the other person talking. Kyle said " Alright we'll be there". He hangs up the phone and said " That was Xander he said he's at the park with Dana and Karen started on her again". I said " Come on let's go I'll call Kat". We get up and I stand infront of the night stand while Kyle puts his shoes back on and dial Kat's phone number. The phone rings a few times until she answers it " Hello?" I said " Xander just called from Edgewood park Karen is arguing with Dana again". Kat said " Dammitt! Meet me down there fast". We hang up and I quickly put my shoes back on and grab my keys off the night stand. Kyle and I rush out the house and to the driveway and get in my car. After getting it started I'm driving down Oglewood Avenue the street that Kyle lives on. I turn left down North Broadway then I turn right on Edgewood Avenue down to the park. I pull up infront of the park and Kat pulls up infront of my car from the opposite direction. We all get out of the car and rush out to the middle of the park right infront of those huge rocks we all sit on and see a crowd of kids chanting " Fight! Fight! Fight!" Kat and I are pushing through the crowd and right as we get up there Dana swings a right hook and punches Karen in the jaw so hard she comes off her feet and hits the ground on her back. The kids all cheers for Dana and she looks down at Karen who is knocked out with blood pouring out the right side of her mouth. I'm standing infront of Dana and while Kat is trying to wake up Karen. Dana said to me " I had no choice she wouldn't stop". I said " it's okay". The crowd clears out leaving me, Kyle, Kat, James, Karen, Dana and Xander. Finally after about three minutes Karen wakes up but she is still pissed. Karen shoves Kat away as she scrambles to her feet. Kat said to Karen " What the hell is wrong with you?! why are fighting with Dana?! she has done nothing to you!!" Karen said " I don't want to talk about it!" She turns to walk away and Kat grabs her arm. Karen jerks her arm away and swings her fist punching Kat in the nose. She exclaims in pain as she holds her nose she moves her hand and blood is on it Karen looks over at us and holds up her hand putting a Gold colored force field up to stop us. Kat gets pissed and tackles Karen to the ground. They roll around and throw punches at each other. Kat is on top as she swings punching Karen in the mouth. She exclaims in pain and knees Kat in the ribs making her fall off of her. Karen gets up and kicks Kat in the ribs as she exclaims in pain. I hit the force field and it ripples I said " Karen stop it!!" Karen ignores me and goes to kick Kat again but this time she kicks the back of Karen's legs and makes her hit the ground on her back. Kat is struggling to raise herself up cause her ribs are probably broken. Karen is on her back as she throws her foot up and kicks Kat right in the mouth and exclaims as she falls back down. Karen stands up and holds her hand out. A gold energy ball appears in her hand and she slings it at the middle of Kat's back and exclaims in intense pain as it zaps her. I have to get out of here. I said to Kyle, James, Xander and Dana " Get back". I throw my hand up using my telekinetic strike to hit the force field repeatedly. Karen just stared down Kat as she lays there in pain. Kat throws her hand up and an small explosion hits Karen in the chest sending her flying over the huge rock where her back smacks that big tree behind the rock. She falls to the ground. About that time I hit the force field one last time and it explodes disappearing. I rush over to Kat and help her up, We look up and see Karen standing up. Kat is crying as so is Karen she is standing in between the rock and the tree Kat said " Karen.. please just stop and talk to me".. Karen just stares at her then teleports away by the use of Gold electrokinetic energy. I walk Kat to her car and she opens the door. She gets in the driver seat and winces in pain. I said " Are you gonna be okay?" Kat said " Yeah just bruised up". James is in the passenger seat. Kat picks up a pack of Marlboro Menthols and pulls one out lighting it with a silver zippo lighter. She takes a puff and blows out the smoke. I said " Have you and her ever fought like that before?" Kat said as she ashed her cigarrette on the ground " No.. That was the first time we ever actually punched each other.. I just don't understand".. She said as she cried. I said " I'm beginning to think that Karen has been made to act like this". Kat looks at me and said " Do you think she's possessed or something?" I said " Probably think about it she was fine until those leprechauns showed up". Kat said " You think they have something to do with her acting like that?" I said " Yeah and I think Kelly is the one who sent them here to mess with us". James is looking at his beeper in the passenger seat and said to Kat " David is having a party tonight would you like to go?" Kat is so stressed out about Karen. She said to James " Yeah I need a drink". I said " Who's David?" Kat said " He's his older cousin that is twenty one he throws parties a lot on Fridays". James said to me and Kyle " You guys can come to if you want". James writes something on a piece of paper from the glovebox then hands to me with the address. I said " We'll see you guys there". I back up and Kat closes the door then throws her cigarette butt out the window. I walk down to my car with Kyle and we get in as Kat drives by us.
